She is the greatest of all. Never dropped out in any of her races even when not in her favor. As most Kenyans, a very humble and simple person with a heavy focus in training as they should do unlike many other ‘elites’ marathoners expecting good results and/or justifying bad results as consequences of poor training or just thinking of entitlements...
Wow.. around the two mile mark, keitani's cadence was upwards of 200spm. And she still has a long stride.. it's amazing to be able to keep that up the entire time.
Cram, Foster and Radcliffe were terrible! Mary Keittany, the second fastest woman ever, kept breaking records throughout and finally won with a world record marathon but all they could say throughout was that she had misjudged the pace, that she couldn't keep it up, that she was slowing, her stride was shortening. And then at the end rather than celebrating a world record in London they had to make her world record a qualified one because Radcliffe had gone faster when she ran alongside men. What a bunch of bitter has-beens to commentate on such an inspiring event. Lets hope the chemistry changes with Foster's retirement.
I'm here after Kosgei smashed the world record,it was such a beautiful feeling, commentary was negative but it doesn't matter what they say, the results speak for themselves,
Such a shame Keitany overlooked the first half; she could have dumped Paula’s record in the dustbin, which would have been fine with me. So sick of hearing about it.
Paula this, Paula that....Mo Farah this, Mo Farah that.......but Kenyans/ Ethiopians always triumphs.....especially for Kenyans, the hate is unwarranted.
every time it seemed that Bekele was getting closer and closer, Wanjiru just kept on finding another gear and another gear. That last mile that Wanjiru covered in 427 tells me that he could have ran quite likely 5 or 7 seconds faster if need be. In other words the Kenyan won the race with plenty left in the tank. Bekele's thoughts in those last moments were most likely, " I'll just have to wait for another day."
This is brave running imagine running aware that bekele is behind you surely this man wanjiru is a hero beating the all time great it is like beating kipchoge now
I always said (and still do!) that Bekele has one of the best running forms I have ever seen. Just a workhorse of a runner. Smooth and efficient. But after watching Wanjiru gracefully run across the road who at times appeared to be floating, comparing both Bekele and Wanjiru in the same race, boy, it looks like Bekele is working really hard vs Wanjiru who looks like he's out for a morning jog.
At the end of the day, All Praises and Honor to The Most High YAH To HIM Be The Glory NOW And Forever, for HIS The One who gave us Kenyans this victories, HALLELUYAH
The London marathon has always been my favorite but this years broadcast wasn't a pleasure to watch. So much negativity from the commentators especially with Keitany, they even did a whole segment shaming Sumgong which I think is hypocritical when they're sitting down next to the so-called "female marathon record holder". A convincing 2:15 marathon... Yeah right!
I know everyone thought Paula's record would never be broken. However, runners are getting better and better (drugs or no drugs), so it was bound to happen. Mary Keitany has been running very well since coming back from her pregnancy.
The brotherly camaraderie shared between these top Kenyan and Ethiopian athletes at the finish line stand in stark contrast to the hate and ill-feeling spewed out by the BBC commentators. It is really painful to the ears as they pour out venom against the Kenyan winners.Well, too bad for them..they won.Couldn't turn back the clock now, could they?
actually there isn't a lot of Ethiopian out sprinting Kenyans this days. Ethiopians and Kenyans will always be switching to and fro. so never be sure about any of them. it's there special thing and they like it that way.
Wanjiru had a look on his face, as if he seriously was afraid of being slaughtered by Bekele. Maybe that was the mindlie that carried him (actually both) to such an amazing finishing pace. What a race.
What a superb performance by Dibaba in her second marathon. How stupid to spout off about 'how much she has to learn' about the marathon. She gets the third fastest time in history after puking on the side of the road?! Most elites would give their eye teeth to run like her.
Kudos #PaulaRandiclif for professional commentator, one of the male was so biased towards #MaryKeitany, but who had the last laugh, same he kept talking how Kenanise will perform but again #SamuelWanjiru proved him wrong.. kudos Keitany and Wanjiru
If I'm not mistaken they are hired specifically for pacing and their assignment is simply to run a certain distance at a certain pace. I do believe that the runners have some input in the bahavior of the pacers (depending upon their strategy... winning a race requires a very different strategy than a world record attempt). I believe it's very uncommon for pacers to finish the race because in order to keep the pace for the elite, they are likely running beyond their own full marathon pace. If they could comfortably run at elite pace and then still beat the runners they were pacing, they'd probably be signed up to compete rather than to pace. Just my opinions. I'm no expert in pro marathoning.
The commentator is saying how pleased that Dibaba has stopped looking over her shoulder ...... Ummmm she probably doesn't care about your opinion Mr commentator.....
Maybe because it's a British race? It happens at all the Majors like the USA (New York/Boston/Chicago) they route for the American women and men, Japan Tokyo they pay a lot of attention to the Japanese Berlin the same. Do you even watch any other races?
Not a world record, Paula has that by a large margin. It's weird that they count this because she ran only with women and Paula had a pacemaker, so what?
@@ayatollahofarocknrolla403 Are you sure. Kenya are not cheats, they are the greatest distance runners by a lot....bure kabisa......and Kenya is being faced by dipping issues just like other countries.
