The color options are definitely cool and I like how Logitech is stepping up with aesthetics, you can't deny that this headset will undoubtedly turn heads. Honestly though, (personal opinion) for the price point of $99.99 you can for sure cop a more efficient gaming headset from not only other companies but from Logitech themselves. The mic quality on this headset is a sure downgrade compared to other Logitech units. You can find the wireless G933s which is a solid gaming headset for $100 these days, including the infamous snow white editions. Another phenomenal review Frank, keep up the great work! Reading some of these comments, some people don't understand this is a tech channel showcasing all things tech, crap or not people...these videos are to give you insight on products before you dig into your own pockets. I agree with your price point argument. I originally bought the Razer Kraken before I upgraded to the Man O War and for the circa $100 price point the Krakens had much better mic quality, comparable to my current Man O War microphone
Edward Page If you're looking for wireless I'd save up more. if not, Steelseries, Razer, Logitech, and a couple other companies have great balanced sound quality for the ~100 price point. read more reviews on the sound and look for words like balanced or tinny, you don't want tinny sound. but like I said most companies offer a very good sound signature after you pass that $70 price point.
I like Logitech's design choice of making the microphone completely detachable. This gives manufacturers a chance to make third party microphones that might look different or have better sound quality (:
was fixing to order this setup but always check and see if RFP has reviewed said item before i buy it, glad you did a review on this headset especially the mic quality since that is what made me change my mind.
If you want a cheaper version of this headset with a better mic and want the same design, just get the g pro headset. It’s 10-20 dollars cheaper(depending where you get it from) then this one, looks very similar, and has a WAY better mic then that helicopter mic. One thing to note about the g pro is that it only comes in black which I don’t see as a big deal since you are only really buying a headsets for how it performs not how it looks
WTF! I got mine in Black and had no idea there were different colors!! But that Red really looks like Pink! lol, so I def would not have chosen that color!

wish these came in turquoise or green, really tempted to buy them, but I'm pretty sure the black ones would pick up a lot of visible white or whatever skin or dust flakes
I'm considering getting one of these just because I'm tired of fake leather that disintegrates after a year or two. Cloth will last a lot longer, and the detachable covers could be cleaned.
Philips SHP9500S (Ebay, $48.86) and Antlion ModMic 4.0 (B&H, $42.95). For $91.81 you get a GREAT headset and CLEAR mic. Drawbacks are: 1) two cables, not wireless, 2) SHP9500S are quite bright, somewhat lack mids (sound signature) and leak ALL OF the sound, and 3) ModMic is not omnidirectional and has no hardware mute ($7 more for those). Advantages are exceptionally clear audio, both playback via the SHP9500S and recording via the ModMic. Great positional audio - imaging, decent soundstage, and pretty punchy bass. Overall, excellent buy for under $100. EDIT: Also, mod-able. Add HM5 pleather pads for $25 for more bass and easier highs.
Looking back at your review of the G933, looks like Logitech had taken the feedback and create a solid base experience without all the bells and whistle. Not a fan of the mesh texture though.

Do you need a "7.1 surround sound" gaming headset if you already have a sound card with 7.1 surround sound? My question is if I went with a stereo headset, would my sound card convert it into a 7.1 surround sound headset?
Because I wear glasses I wanna know something...Sometimes my razer kraken feel like they really tighten up my head and I need to take 'em off for a bit...Does this headset do something similar or so? Would really appreciate an answer

can you do a comparison between the logitech g433 and the logitech g633? They are both the same price, and it seems the g633 has a ton more features. Idk its a hard one. I have the g633 and I love it.

John Titor After what Astro was able to do with the mic on their new a10 which is a 60 dollar headset, I will never forgive headsets for having such shitty quality mics.
NewKingBrandon Yeah, picked them up yesterday. They are seriously incredible for 60 dollars. Headband is a solid piece of steel with plastic covering, comfort is pretty good, but the best part is that mic. Best mic I've personally heard on a headset. Sound quality is almost as good as my a50 as well. Can't beat it for 60 bucks.
i bought this headset about 1 year ago and it was great, but for some reason now i can hear clearly but people can't hear me i turned up my input volume on discord but people still said that they can't hear me very well. What should i do?
The mic ruined it for me. Wanted to pick up a headset as I've recently gotten into online gaming with my friends now that we've finished high school and currently use my Jabra Elite 65t's for such tasks, not a good choice if you also like rhythm games due to input lag. Looked at G533 (I think its called that) but still a crummy mic in comparison. Anyone got good headset recommendations with a built in mic that's decent? no desk space for an external mic.

Back to the store this goes! I took you up on your recommendation to change out the pads to the velour and now I cant get the velour ones on. VERY easy to take the pads off, but next to (if not) impossible to put back on. So back to Best Buy they go. Maybe you can make a video on how to put the pads back on. Thank You
