The Complexity Range control in Percussion adjusts from both directions, to a “range” that not only expands or shrinks but also moves up and down. Why does it move up and down?
I'm really not a fan of this Session Drummer redesign. It's now more time-consuming and less intuitive to get the kind of performance you want out of the drummers. They haven't yet found the right sweet spot between 'completely intuitive' and 'total technical mastery'.
Excellent presentation. While I really like the session drummer features, and it's ability to generate drumming patterns based on the settings and input from other tracks, and it's improved sound, I also feel like it makes me settle for "good enough" instead of "just right" or "great" which I think I could get with something like the Lumbeat drummers, which have real character and personality, and a greater stable of sounds. Yes - you can change the instrument as shown, and that's really nice. I'm going to continue to use both for now. It's too early to tell how much I'll use the session drummer in the future - it's still in the "new car" phase - all shiny and bright and making those purring new engine sounds if you get the picture. I think the buzz will calm down after a while, and we'll see if people are really using this regularly. Thanks!
I can’t seem to connect my Roland TD17 E-Kit since the Logic 2.0 update. This was super simple to do before the 2.0 update. Maybe this will get resolved in 2.1. Other than that I do like the new session drummer update. The push/pull feature is cool. The drums sound slightly better than before. Great video. Thx
Do not be deceived! Logic pro 2 for iPad is made for M1 iPad and up! If you have anything less try and open all three session musicians at one time and see what happens! Mine says I don't have enough RAM to run the program on iPad 9th gen. So us non- M1 iPad people are left with GarageBand. Yay!
Worth noting that opening a bass and/drummer session player will also automatically add the ChromaGlow plugin to that track. Disabling it will improve performance. But yeah - there’s a reason Apple say that M1 or newer iPad models are recommended for these new features!
Then get an used M1 Air and stop crying, ffs. The 9gen only has 3GB of RAM, what do you expect? You can still run Logic just without the new update stuff if you‘re that poor.
