Andrew Andras holds the Guinness World Record for the farthest distance traveled on a skateboard in 24 hours. CNN follows him to Oregon where he attempts to take home a prize in the 10k.
This video is great. The sport is amazing and needs more publicity. The feeling of floating and pushing your limits on 4 wheels is an uncomparable one. It's the same as biking, just more fun.
Ok, so this is an old video, but does anyone know what skate tool he uses? Also, what helmet is he using towards the end of the video (the black helmet with the bill). Thanks for any help; I've tried searching for both of these things but I'm having trouble finding them.
This is an LDP (long-distance pushing) top mount drop down longboard for specificity's sake, at least for me i don't care if we're called skaters but i don't like being called a skateboarder (i do longboard dancing) as there's a pretty big distinction in what we do and how we ride (though honestly "longboarder" and "longboarding" don't quite roll off the tongue either.). He only says skateboarder because it's easier for most people to recognize it and longboarding is considerably more niche.
Subsonic La Maquina with a Gbomb DeepDrop bracket and a Don't Trip Poppy truck in the front, and a Gbomb torsiontail in the rear. Wheels are Seismic Blastwaves in DefCon formula (mango 78,5a in front, bubblegum 77a in the rear)
Skateboarding is a huge family of disciplines, it covers street skating, slalom, long distance pushing, long distance pumping, freeride, downhill, pool..... It's a very general term. Almost anything that has a standing platform and 4 wheels is a skateboard
@@VinceTibono it's not, we longboarders are not skateboarders and there is a clear distinction in how each is used (except in the discipline freestlye), we all skate and are "skaters" but not skateboarders
