An absolutely STELLAR October afternoon provides a great day to hunt an early 1800's logging camp brothel yard. An early Coronet cent, seated quarter, and some cool artifacts round out the day! Come on along

Thanks Rich! Went back the next day and found a seated CC Dime…but that’ll be for next week's video! A year and a half without a seated coin…then TWO within 2 hours of hunting!?

That CARSON CITY quarter is worth a good bit. Amazing find! And to be your first quarter it's amazing. Carson City mint are very expensive to buy. Could be worth a few thousand for sure. Nice find!

@@HistoryintheHandMetalDetecting any Carson City mint anything pull great value. Those are far and few between. You got some great finds. Dimes even go for several thousand.

I highly recommend you go back and hunt that place with the smaller lg15 6" coil. You will be amazed at how much more you will find. I thought I was getting it all with the LG24. I hit sidewalks a bunch. I did a sidewalk got 11 coins and several where great. Done with the LG24. I thought the lg15 was silly. We hit an old city dump where it's loaded with so much junk iron and every kind of junk metal it's extremely hard to hunt. The lg15 will wiggle a long picking out good targets. I began to like the little coil. So out of curiosity I went back to that good sidewalk strips I hit with the LG24. I hit that section hard with the LG24. Thought I got it all. I went back with the lg15 and pulled 26 more coins out of the same stretch I would have bet money on I had cleaned out with the LG24. My mind was blown away. No comparison. 26 more. I could not believe it. I then was having trouble in my mind thinking of all the spots I had done with the LG24 and how much I had potentially missed. The lg15 now lives on my Legend. Pretty rare it comes off. Since switching to the lg15 doing sidewalks my silver count has increased 10 fold. This past year I have gotten more silver than the previous 10 years. Get the lg15 and get back to that logging site. You will be in for a real treat.

Oh man, you’re KILLIN' me…I’m only running a Simplex+!?!? I just started detecting a year and a half ago. In some ways, I’m just getting tuned in to it. But in another, I’m tempted to upgrade to one of Nokta's newer models/or a Legend. There was a HUGE difference when I switched to the sp24, in terms of target separation. I can only imagine how an LG15 would be. It’d be a sniper rifle! I’m still scraping $ together for this summer… Wish me luck! My brother in law is coming out next month, with his new Simplex Ultra. I’d like to see it side by side…as a possibility.

@@HistoryintheHandMetalDetecting I started with a Simplex plus after a break from detecting for a few years. Then got a legend. Nothing wrong with the Simplex at all. I bought all the coils available. I use the SP24 a bunch. Then I picked up a legend. The Simplex is not capable of target separation like the Legend. Especially legend with lg15. That is one hot combo that's the key to many treasures. That tons of people don't understand how powerful that combo is. I can assure you go back with a legend and lg15 you are going to clean up! Don't get caught up in all the settings that people are trying to change in the Legend. Just fire it up run frequency scan, set sensitivity, and ground balance and pick park 1 or park 2 in higher trash and get to rocking. Multi frequency M1 for silver and M3 if ground is wet and money.

I’m actually in northern Pennsylvania…or "Penn's Woods" as it was called in the early days. It’s a really cool area to detect!

I know! They only minted coins there for something like 17 years…and a couple wound up in a brothel lawn way over here in the mountains of Pa! Pretty cool…
