Thank you for clarification. I bought mine as a Brio; came packaged as you show. I learned of other model name and wondered if I had made correct choice. NOTE to all: The base can be separated from the camera head, but the base is NOT a threaded mount. Pull straight or rock slightly, but do not twist or rotate, because the stud does have ears to correspond with the two vertical grooves in most female threaded mounts for cameras. Using a pry tool carefully (e.g. credit card) between base and camera head can help.

There is actually a big difference, as Erik Albæk Taasti is correctly mentioning: The firmware is completely different! The 4k Pro is currently on firmware version 2.4 while the Brio Stream is only on 1.3 - and there seems to be no way to get the 4k Pro firmware onto the Brio Stream. So the Brio Stream seems to be more expensive because of the included 12 months Xsplit license. But actually the 4k Pro gets firmware updates more often, is certified for more (business) video solutions and has 3 yrs warranty instead of 1 yr. So the 4k Pro is the better package (unless the Xplit license is important).

The BRIO 4K has a PNPID of VID_046D&PID_085E, the Streaming Edition has VID_046D&PID_086B. So they are not the same on a chip-level. The Logitch camera settings showing both models using a "Sensor Version 5.5" but even different Firmwares. But there is no info anywhere if they have the same optical systems and mics. To make it even more confusiong, the camera settings app is showing the BRIO 4k Pro" just as "BRIO" here.

The actual difference is that the Business model comes with 3 years warranty and the Retail only comes with 2 years warranty.

I bought a 4K Pro at Best Buy but returned it and got it on Amazon for $60 cheaper.... However, the box mine came in says Brio Ultra HD Webcam instead of 4K. Which is unusual, haven't seen anyone else have that box. But specs are the same and it looks identical. Same packaging as your standard brown box in this video just wording difference with Ultra HD. Camera also has 4K option and HDR option in Logitech Capture, so it is 4K version. Just interesting the description difference. Model # on box is #V-U0040 which is the model # for Brio 4K Pro

I recently paid $17.00 more for the "4k Pro" at $219.00 total. When I contacted logitech about why theres a price difference vs the Brio at $199.99, I was told: quote" The Brio and 4K Pro are similar - one is classified for business and the other for personal." LOL. So you're literally paying more for a different branded box. Crazy.

Just to further add if it's useful, because I too was really confused with these cameras, I bought x2 thinking one was a PRO version. Underneath the camera body there looks like a part number, both mine have the same number - MSIP-REM-DZL-V-U0040

So they actually seem to be different (but hardware stats, looks and dimensions seem to be exactly the same on paper, and logitech own site); not the same firmwares and 'easiness' to upgrade them on the logitech site etc..actually the STREAM seems to have the oldest firmware update (only available via a special software apparently..AND not officially/immediately visible on its logitech support drivers site..but in their forums..last one from 2019..), the PRO seems to have its firmware regularly update on its support page, easily available..last one from 2021. Seems softwares do react differently with both (a comment below)..really weird..all we can also say is the STREAM (1194..on amazon since 2017..) seems to be newer than the PRO (1106..on amazon since 2013..)....seems to reflect the comment of someone below; "The BRIO 4K has a PNPID of VID_046D&PID_085E, the Streaming Edition has VID_046D&PID_086B"..'STREAM' is a little newer... BUT..that is not necessarily an advantage for pro softwares apparently, tuned and reacting better with the old one ? ,( Just reacting quickly here as i just bought one on amazon for 129.99€ (a steal compared to the official 249.99..)..btw, another weird thing; on the official logitech website, the STREAM is also +10€ compared to the PRO (239.99)..so, seemed to be sold as 'the better one'(and latest place on the info webcam official list)..that's why i did not hesitate when i saw the 'limited time offer' those days on the STREAM (the PRO beeing unavailable), but..now, i am a little concerned..don't want to use it only for switch whatever, but mainly for the broader choice of apps possible too (to be determined later)...hoping i did not do a mistake then..if the colors settings are different from the PRO, if only that, could be ok (if just different settings to find)..but IF the recognition in 'professional' webconf/etc softwares is more limited, i would be for sure disappointed too.. ,( comments on the STREAM seemed good too though, on many sites, for pro usages... really confused a little now (but i'm not the only one apparently on those 2 'very similar' models..).. O_o

I first bought the 4K Pro when it was released. Last week I wanted another one, and due to availability I bought a Stream edition. Now I know, these are NOT the exact same. Why? The Stream edition is not suported by all Logitech software, but more important, they have different firmware versions which are not compatible. There are a lot of questions in Logitech support forums about this, but no real answers.

