Hey don't forget to watch "Blade(Trilogy)", "Electra" and "Fantastic Four" before watching "Deadpool & Wolverine" because they are very important to the plot :)
Hugh Jackman's Logan roar in the climax after killing a soldier to a tree has got to be the best roar that he has ever done. Either that was dubbed or he did it on set for real, it was still freaking incredible. I got chills when i first heard it, it was really the moment where Wolverine fights his enemies like an actual wolf
Hugh said right after he saw the first Deadpool he knew he wanted to make another one with Ryan, called him up and the worked on making it happen. The entire script and story beats changed so much if you head the behind the scenes, not just different cameos but whole plots of who showed up where etc
Fun fact: When filming the forest fight scene, Dafne Keen was having so much fun that she started grinning and giggling as she was slashing people. Hugh Jackman was bursting with cuteness overload because of this, so he picked Dafne up, hugged her and spun her around.
When Charles is talking about the Statue of Liberty at the start of the film, a lot of people miss that the scene that follows where Logan meets Gabriella at the motel takes place at the Statue of Liberty Motel.
Director James Mangold said in interviews that Yukio’s prophecy from The Wolverine came true, she said he would die holding his heart in his hand, Laura was his heart.😭😭😭
*Facts about X-23/Laura:* Creator Craig Kyle described her as quote "Pinocchio for Marvel Comics, she's a samurai sword trying to become a real little girl". Unlike Logan, who had already lived a long life before he became weapon X, X-23 never had a normal life, she was literally born and bred for one purpose, and one purpose only, to kill. And she didn’t originally come from the comics, she debuted in the cartoon X-Men Evolution in 2003. In the comics she had already killed enough people to be considered one of the deadliest women in the world before she met Wolverine, and that was when she was a child. Also she only has Adamantium on her claws and not the rest of her skeleton because she was still a small child at the time and the plan was to wait for when she was a full adult because otherwise she wouldn’t have grown into her body. So while she’s not as durable as Wolverine her healing factor is actually faster and she’ll never have to worry about Adamantium poisoning because the small amount on her claws won’t be enough to affect her in the long term.
Its such a horrible feeling of irony knowing that Charles spent all those years trying to protect mutants, only to be the one responsible for killing them😢.
The first ever superhero movie to get an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Sounds pretty awesome, would've been nice for additional of Best Picture and some technical categories like Cinematography or Editing or Visual Effects. Oh well, i guess received an Oscar nomination for its screenplay seemed like a huge honor and it totally deserved it
The character of Laura Kinney (X-23) was an original creation for the show X-Men: Evolution and was soon incorporated into the comics. She has since gone on to take up the Wolverine mantle in the comics after Logan died (and he later came back).
Maybe when Hugh Jackman finally retired his Wolverine role (they'll probably make him do this until he's 90 btw 😅), I would love to see Dafne Keen as X-23 continuing Hugh's legacy as the next Wolverine. I was pretty convinced that Logan dying with Laura grieving for him was the moment where Hugh was really passing the Wolverine torch to Dafne
This is a fantastic movie, I came out the cinema after watching this still in tears on the way home and it still makes me cry!!!! Hugh and Patrick and everyone are amazing in this. Loving Tara’s Xmen journey watching these for the first time with Andrew ❤❤ not long to go now till DP&W LFG!!!
This was probably one of my favorite reactions to this movie specifically, watching Tara blind watch was a delight! She was all of us when we first saw this movie lol ❤
Logan got an Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars, but this also should've been nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and acting nods for Hugh Jackson, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen. It's one of the greatest comic book movies ever made.
No matter how many times i've watched this, the ending always gets me 😭That is the definition of how a comic book movie should be! Great reaction guys :)
If you can and i hope so, i really hope you guys react to the fantasy series, "His Dark Materials", all three seasons adapting the three books. It was Dafne Keen's next big role after Logan and it was the book's second chance to get a faithful adaptation after the failure of New Line's The Golden Compass and for the most part, it totally works as a fantasy series and as a faithful adaptation of the books. It's one of the most underrated series out there and with Dafne in the leading role, i really hope it deserves more recognition
It’s really been fun watching Tara go from completely new to the X-Men to now being like die hard for the X-Men. I love it. She just said she loves the professor made me feel really happy.
50:21 Zander Rice is not related to Stryker. He was referring to the scientist working on the Weapon X program from the comics that Wolverine killed after he escaped months of being experimented on. Actually, William Stryker isn't involved at all with Wolverine's origin in the comics and that was just something that was done in the movies. In the comics William Stryker is at reverend and religious zealot.
I do enjoy how Andrew has already seen LOGAN and Tara hasn’t. I’ve been in this situation before. I went to go see Transformers One last Wednesday and my buddy who is a bigger Transformers fan than me saw the movie beforehand at an earlier fan screening. We still had a great time 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love this, you guys 😄😎🙌🏼❤️
Sarah Kinney, Lauras(X23) mother, was hired to recreate the Weapon X program, but had an incomplete sample of Logans DNA so Sarah added some of her own and when complete with the embryo, she was forced to be impregnated with the embryo as punishment. Laura was not made as a clone but born as the genetic daughter of Sarah and Logan. Laura was raised as a a hired assassin by a man named Zander Rice, but after Laura tells Sarah she doesnt want to kill anymore, Sarah gives her a task to destroy all remaining weapon x clones. but during her escape from the lab she was exposed to a trigger scent by Zander Rice sending her into a berserker rage accidentally killing Sarah. but Sarahs last words were her giving X23 the name Laura, to let her know she's not just some thing or experiment, that she has some humanity to hold onto.
