Lollar Pickups' Shop Sessions is a performance series that features an assortment of artists playing a variety of styles. All filmed live in a single take right here in the Lollar production shop. There's no talking, no sales pitch, and no sterile sound demos or pickup specs. It's just musicians making music. As much as we're sure you'll find these videos enjoyable to listen to and watch, we also hope that they can offer a better idea of how our products sound in the context of a performance.
In this episode, we welcome Jeff Fielder and Johnny Sang ster into the shop.
Jeff Fielder (www.jefffielde...) is a musical stalwart of the Pacific Northwest and at large, having worked as a musician, engineer, and producer for decades. Beyond his own work as an artist, his credits include time alongside or in the booth for many others, including Mark Lanegan, Duff McKagan, Amy Ray, and Sera Cahoone. He can be seen playing with his wife, singer/songwriter Tekla Waterfield, or with his band Painted Shield, which features a ‘who’s who’ of veteran musicians including Stone Gossard, Matt Chamberlain, Brittany Davis, and Mason Jennings.
Signal chain: Fender American 52 reissue ThinSkin Telecaster with a Lollar Special T in the bridge and Novel Foil neck; Marshall SV20H on a 1x12 Cab with a Celestion Vintage 30.
Johnny Sangster’s (www.cracklepop...) work as a producer, guitarist, and engineer dates to the 1990s, spanning multiple continents. Currently working with The Tripwires and Braly Sangster; his resume is dotted with work on projects by artists like Neko Case, The Posies, Mudhoney, Mark Lanegan, and countless others. More recently, he has focused primarily on production and recording at his studio, Crackle and Pop!, located in Seattle, WA, where he works with varied artists, from the storied and well-established to up-and-comers.
Signal chain: Creston Baritone with Lollar Jazzmaster pickups; '60s Epiphone Pathfinder

I have the Special T set and love it to bits! Not the same as my beloved Baja Tele pups but that's just great as these two teles of mine give me different flavours!

Great stuff. It wouldn’t hurt to post the signal chain as well as what model of pickups were used for each performances. I’m certain you will have more than 2 or 3 Tele players in the next few episodes. Knowing which set of pickups they use would be a great tool when the time comes to chose mine. Thanks

Finally. Was tired of pointing to Jeff Senn (brilliant touch!) & rest of em all the time. Tired of using words for your pickups; just listen & if you don't get it Fk off. PS... would be nice to know pedals used as well...;

Music in it's pure form, rare. Ordered a set of your Telecaster 52 pickups last week, can't wait to play them!

That's a beautiful piece of work! I get the no commentary during the video about specs and whatnot, but it would be nice to know about the guitars in the video description text.

False advertising! I have a Novel T (LP Studio bridge position), and I don’t sound anywhere near as good as these guys. 😤
