Logrolling a patient 

This video is part of a new series of basic clinical skills videos.
It demonstrates how to logroll a patient with a suspected spinal injury. This is useful for examining the back of the patient or moving the patient onto a stretcher while maintaining inline stabilisation of the c-spine.
There is evidence that logrolling causes significant movement in an unstable spine and so other techniques such as straddle lift and slide or scoop stretcher are considered superior.