Talk about the modern take of Shane happening with Logan. Logan on his last ride. Also in The Wolverine Yukio and her prediction of how Logan dies bleeding with his heart in his hand with X-23 holding his hand bleeding from back, fromt and seeing that play out in the end is just painful ending his story.
I love this movie so much. Also when she said she saw Logan’s death in the Wolverine she said she saw him die holding his heart. A fan theory is that she saw him dying holding Laura in this film so she did see his death. Just not when they thought
Fun Fact: The Self Driving Trucks almost hitting the horses is a real world reason self driving cars aren't being mass produced. Their programming can't take pedestrians who jaywalk into account it's too big of a variable apparently. So basically if a self driving car is driving down the street and they have a green light and you jaywalk they will hit you.
You could do long distance cross country trucking that way but then, you'd have to build receiving centers outside of town then just switch to a human driver and a diff truck anyway so whats the cost of that? That makes sense
As far as i can tell, for me, this is the Nolan's Batman of MARVEL. It's such a beautiful movie. I felt his death as hard as Toni's. It makes me cry every single time though...
This came out my senior year of HS &’ remember my friends not being able to get in because it was rated R even though they were older than me😭🤣 sneaking them in to see this what a amazing night🤘🏼I still always tear up to this movie🥹Logan having to tell Charles it wasnt him always breaks me
2016. Before the release of X-Men:Apocalypse and following the success of Deadpool. Hugh Jackman tweeted with a pic of himself as the character showing the one admantium claw with the words "One Last Time". James Mangold, director of the previous Wolverine installment and 3rd film with Jackman was appointed to round out the trilogy. Using elements of the Old Man Logan comic storyline published prior to the first Wolverine solo film. In Days of Futurepast, history was altered for the most part of being a better world. But nothing could stop the unimaginable future that we see. Jackman as Logan in this film with what he faces is an inspiring performance and his best portrayal of the character. Caring for Xavier after an unforseen event, trying to be close with young Laura aka X-23 and battling these newer kinds of foes pushes the levels of what we've already known of this universe, that anything can happen, ready or not. The songs of Johnny Cash, influences of many 'Man/Child' coming of age stories, remarkable suspense/action and some of the most emotional moments ever seen in this genre. Making this Rated-R and a Hard R at that, was the best choice ever made to show this character in his element. This is one of the best film adaptations of an comic ever. Nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay (Academy Award, Writers Guild, etc) and winner of 9 consecutive awards. Ever after the Wolverine trilogy at this point. The X-Men film series was slowly, but surely coming to a close as well.
i know this channel has already done a reaction to logan the wolf (fan film) but now that tara has seen most of the movies, id love to see her (and coy's?) reaction to the fan film. her calling logan "wolf" at the begining made me think of that.
PSA: Deadpool & Wolverine Spoilers Below!! Is anyone gonna tell Tara to watch Elektra or Blade coz I feel like she’s gonna have no idea who Elektra Gambit, Blade or Human torch are in DP3, which would be sad watching her go through all these movies and have all the major cameos be a “wait, who’s that”
She'd need to watch Daredevil Elekrta Blade 1 2 and absolutely def 3 I think they did the fantastic 4 didnt they? Was tara there-a? I'll go check after this. *yes tara has seen The OG Fantastic 4
33:03 The dinner scene with the family always makes me teary-eyed. It’s the first time in the movie we see Logan, Laura and Charles truly happy and peaceful probably for the first time in years. Honestly, all three of the actors should’ve gotten Oscar nominations for this movie.
I remember watching this movie in the cinema, not believing what I was watching. It was so epic. I can even remember the first time I saw the first trailer..!
Nice little detail.. I forget the complete translation.. but when Laura speaks (and yells) at Logan in the car.. she basically tells him that theres no reason to speak to him because all he ever does is yell at her and disrespect her.. which kinda lets you know that her standoffish attitude towards him throughout most of the movie is basically down to her feelings being hurt.
1 of my favourite Marvel films along with Deadpool so I’m delighted that Logan ended up in Deadpool……….for me it was also weird seeing Boyd Holbrook as a baddie as I was that used to him as Agent Murphy in Narcos!!!
X-24 is not dead but his memory has been blown away. the meat n brain will heal but not the lost memories. Like Logan had happen when he took one to the head on the Island .
"this is what is feels like" It doesn't have to mean what you think. I even think it's unlikely. This statement has nothing to do with family feeling or because Laura calls him daddy. I don't think that this awakened family feelings in him. He never wondered what it was like to have a family, because he had it with the x men. This sentence refers to that he finally knows what it's like to die. That's what he longed for, and yet couldn't do it himself as long as Xavier was still alive. Nor did you say anything about the fact that Xavier killed all the mutants through his power.
I believe for the seizure scenes they said they turned off image stabilization on their cameras and shook them while filming and added image stabilization back during post or something like that.
