would be great to know more about the trueforce settings with this wheel as it affects responsiveness and isn't just more haptic feedback. Just noticed that the commenter switched it off entirely, so wondering if it was left on, how it may or may not affect your settings recommendation
Karl! I was "17 minutes for the settings! I just want the numbers".... Your explanations of all the settings actually made sense! I picked up a wheel this week For 3 days, I've been sweating through my forehead and thighs & making up new swear words...Last rallycross race I won by 10 seconds and palmed the wheel the whole race! You made the game fun and I learned some good stuff! Thank You!
2022 Just tried these settings and what can I say, you carl are a genius. I expected the same old nonsense you usually get from videos about settings, but you have nailed this. It's only taken me 3 years or so to try a change, on the plus side my arms are bigger now :) Right time for rally that feels right. Thankyou man.
Hey man, I wanted to really thank you about this video. I love sim racing and I thought that I just suck... After playing with the settings you've suggested I started to finish rally courses!! I love rallying so much and I tried to do everything right but still couldn't finish stages, now I'm finishing whole events TOP 10. Thanks for helping me getting better at something I love :)
Karl, you're the man. I used your settings on my G27 with a reduced suspension setting to 7 and my overall times and car control have really improved. Thanks mate. subscribed!
Just set up my G923 and Dirt Rally 2.0 is showing my wheel, but the keyboard is default and none of the wheel inputs are bound. Do I have to input all this myself?
Dude I got the g29 yesterday, had a horrible time in dirt, literally ended 25th out of 30 in a race against bots. Tried this today with the new settings and ended first in a harder track, the wheel feels 300% better and I was at amazed at how fast I could go. thank you
Stoked to try these settings for Dirt Rally 2. 0. I've always thought heavier the better so I have to fight the wheel. I'm excited to try your settings out and see how they feel.
Thank you so much. My first impression was that i miss the fighting with the wheel part and was tempted to switch my settings back to the default, BUT i resisted this urge and was driving with these settings for about two hours. When i finally switched back to default i realized i was fighting with the wheel the whole time missing all the valuable feedback ! It was an heureka moment ! So guys, give it some time to adapt if you played with default for some hours, its worthy !
After alot of fine tuning and trying different settings, I've found -10 linearity has worked the best for me. I recommend everyone still trying to figure out their settings to try this out for a full stage and if you don't like it by then, feel free to change back to your preferred setting.
"Because it's so fucking heavy - it's just not right". Best description of wheel friction ever! Great video mate - really helped with my G920 and Dirt 2.
wow, just amazing, just picked up my wheel, and i went from sunday driving and barely staying on track half the time to tearing through finland like a bat out of hell half of the time.
I've bought a full play seat and logitect g29 and by far mate you've got the setting I've tried other setting from other youtubers but by far yours is the best thanks for advice and the content mate really appreciate it
Duuude! Thanks so much!. I just got the Logitech G29 delivered today and it's been such a pain to drive with and trying to adjust all these settings. Your setting are by far the best. Thanks again!.
Got Xbox one X for Christmas and tried playing Dirt 2.0 virtually unplayable on the G920,I loaded your settings and it’s a different game so thankyou and happy new year.
Thank you very much. Works perfectly with G923 and PS4. I will personalize these settings, but they are the best baseline for me so far. I can finally feel the car and not crash it. I can rely on my feelings now, instead of visual cues only.
This video is exactly what I’ve been looking for to set up my steering wheel, the in depth explanations helped me understand what was being use for what and so on.
Thanks it works for my t150 ;) That's my first wheel and I'm using it with ps4 . I own this wheel for 2 weeks and I spent more time messing with settings than actually playing . Its gonna be easier now because finally i know how they work
For anyone trying to find an actual fix to heavy steering/or just to set up, this video is really good well done @Ryan Gosling for such a great explanation and taking time out of your day to go in depth thanks mate big up 😝
8:30 really good justification for the clutch saturation. I drive a manual car and yes, fully disengaged clutch is about 50% of the way through the pedal's travel. Great setting to do in a game like this, thanks.
just wanted to say this really improved my gameplay. Ive played about 1-2months now using the wheel's default settings but adjisting it to the settings used in the video is like day and night. I've gone from coming mid to last place to consistently coming 1st place in career mode lol. Thanks again bro
It felt so light on G29, so i have put self ali on 70, wheel friction on 30 and tyre fric on 40. little heavier on pin turns but very solid, thanks man!
Thanks mate am gonna try playing with these settings. Just got this wheel today, feels great for gran turismo but I took a Cossie to Wales in Dirt 2 and had to laugh at how uncontrollable I found it 🤷♂️
The best settings I found are 70 for self aligning torque, 60 for wheel friction 60 for tire friction 110 for tire suspension (this is the one thing that in my opinion dirt rally doesn’t have enough force feedback in by default) and everything else can be left alone
BRAKE SATURATION!!! This is the setting i've been needing because i have to press the brake super hard and it stills feels the car doesnt slow down as it should. Thank you!!!!
