Starting your walk from Leicester Square you’re right in the heart of London’s entertainment district. The square is full of energy, with cinemas, theatres, and street performers creating a lively atmosphere. As you leave the square, head along Coventry Street towards Piccadilly Circus. The walk is short, just a few minutes, but it’s packed with activity. As you get closer, you’ll spot the iconic neon billboards and the statue of Eros, marking the vibrant, buzzing atmosphere of Piccadilly Circus.
Once you've taken in the energy of Piccadilly Circus, make your way up Regent Street, one of London's grandest shopping streets. This stretch is elegant and lined with beautiful architecture, with sweeping curves of buildings that give it a unique and stately feel. Walking north, you’ll pass high-end shops, including the famous Hamleys toy store, and the prestigious Liberty department store further up. It’s a great place for window shopping or indulging in some of the best retail therapy London has to offer.
Continuing up Regent Street, you’ll eventually reach Oxford Circus, one of London’s busiest intersections. Here, Oxford Street crosses Regent Street, creating a bustling junction that is alive with both shoppers and tourists. If you’re in the mood for more shopping, Oxford Street offers a wealth of options from high-street brands to luxury stores.
After spending some time exploring, turn left onto Oxford Street and continue your walk until you reach Bond Street, a short distance away. Bond Street is synonymous with luxury, home to world-famous designer shops, including Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel. It’s a shopper’s paradise, especially if you’re in the mood for high-end fashion and jewelry.
Next, retrace your steps and make your way back down Oxford Street toward Oxford Circus. From here, you’ll head back towards Piccadilly Circus, this time retracing your route along Regent Street. Once at Piccadilly Circus, turn onto Shaftesbury Avenue. This iconic street is known for its theatres, placing you in the heart of the West End. If you’re a theatre fan, you’ll love walking past venues that host world-class performances and musicals. The street is always busy, with the buzz of pre-show crowds and the glow of theatre lights filling the air.
A little further down Shaftesbury Avenue, turn into Chinatown, an entirely different atmosphere awaits. The vibrant red lanterns hanging overhead, the smell of delicious food, and the colorful storefronts instantly transport you to another world. Chinatown is the place to be if you're craving authentic Chinese cuisine or looking to experience a different cultural vibe in the middle of London.
From Chinatown, it’s just a short walk back to where you started at Leicester Square. Now filled with the energy of the tour, you’ve experienced the perfect blend of shopping, culture, and entertainment, all within a compact part of central London. It’s a journey through some of the city's most iconic areas, where every corner offers something unique.
