You are far & away the brightest star on this quest for finding holistic practitioners on Long Covid. I loved your video and look forward to seeing more!
@lindabueckert9559 Thanks for sharing your story. It's true that fish oil can make you feel better as it did for me in my 20's. The problem comes in as the mercury from these build up in your body over time. You may have already watched my brain fog, if not, I share the ingredients of a smoothie to help detoxify the heavy metals and other toxins we are exposed to. Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l_qRVjv0MK8.html
@@lindabueckert9559 Cod Liver Oil is high in mercury as well. Probably worse than just fish oil as the liver filters toxins and if the fish has a lot, it's liver will have a lot.
Alternatives to these supplements or any advice on things to take? What's your view on quercetin/nattokinaise/bromelin for long covid. Or probiotics? Thanks
Thanks for being here Sarah! I covered supplements to take for Long COVID in a couple videos: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-piH9UP_ZyPE.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p3BSf-9SKlU.html. It’s impossible without knowing more about your situation to give you specific guidance on quercetin/nattokinaise/bromelin. These compounds are found naturally in many of the foods I recommend in my guide. If you haven't checked out my guide, you can get that here: anxietydepressionrecovery.com/. It contains everything you need to get started with all the right foods.
My personal experience is completely the opposite of what this woman recommends. I was one of the first people in the country to get covid and since the doctors didn't know shit about it, I ended up treating myself for covid, long covid, side effects from the vaccine. Every supplement I took made me feel better and they included everything she mentions here.
@susanferguson4271 thanks for being here! My empirical experience (personally and with clients) has been that collagen has done nothing for bone and joint health. I have had much greater success pulling out gluten, dairy, eggs and excess fats and adding in lots of celery juice, leafy greens, silica, and MSM. Obviously this is a general response and each individual may require a different individualized approach.
Hello @Yazzie101! So glad you are here. Your vitamin c capsule was likely made with ascorbic acid which is very acid and hard on the stomach. Check out the video where I get specific on the right form of vitamin c that should not upset your tummy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IJ2xT9VbQpw.html
@@oliverbird6914 that's interesting. Can you tell me more about the whole foods vitamin c that people aren't tolerating? Peoples different reactions are very interesting to me. I get very curious and the health detective in my wants to figure out what's going on in someones body that might be causing these reactions. I don't see a lot of other practitioners analyzing at this level of detail.
@@carriebaileynutritionist I've had m.e. for twenty years and I got into mast cells because initially fresh orange juice drunk in pints( designated driver) made me have no anxiety or pain. Doctors said it was the sugar rush..but no other sugar did that. For a fair time, that's all I needed but as the disease has progressed ascorbic acid or fresh fruit stopped working I switched to whole food vitamin c when I found out about how ascorbic acid strips you of copper and nutrients ( deZpite paulus lining living til 90 odd on it).perhaps intravenously whole food vitamin c may work but anyway I've tried delivery just ruins my stomach. Also many people paradoxically have vitamin c allergy through fruit. Trust me on this. I've been in hundreds of forums throughout the years and it's common in mme. Especially for northern Europeans who genetically were not privacy to eating say, kiwi. The fruit whole food ended up hurting my bones . What I can take surprisingly is quercetin which is a mast cell stabiliser as you'll know. There's a mechanism which is talked about by m.e. scientists that explains how quercetin works. But I believe we have to eat according to our genetics and ancestry and what everyone can eat really changes through life doesn't it. The less I eat the better I feel but obvs that's not advisable. I can recommend some of my regine. Magnesium spray. Much better than oral. Occasional chromium ( yeast version to not be hard on the kidneys, but he careful with that be) Black seed oil...fantastic stabiliser..massive anti inflammatory. Justcrub it into your skin ( again check kidney function before use and cycle it) Quercetin leuttolin. Both very good at stabilizing mast cells. Vit complex...make sure you start low and add co factors such as potassium iodine, preferably from diet otherwise it'll stress your adrenals at first. Keep hydrated too with electrolytes and water. Milk thistle extract for the liver A great one to protect your DNA, probably my best new addition is broccoli seed extract. Very good. Check your thyroid first. I use chlorella and a binder for heavy metals which calms the mast cells. Selenium and zinc to help with that. A collection of amino acids seems to help strengthen my stomach. Lastly I'd recommend pynagenol. Stopped my anxiety in its tracks at first. Bio Nord is a fantastic company for that. Medical grade supplement. It has suramin in it, in tiny amounts which is an anti purigenic mast cell stabiliser. Obviously everyone is different. Also leave off carbs and sugar. It's very difficult to do. When really bad. I use adaptogen like lions mane or gingko biloba etc. They can take me out of a crash while I pace myself and relax. Hope this helps
@@carriebaileynutritionist I think people who have been ill for a long time start having weird paradoxical reactions. Their resilience, collagen integrity , immune responses are so out of whack that they can't be rescued as easily.nlije I say when I started this horrific journey..orange juice would sort me out
Hi @azmike1! People that are sick or struggling with health symptoms need 2,000 micrograms or more per day of B12. I talked about B12 in more detail in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zwqma2gapEE.html
@@drolga5071 Thanks for being here. I am sorry to hear that B12 did nothing to you and covered you in spots instead. The questions I would ask are: 1. Which form of B12 did you take? 2. Was it sublingual? 3. What was the dosage? 4. What other ingredients were in the B12 that you took? 5. Were you taking methylfolate also? I cover B12 in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uu30JPaIrmA.html. I cover methylation and reactions in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NOD87yUaG20.html
@@drolga5071 It could have been cyanocobalamin which is synthetic and not very effective. If it was methylB12 and you are not methylating well, that would explain the reaction. If you aren't methylating well, you will need hydroxyB12 in very high doses daily. It could take a week or two, but you will see a difference. I cover this in the videos I shared with you.
Hi @acemcgillicutty4420! Krill is technically fish too. There are a couple other sources of Omega 3's I recommend. Sea vegetables in the form of algae and seaweed will provide you with omega 3s. 1. Nori which is used to make sushi. 2. Spirulina which you can get in powder form. I cover spirulina in my video on brain fog - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l_qRVjv0MK8.html. Another option is this algae based omega 3 - amzn.to/4b0cWgY.
So what are you supppsrd to do if you can’t eat those things? If I could eat those things and didn’t get severe reactions my life would be so much better h easier. My partner was prescribed collagen for her vaginal issues, she also can’t eat fruits and vegetables. Also fish oil is the only thing that gets rid of the swelling in my fingers , apart from ibuprofen. Seems like it’s literally impossible to win, cuz every one is saying everything is bad. Ajso dr Brad Stanfield presented compelling studies, including multiple randomised trials, double blind studies that show multivitamins are great for cognitive health, thing is you need quality multivitamins.
Thanks for all your great questions. I am truly sorry that there is so much contradictory info out there! The most challenging part of answering questions here in the comments is that I don't know all the pieces of the puzzle. I don't know your history or what you are currently eating and supplementing with. So let me just ask some questions... Have you and your wife tried to eat a just ripe, yellow banana first thing in the morning before consuming anything else and then wait 1 hour before eating anything else? If so, how did that go? What was the response or reaction? Can you repeat this process with another food like just steamed potatoes or just steamed sweet potatoes?
