RARE - A convoy of appliances from the London Fire Brigade seen responding to an incident in Bethnal Green. Featuring a Fire Rescue Unit, 2 MAN Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) modules and a Pump Ladder, all from H27 Battersea Fire Station. Notice how the MAN trucks have two tone horns as well as normal sirens.

Love the 2 tones.. 1st demountable has french ones and then there are some old 2 tones which used to be on appliances years ago on the 2nd demountable. All using different 2 tones to indicate that there is more than one vehicle in the convoy.

That's not a reserve pump ladder, that's a dual crewed (double jumped) front line pump ladder from Battersea. The two USAR modules and the FRU are from Battersea too.

The brigade had to rip up a floor and knock part of a wall down in order to get the defused bomb out as the stairs were too narrow.

Hello bluelight TV, I wonder how did you catch this video ? Did you just wait at the corner of the street and keep patient and catch every emergency video pass through ? Or did you have radio transmiiter or something like this to catch the frequence of emergency station ?
@northoltflightwatch
@northoltflightwatch 8 лет назад
+Antonio Gravita FirePoAm In the UK it isn't possible to use radios to listen to emergency service frequencies. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time even though I knew the incident was nearby.

I was interested to know at which London fire stations their New Dimensions vehicles are based. That’s the four USAR teams, the ten IRUs, the six HVPUs, the two DIM units, the three Dis-robe modules, and, finally, the two Re-robe modules. But according to LFB’s own website, the location of all of its New Dimensions assets is sensitive and is not suitable for general release. The only one I know is Lambeth run a DIM unit. So can anybody help me fill in the blanks? Cheers in advance.

That’s three types of two tone there. First vehicle has an Aussie Hilo siren, 2nd one has a German siren, then the third with a traditional British two tone.

Wow never got to see the USAR responding, great video. When I went to London last summer I went to the Central Croydon fire station (H31) and they had 2 of these there I think, I'm not sure if they are the same type of units but they had a pump ladder, reserve pumper like the last unit in this video and 2 of those MAN trucks but they were newer...perhaps you could research those units I'm talking about and tell me if their the same?
@northoltflightwatch
@northoltflightwatch 8 лет назад
+Greater Toronto Area Emergency Videography Yeah Croydon has 2 (i think) USAR rigs there along with 2 pumps and an FRU. Probably the same age as these as all of the new dimension vehicles were bought around the same time. These ones are from Battersea.

There are only two-tone horns on the prime movers! and they have a manual gearbox, whereas the pump & fire rescue units are automatic.
@CobraEmergency
@CobraEmergency 9 лет назад
Robert Mansfield If the prime-movers are the same as all the New Dimension setup, they'll also have wail/yelping sirens, right? Heard it on a few videos of New Dimension vehicles.
@robertmansfield1028
@robertmansfield1028 9 лет назад
There are 2 prime movers at a station near where I live (Croydon) and everytime I have seen them going out on a call, they have had two-tones. I think that the same applies to all prime movers up and down the country.
@CobraEmergency
@CobraEmergency 9 лет назад
I think it's because the two-tone horns are default on the siren. There's an option to change it to wail/yelp. That's what I think anyway. I may be wrong. You're right it applies to all prime movers up and down the country, as a part of the New Dimensions scheme. A Government scheme that has supplied the services with these vehicles and equipment which are national resources and can be used anywhere in the UK. The prime-movers how-ever don't just carry modules (containers), there's other prime-movers, modified, as part of the New Dimensions scheme, for High Volume Pumps and Mass Decontamination Incident Response Units. You'll notice all these prime-movers look the same and have a very similar plate, as they're all made and registered in the same area and issued under the New Dimensions scheme. Going back to the sirens, I've heard in person an Incident Response Unit, which is a part of the New Dimensions scheme, using wail/yelping sirens. And just as I'd finished typing all that, I found a USAR Prime-Mover, from the New Dimensions scheme, using wail/yelping sirens in Liverpool (Operated by Merseyside, but it is a New Dimensions Government supplied vehicle - this is the same in London) and also uses the two-tone horns momentarily. I would share the link but RU-vid seems to think every link is an advertisement spam, so type www . youtube . com / watch?v=4tZWnR8DPjM but without the spaces :).
@CobraEmergency
@CobraEmergency 9 лет назад
Here it is again: www . youtube . com / watch?v=xl62M2zq7qo I find it funny they use the wail/yelp siren when Merseyside are well known to use their two-tone horns. How-ever here's several Merseyside USAR vehicles using two-tone horns: www . youtube . com watch?v=MFk0zDFWm0M