Pro has a 13mb photo mode regular Brio is limited to 5mb photo mode. Pro comes with a 5’ cable the regular Brio comes with 7’ thicker cable.

The hardware itself, between the 2 models, is 100% exactly the same. It's literally the same camera. The difference is in the warranty. One's sold as a consumer product, the other a pro-sumer product. Pro-sumer products always carry better warranties. The cameras, though, are literally 100% the exact same.

Apparently the pro one in the coloured box is supposed to come with xplit as well. Hence why it's more expensive.. 🤔

Confusion on the cable came because one measured in meters and the other in feet. 2.2 meters is 7.2 feet. Warranties are different though, why, who knows!!

One model of this cam have a macnetic base. Is some one of this?

Isn't there a difference between them with Mega Pixels as well? The brio: at 8MP and the 4k Pro: at 12MP.

There is also STEAM Edition, which probably is with other cable (I have this one) and it has nicer insides of box (black) and pouch for holding camera or things.

Some say one is 13mp and one is 8mp. Is it true? Also do you have the difference between brio 4k pro and Brio 4k stream?

I was like a hamster spinning on a wheel with the Brio vs 4K Pro Webcam on versions, added on with the Brio 500 difference making it trickier to compare accurately.

Found a large difference, the BRIO wont do YUV2 in 4k30 on a mac, only mjpeg, and it does it with massive delay. I think its the mac drivers with the different USB ID's of the two, since they are both capable.

they have different drivers and different firmware ... I bought the stream edition to pair it with the Brio 4k Pro to have another angle but their settings don't match in OBS ... they have different colors and different white balance and the stream edition has way more noise ... STAY AWAY FROM STREAM EDITION

the firmware (Steaming) 2019-04-29 and the PRO 2021-07-26 does that mean that the Brio 4K Stream hasnt update the "Improvement made to autofocus behavior" that the PRO was improve, even if it is the "same" product

Logitech says on their website they would provide 90 FPS with 720p... however, mine is only 60 FPS. Can anyone confirm 90 FPS?

There is one difference regarding the firmware upgrades that they can receive. I noted this as I tried to upgrade the firmware on my new Brio 4K Stream but the software failed to find the device. Hi, thank you very much for the information. Wanted to buy me the Brio Stream today, but since it was unfortunately not available, I decided on the Brio Ultra HD Pro webcam. Since the differences are very marginal and only two years more guarantee is given to Brio Stream. Keep it up!

Do they have the same model number on the camera? The same FCC numbers? The Brio is "certified" with Microsoft Teams. If they are EXACTLY the same, I would think the 4K Pro Webcam would be certified, as well. 🤔 Thank you!

You only proved that the physical aspects are the same, for a product where internals and software are the defining characteristic. So you conveniently left out the conclusion, that these 2 products are by far not identical. I've just bought both, and could quickly see that: - Stream Edition is a 2nd class citizen not recognized by Logitech own firmware update utility. One must search the forums and download from an FTP the correct utility to update the firmware! - Pro is easily identified and updated - Stream Edition cannot handle average (normal room) light environments, while Pro does a better job; - Stream Edition has a poor color reproduction and produces a very pink/ yellow (depending on light) color on the skin surface. - for reference here are 2 shots, in a normal warm light room, no special lighting and an elgato green screen. imgur.com/a/G6hP6dp Don't buy Stream Edition, it's a ripoff even at "discounted" price, and Logitech should be ashamed for flooding the market for reviews on Brio 4K (Pro) and then pushing Stream Edition.

Looks like the 4K Pro is a little bit wider - has a wider case.

2:27 It would had been helpfull to look onto stickers / prints which are somewhere on the camera ... and compare product numbers or the text / description printed there.... And: It would had been good to find out & compare the USB device IDs..... Maybe the look is the same, but the USB device ID is different .... although the rest of the hardware is identical. In this case, Logitech could query the device ID in the driver and enable / disable features. As stated at Logitech, the 4K Pro comes with a 1 year warranty, the Brio with 3 years.

other different is that the Business edition actuslly supports a higher resolution 4096 x 2160 VS the retail Brio at 3840 x 2160 aka 4k. Thus business edition better specs and cheaper than retail.
