I used to feel like shit that I wasn't allowed to go to college for music production. I don't feel bad anymore knowing that your channel exists. I would pay for your tutorials; and you're SO FUCKING GOOD at teaching
I know this is usually said sarcastically, but truly. I can not believe this is free. This is better than some of the college classes I've had on logic......
Dude, you're so iconic!! Just came across this and remembered you were the one who taught me how to use Logic Pro in 2017, through your tutorials. Tysm!!! ❤
Alchemy is a powerful plug-in. Has so much depth to it, definitely a Logic gem. Hands down the best stock plugin bundled with any DAW. Key switches per octave is a game changer.
Thank you so much for this tutorial series. You have no idea how much you've helped me. If only my teachers were this clear and easy to understand then school would've been a lot easier! And this is coming from a guy who's got ADHD (ADD). You're a really good teacher!
+MusicTechHelpGuy Ohh I'm not just talking about Alchemy but your whole logic series, it helped me go from zero to hero! What I always tend to lack are the skills to bring my ideas to life, but with your videos I really did manage to learn Logic X. Now that I know how to use the software, it'll be easy for me to use the creativity to make tracks!
thnx for putting an excellent comment, you have no idea how much it helped me reading your comment. I saw it and then watched the video and it was really helpful ..and I don't even know anything about ADD.
8 years later bro and Im still learning from your video! Thank you for helping people like me who love music but would be lost without people like you!
I searched the whole Internet and found you! You are the only and brilliant person who reviewed and helped me! Thank you so much, good man! You are a super professional! And your review is super!
Absolutely brilliant! This is the first video I've ever watched by MusicTechHelpGuy and I'm 100% hooked. Best. explanation. video. ever. Now I'm going to have to binge watch your entire library. Thank you so much!
Hey Music Tech Help Guy, God bless you for all the time you spend to educate who knows how many people, hundreds, thousands, millions... You have been a blessing for me and my church, and just like Tetsu Queen says "you helped me go from zero to hero" God Bless you :)
So I stumbled upon a alchemy tutorial the other day that looked really cool but I don't remember what it was exactly, so I searched alchemy logic pro and you're the second video that came up. Im back again cause you da man! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Simply seeing this video in the subscriptions page made my evening complete, thanks! Haven't even watched a second yet but can still tell this is going to be helpful!
Thank you so much for this video and the whole Alchemy series you did. You do a great job of explaining what everything is and how to use it and the bit on automation at the end really helped me a lot. Keep making videos!
My man, thank you for all of your videos - You are such an excellent teacher. I bought Omnisphere but actually have been favoring Alchemy & the ES-2 because your tutorials are so good so I can understand how to use them better. Thanks very much!!
This really helped things click for me in my head. I have trouble learning until someone explains things in a way I understand and you nailed it! Massive cheers dude!
hi, very pleased to see that you update the tutorial, hoping to see a more detailed Alchemy Tutorial, I especially want to learn how to use Alchemy to design Drum sounds, how to get more impact of the heavy Bass ???
Great video! Can't wait to actually be able to find Alchemy on Logic (just got my computer yesterday) and try it out. I'll be watching more of your videos.
You can put your own sounds into apple alchemy, and you can also import exs sampler sounds right into it as well. That is a miscommunication in the tutorial
I thought I'd had a decent understanding of how to use Alchemy from just messing around on my own. Guess not. Great video; very informative and easy to understand!
Great tutorial - you made it easy to understand and learn. You have earned a sub. *thumbs up* . I will be going through all your Logic X tuts now and see what else i can learn. Thanks
MusicTechHelpGuy Hey man, love the channel - just replying to this to say that it is a little confusing around the 1:20-1:40 mark because you say the reason you download such a large sound library for Alchemy is because you won’t be dropping in your own sounds. You might have meant something different, but I took it the same way Price Westerburg did. Anyway, great content as always! Take it easy.
These tutorials are awesome, thank you. Have you done one on how to control Alchemy with an external keyboard? I cannot get it to work at all. Seems like it should be simple but no dice. Thanks.
Many thanks for this tutorial, I'm overlapping a track with Key Switches and that works fine but doesn't show MIDI activity just blank track no trace either on Piano Roll, could you suggest a remedy, best regards, Steve
Question: I'm having trouble recording the "key switches" at around 16:00. I set the MIDI "Cycle Off" to "Overlap", but it's not overlapping the clips. The new clip with the key switch MIDI notes is replacing the previous clip with the MIDI notes that were controlling the musical notes.
Very good BUT one thing: 720p instead of 1080p :( Given that it is interface tutorials, including smaller fonts & other details, the choice of resolution is strange.
All of my tutorials are now in 1080p. At time my display was only 1600 by 1050, a weird size, so when I uploaded the tutorials RU-vid defaulted DOWN to 720p, instead of upsizing to 1080p. I've purchased two samsung 1080p displays now so all of my newer tutorials are 1080p.
Great videos. :) I truly appreciate what you do. Quick question. If you set the snap shots to start say at C1, are those seven snapshots always assigned to those keys? Or only with alchemy window open. So if you record a progression, you'll still have the option of using the C1 and up keys, as long as the alchemy window is closed. Hoped that made sense. Lol.l
Hey man love your videos, just discovered this. Amazing. I have a question... In regards to the control modulation, what is the different between just moving them and using the control 1-8??? Can't get my head around that...
I'm sure I don't have to tell you how amazing you are at explaining and even for putting this up. Thank you so much it's really been a great help. I just have a question, I'm actually using main stage 3 and when I use alchemy or even some of the other plugins, I have that messed up popping noise and it interferes treacherously in my live performances and I was wondering what are the risks of running my buffer size high or even too high? Also, what kind of Mac are you using like the specs, maybe I need to have a better one? I'm using a pro with retina display 13 inch. Processor 2.6 memory 8 gb graphics Intel iris 1526 my...would any of that affect it to? My goal is just to reduce that stupid popping/crackling noise.
Thanks for your vids! If I may ask, which mac are you using and what are your specs? Alchemy is killing my 2011 MBP, looking to get a new mac but now happy with the new releases.
Do you know a way to play a single note on a pad and have it sustain indefinitely until the next single note played? Like the Latch function of an arpeggiator, but for a single droning note. Amazing tutorial, thanks man!
Thanks for making this video series! I'm wondering where you got some of your patches like Dream Time Traveler and Awakening. Were they created by you or are there good places to download more patches?
Great tutorial. But tell me; how do you keep from going into a transcendental state while playing with the Alchemy parameters so much that you don’t get any real music made?
