Patiently waiting for a Northbound CP intermodel with DPU, Wellington Ohio 6-8-24

It's probably the longest I've ever had to wait for a train in Wellington. It allowed me to practice patience & I got to observe a wild fox playing in the tall grass near the tracks! It was just an absolute beautiful morning to be out & about!
Finally, I got to catch a northbound Canadian Pacific intermodel with a DPU after about 2 hours of waiting!

Hi Matt, Thanks for waiting it out. Great to see a frieght train crossing the diamonds. Cool CPKS power on a CSX intermodel. Shoestring was awesome about giving advice.

Nice nature catch of the red fox. The last time I saw one was outside my Mom's house last year barking at a cat. The bark had a shrill to it that almost sounded "springy" or something like that. You sure practiced patience at those diamonds.

Very nice footage Matt. I think that may have been a train hopping hobo fox. He probably caught the next train after you left. Always looking forward to seeing your next video !

Nice video Matt, I'm on the West coast and have never seen a diamond X-ing , I think Shoestring talked/videoed about one in a video. The Cajon Pass is a few miles from me and "Hill 582" and you don't have to wait long for a train ! Thanks

Yeah Shoestring had quite a few videos about diamond xings. He was fascinated with them. He had a couple of them where he was talking about the points on them and how they get worn down over time. Cheers and thanks for watching on the west coast!

I kept saying to myself "I'll wait another 10 minutes" for about the last hour....lol. I didn't want to leave because I already invested the time & I knew as soon as I left 10 trains would go by! Lol...thank you for watching!

Hi Matt. Supplement your patience with a little scanner that has a channel with train monitors. Shoestring had one and most Railfan sites use them. Patience is good but knowledge is way more convenient.

@@user-kv9jw3ph2s I have a scanner, I just have the W&LE channels programmed in! Lol...& I had it with me...lol...I need to program the CSX Greenwich sub channels into it for when I go to Wellington for SURE
