Yep it was a operation fire station during filming, all they did was move the appliances outside if they got a call while they filmed in the yard or bay area

Djstevester5 : I agree or at least a new firefighting drama. But I believe the trouble is that a firefighting series is expensive to make. Without it feeling like a 'soap opera ' viewers would expect a fire or rescue every week. Where as the likes of a hospital or police series where they could get away with having an episode or two based in a courtroom or someone having a heart attack which would cost next to nothing compared to having a car crash or burning building. Unless a production company or broadcaster can guarantee high ratings I don't think they will commit to a firefighting series. Sky recently did a series - The Smoke, and did fairly well in the ratings, but just not enough for them to commit a second series. With so many channels and ways to view the programming on offer these days, long gone the days where London's Burning we're peaking 19+ million viewers a week.

Too be honest I hated the smoke, It was awfully written show, The LFB had nothing to do with it and didn't give any technical advise, The firefighters were portrayed badly, One was seen if I remember trying to get out of work by faking an injury, And don't get me on the lead characters story-line, Flashing his injuries at his commander at a public event in the first episode but yet continued to do his job like that never happened? I know it's a drama but there's a limit to believably here. And Jamie Bamber does a better American accent then a cockney one and his from Hammersmith!!!

I loved the series when I was younger and when I bought the series 1-7 and series 8-14, I realised I loved the series 1-10, but series 11-13 I couldn't really stand cause if that Heather Peace or whatever her name is and series 14 I didn't know what was really going on.

SPF SPF Firefighting has become more community orientated over the years. They like to bring the public in now and promote the good work they do. Stop living in the dark ages. The appliance bays were also built on an age where appliances were smaller and less developed.

Unlike this new station, the old one had room fot three appliances.

@Ryan I could be wrong, but I think compared to older appliances, the modern ones are larger and wider.

And the station wasn't disused... It was very much active!!

The amount of mistakes and inaccurate reporting made by the Presenter of London Tonight and the Reporter Ronke Phillips is unbelievable. Considering it was a London Weekend Television programme, it is incredible that this clip even made it to ‘air’. Nevertheless it was brilliant to see most of the cast as they are today. Thanks for posting the clip.
