@ DON JAY TV. Thanks for this look around Picton and the loggers movements there. This activity has been happening there for more than six decades to my knowledge, as i was the first permanent MoT officer to be appointed to Picton mid 1960s, previously coverage being done by Blenheim officers. Most of the drivers in those days cooperated pretty well with what was required of them, though i had to caution one or two for exceeding the limit or excessive use of the exhaust brake through the Wairau Road residential area when entering the Borough. You've obviously got the contacts to get up close and personal. Great, clear viewing even if conditions got a little damp at times. That self loader must be pretty near unique - I've never actually seen one in the flesh.

These trucks are in soo much better nik than the ones i worked on with my father in hawkes bay shows the company maintains them properly rather that just slapping a fresh coat of paint and patch repair the problems.
