Sort of Kletzmer music, love it....there is really a big affinity between finnish, karelian and estonian soul and hungarian soul...I lived for 14 years in Hungary, since 2016 in Estonia and Greece too...yep, I can feel it everyday.
Finnish is a language that is rarely ever tamed by foreigners. I am Danish, and I speak Russian, English, Armenian, and my mother language. I have been studying Finnish for two years and it has bested me thus far.
Maybe because u've been learning only indoeuropean langauges (which all have simillar structure) so far and that's why u can't handle finnish since it's totally different.

@@DrBitchcraft. I think Tolkien study finnish over 19 years (I can be wrong) just he chould read the finnish-karelian epos Kalevala. I have one thoose books which is now banned due the symbols have been used by nazi regime. Like the Swastika is I understand is the symbol for the sun. In the olden days Swastika was used for good. Thats why India and tibet have Swastika, specially Buddha have Swastika in his heart. To bad people releated to the nazi. (sorry my broken english)
the violin at the end sounds...slightly untuned at certain parts? Is it correct to put it this way? Anyway is there a name for this type of playing? I really love it.
Mostly formal, some informal mixed there, maybe to fit better in the melody and rhythm. It's also filled with a lot of poetic word order - a common feature in songs, for example: '(a) fair day' put to '(a) day fair', like English can do as well.
They are related; both are descendants of Proto-Uralic, but that doesn't explain why the song sounds "oddly Hungarian", as they are so distantly related. The song sounding like Hungarian is probably just a coincidence.
+Gerbert Thorne Hungarian and Finnish are in fact related; they are both members of the Uralic group of languages. The Sami languages of northern Europe along with Estonian are also members of the Uralic languages.
It's nice to know that there are people out there that appreciate the linguistic as well as the musical uniqueness of the Uralic peoples of Europe. Like my Celtic ancestors, our cultures and languages are in danger of being overrun by the Indo-European speakers.
