Thank goodness, an American tourist's video without the 'usual suspects', but 1 mark deducted for 'it was featured for a few seconds in a movie 25 years ago' shop. I am appalled that that pub was 'plastic only', we are all doomed to be spied on 24 hours a day and totally controlled only a few years from now!
FYI, the market is only on Fridays and Saturdays. So while you did visit Portobello Rd, you clearly didn't visit on a market day. Portobello Rd is incredibly busy on market days and usually crammed with people - many of them tourists. Regarding the souvenir shops; they seem cheap because they're full of cheap, mass-produced tat and are neither owned nor run by Londoners. Avoid them like the plague. If you want a real souvenir try visiting Portobello on a market day.
We did a Google search for the market before going and Google lists the market as open every day. Obviously that’s wrong and hence our market tour day became a pub crawl day and we had a great time anyway 😄
