Great tutorial - camera still works after disassemble and reassemble :-) Thanks for sharing this. Had to remove the camera mount to be able to add the camera to my 3d printer.
Thanks. I had been looking for that for a long time, and it’s good to finally have an answer. That is actually the one I finally have been using. I need to fix the Zoom on at least one camera. I have 3, but even using that screwdriver I have already stripped one of the 4 screws on two of them, so I only have one undamaged one left. Is there a trick to not stripping the screws or to getting a stripped screw out? I’m also struggling to get enough force to even loosen the inner screws while at the same time being terrified to put too much pressure for fear of stripping those screws. Is it the same screwdriver for all of the screws?
Your description is really fantastic! Very accurate, very professional, very clear and very easily understandable! I would have broken it unless I'd seen your video here! Thanks and congrats! Keep up with the good work!....
Thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately I can't get the screws out, only one of 4 came off. They are screwed in so tightly that the tip of my screwdriver broke off.
thank you for this!!! I literally just wanted the camera monitor mount the c920 is attatched to for my small, but much better quality Sony zv1. Now I just need to figure out how to attach it hahaha
You're the kind of guy I would let fix my stuff! Thanks for the video!!!! My camera is producing a diffuse image (as if something inside was dusty). Any tips? Once again, Thanks!
thanks. it helps. unfortunately It seems I need to solder the wire for replacing the usb cord that my cat cut off... but I don't have a soldering iron...
Don't loose hope. The soldering job here is very simple and you can probably find a friend who can fix this for you. Especially if you send only the circuit board with the cable, so they don't have to deal with the disassembly themselves.
I actually want to open my old webcam so that I can somehow rework it so that the lens is in the middle of my monitor so I can make eye contact with people in meetings haha. Wish me luck
If i wanted to replace the cable for a usb C one instead does a usb C have the same coloured cables? I also need to waterproof the camera would i be better off painting the board with something or filling the case with sealant? cheers
I bought a new 920C and it did not work out of the box. It looks to me that Logitech made this web cam like a tank with 17 screws and clips and dropped the ball with the cable connection. Im not buying Logitech ever again.
My PC refuses to connect to my C920 HD Pro. Tried everything no luck. Check cable continuity is good. What else could I try. Have re soldered plug just in case but still no good. All help much appreciated.
@@pistelli57 Hi I bought the C920 as a faulty unit and someone had already taken it to bits but they said it was very hard to undo. The fault turned out to be the main chip so it was scrap after all. Apparently, it's a known fault and not worth fixing. The only other fault is the cable where it goes into the camera. It's a weak spot so will need resoldering. Good luck with your repair but don't spend any money on it!
@@PaulRansonArt Hi Paul! Thanks for the fast reply. The problem is as soon as I connect it, the windows recognize it as a C920 and it works for about a minute or so, and after that it turns off and I get a warning from windows that it's a unkown device. The biggest problem is to remove the screws from the lens cover. They're very very tight. I keep trying. Thanks again.
A lens would not make the infrared waves visible, unfortunately that would require a totally different optic block. Except if that optic block have an infrared filter, in which case it would be hard to remove it without damaging anything or having some dust inside, and the image may look weirdly colored on screen.
