This week we are firing up our Weber Kettle for some London Broil. This is perfect for Father’s Day as it’s quick and easy.
We started with a 3 pound London broil. Since London Broil is lean it takes well to a marinade.
¼ cup veg oil
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons Montreal Steak Rub
Place the London Broil in a bag and cover with the marinade. Marinate at least 1 hour but it can go up to overnight.
Once the marinade process is done it’s time to get some seasoning. We used our Texas Rub.

We fired up our Weber Kettle with some lump charcoal. Once they were good and hot we dumped in the coals, put on our grate with our GrillGrates and let it come up to temp. We wanted the surface temp on our GrillGrates to be above 500. These were over 600.
Once our grill stabilized we put a sear on each side. We did 2 min with a twist followed by another 2 min for each side.
After 8 total min of searing, we moved it to the cool side to let it finish out. We used a Thermoworks DOT to monitor the internal temperature and set it for 128.
Once we hit 128, we removed the London Broil and let it rest 10-15 min. Remember to slice AGAINST the grain when you cut it! On the ends, it will be a little more done which is perfect for those guests who like it that way!

Super easy to follow. Just a couple of tweaks-> Couldn't find your rub recipe so I used my favorite: Weber Chicago Steak. I also sear with the cover off to direct more heat to the meat. Turned out to be the best London Broil ever. Everyone loved it. Thanks S&S!

Finally someone who grills it like I learned from my father, except I use Italian salad dressing for my marinade. I pierce the meat before I marinate. Looks great!

I love to beat my meat with a mallet to tenderize it so it's nice

I was thinking, why not tenderize before marinading? Get that marinade into the meat.

I always use Thermoworks Products. I use the DOT as a probe so I don’t have to open the lid and a Thermapen for as an instant read. They have a variety of other options that include Bluetooth options so you can see what’s going on right on your phone. They are a little more expensive then say your Walmart thermometers but they are 100000% worth it. Thanks for checking out the video!

Sweet & Savory BBQ I’m sorry to have asked in haste because I saw “after” I commented that you had that the thermometer in your comments (my bad). All the same thanks for responding! I’m ordering one tonight. After I did some research, I see the brand being a good one. Thanks again! Our London broil was slightly overdone but won’t be next time and we all loved the marinade and rub! 👍🤣👍

If you like it a little more on the rare side you can try pulling it at 120-122.

@@sweetsavorybbq1083 Thanks and I'll do exactly that when the "DOT" thermometer arrives (I did order one last night). Very excited about learning to get a London broil done right!

Did something real similar recently, that I loved! That’s why I looked up this video. Yours definitely turned out better. Here are the fundamental differences. I reverse seared mine. And I marinated it in beef broth with a little Worchester and Montreal steak seasoning. Then after an hour when I came out of the marinade I coded it with Stubbs beef rub. The flavor was legit! Next time I will try your method, my only complain about my London broil’s it turned out a little bit on the dry side, however the flavor was on point!

Quick, easy meal for dad.... Please put in minimal effort, as dad always said, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing quick and easy." :)

I Made two london broils on my weber kettle today. After jaccarding, I marinating it over night with olive oil, salt and Weber Steak seasoning. Next day I seared for four minutes on each side then moved the meat over to the warm side put the lid on for about 20 minutes until 140 deg internal temp. I Let it sit for 10 min then sliced against the grain and it came out so tender and juicey with tons of flavor. Thank You to "Sweet and Savory BBQ" You Rock!

I want to say it was somewhere around 20 min or so! Honestly I was just going by the internal temperature so didn’t pay much attention to the times

Why don't you have the vents over the meat instead of the fire? it promotes better smoke flavor and a more even indirect cook.
@sweetsavorybbq1083
@sweetsavorybbq1083 4 года назад
We did this to try and get the hot side as hot as we could for searing. For true smoking we would have done that. But in this instance the cool side is just to finish the cooking process more than smoking it.
