@@christophertsipouras2290 If you can match his energy early on, he doesn't rib as much. When they got past the early warm-ups, Evan stopped bantering and started hyping. Maxime just isn't a talker like that. I could imagine Evan and Eddie going at each other in a training session if they were both competing lol.

Maxime is quintessentially Canadian. Strong beard, friendly to a fault and I've never seen him not seeming like the most relaxed person on the planet. Even after absolutely blitzing (2nd fastest time ever?) the inclined frame carry at Arnold's he looked as relaxed as if he'd just got out of bed.

I think the word that best describes Evan would be “polarizing”. You either love him or you hate him. I personally think it’s part of the hype of training. They talked about keeping the intensity while training in a previous video; maybe he talks a little more trash while he’s training to stay hyped. By all personal accounts he sounds like a pretty good dude.

coaches don't need to be on the court to tell the players what to do. If you have the knowledge and are able to convey it to somebody who can utilize it, then have at it. That's what teachers are for.

Correct me if I am wrong Uncle Loz, But Evan seems to slam the weight before lockout on warmup reps, then he struggled with stabilization on the working set, Could this not be due to the fact he's not even working the stabilizers at the lower weights? Don't get me wrong... He may be carrying an injury... Martins is literally doing shoulder press sets only at only stabilization height some days and he seems to be the most intelligent trainer in the world if not the best strongman

Part of me agrees with you, you don't want to change the gameplan this close to World's. However, these guys have been lifting for so long, and have incredible physical literacy. It isn't too hard for them to make a tweak to technique and become proficient in a much shorter time in comparison to an average person.

No, he just trains fast-twitch muscle fibers which are the largest/strongest muscle fibers, this is considered as "explosive" power, not to mention it reduces time under tension which reduces total energy expenditure.

I think he has the mentality that Shaw has lost. A “lift it at all costs” mindset that will lead to injuries but also lead to wins when healthy. Obviously you have to adapt as you age but there is a recklessness required to win, especially in speed events. Uneven grip? Implement not sitting right? Screw it, don’t readjust, just hope your spine holds together so you can save that 3 seconds. You can’t just turn that on at competition time (IMO). It’s trained every day at the gym. It’s a recipe for short term success.

@@martinnilsson5295 This is training, meaning 1. weights are not that heavy, you can get away with making mistakes, the main thing is the essence of the training is kept proper. 2. these guys train a lot and forcefully so, at times, they can go on autopilot, in that state, muscle/body memory takes over and if the implements/environment vary, mistakes happen and your autopilot will adjust.

Even if you are world's strongest man you can't be technically perfect in every event. Listening to people (even if they are weaker) and testing what they say is key to find new great things. Many times smaller guys are better technically because they have to compensate lack of strength.