Dude what an amazing video. Got my Wheel Last night & haven't tried your settings yet but the detail to each one is excellent and bloody hilarious 🤣 well done!
Thank you for not just telling me what settings to use but actually taking the time to explain them. That really helped thanks. Liked and subbed. Will check back for more content soon. All the best mate 👍
I always think it's better to explain and give people the knowledge and understanding to make adjustments themselves... rather than just saying "do this and do that"... thanks mate! :)
Very professional and useful explanation, appreciate it. I've just bought one of those wheels and was looking for a decent setup. Got into rallye again. Last time I've played was with a friend and his Fanatec setup. But I didn't wanted to spend too much money, cause it's actually the first time I've got a racing wheel myself. After watching some other videos of yours regarding the G920/G29 series, I'm convinced that I'll probably get my fun out of it for now. Plus, as far as I can tell you're doing a good job on those videos. Sympathetic, everything well explained, providing a good insight. And of course no annoying personality. Regards from germany!
Brilliant mate i just got a g923 and your explanation of each setting was lethal i can use that info in other racing sims now too, thanks for explaining them.
This REALLY helps after changing these settings i started making some top 100 times, never thought that would happen! The tyre friction and wheel friction settings seem to make a world of diffrence! Thanks!
Had problems with my g923 and did try these settings and it got a hell lot of better. So it works for the 923 as well if u want to update the title. Also wanna pointout that I have trueforce off in the settings for the G923, Awsome video great info.
You actually made a tutorial video enjoyable and surprisingly funny at times lol. I'm lead down in my bed rn lol but tommorow il definitely try this, as yes, it was too focken heavy 🤣. Dam im glad im british
Thanks for this. Tried to mess with it, because stock settings are way too heavy. My settings had the wheel being very unsteady but lighter. Thanks for this now i can finally get a good setting on mine
Thank you so much for your help. I now use your recommended settings both for dirt 2 and assetto corsa. I’ve been tweaking for hours but didn’t really find a setting which I liked. Thanks to you I can finally spend my freetime driving my games instead of tweaking it. Great explenation what each setting do. Keep up the good work!
Bloody great advice, thanx heaps. I will try it whern i get home from work. I was getting really frustrated with DR2.0 and this looks like it might get me back on track. YOU ROCK
Excellent video, you really did explain things in such an easy to understand way, I really do sit there dumbfounded sometimes trying to set up my wheel, this has really helped immensely! 👍 and you cracked me up numerous times 😆 well done chap! 🍺
Great video and just what i was looking for. Just started returning to sim racers as got a new cockpit. my only comment would be on Dirt, i tend to have the soft lock off and reduce the wheel to 540 for a little more responsiveness. eitherway, ingame settings are pretty much spot on for me. thanks
Wow idk how I just found this video. I like to practice stages on a sim because because I want to simulate a real stage, not because I wanna play a game. I’ve worked and worked trying to find the perfect settings for this game and my settings were so similar to yours. I tried yours and that slight change made all the difference, can’t believe this video came out a year ago and another year of my practice could’ve been so much better if I’d see this😂. Thanks dawg, keep up the amazing work.
Cheers for the video, good job! Throttle is 100%, Clutch is 95% and Brake is hitting only 30%.... I don't play via PC, so I can't adjust the sense on the brakes with Logitech G HUB, BUT using the option: Options & Extras > Input > Connected Devices > Edit Device > Advanced Settings > Brake Saturation > Changed to 30, since I only got it down to 30% in the calibration and then press APPLY! :) Also... I don't have the option 'Tyre friction', I suppose they removed it in some update.
Ey Karl ! I watched a few of your videos as i got a g29 and i bought it with a incomplete xrocker chair and a shifter. Anyways thanks for this video! As i couldn't figure out how can i change the force feedback!😆 it was so hard to turn specifically if you're using your manual gearbox and you have to turn one handed! I have the dirt 4 but it's pretty similar..! I was playing gt sport and the setting was simply called force feedback! 😊 In dirt looks like it's a combination of other things to enable you bring that force down!.. Verry good explaining how and why! Well done !
I don’t know why but hearing this man swear actually made me smile... I’m watching all these youtubers who pretend like they just came out of Sunday church or Friday mosque.
Thanks! Loved your settings for WRC 8; Dirt Rally 2.0 was just dropped off by the post man so I’m going with your recommendations right off the hop👍 for that game as well.
I much prefer the way DR2 feels over WRC 8 so enjoy it mate, it's awesome! Also, watch last nights video on DR Soft Lock, really important feature to setup correctly.
