I love Daly but Dent was 53 years old here and wasn’t too far behind here I gotta give credit where it’s due.

If John didn't have all those dam demons I can't even imagine how entertaining the Daly Woods era might have been.

He turned down a 321 yd drive!! This is why Daly was one of the most feared sluggers in the sport.

You just can’t truly appreciate seeing just how hard John hits the ball unless you see him do it in person. First time i saw it, I could not understand how he didn’t break his shoelaces every time he pulled that driver out.

There is no way that John Daly weighed 175 lbs, except for maybe when he was a toddler. But even so, he can still hit further than a lot of guys today.

That swing and club speed is just awesome. It has that Sound, much like when a great baseball hitter is around. You can tell by the crack of the bat someone different is hitting.

I love Daly's swing. I never was too great at scoring but I could hit the long ball. I tried to copy Bobby Jones's swing, who was also a banger and built a lot like Daly, maybe a bit leaner, but powerful hips and a supple back. I think the long ball is mostly something you have or you don't. I played from age 8 to 13, then did martial arts through middle school and high school. When I started playing again when I was 17, I was 6'4", about 200 pounds, and had really good hips and flexibility from all the karate and kickboxing. Throwing a low kick requires a similar whipping motion. I could also get the club way back on the backswing, almost as far as Daly. It just gives you more room to accelerate. Now if I could only chip and putt! What really impressed me about Dent is that he didn't even take the club to parallel but could still crush it. Really impressed by both these guys.

Daly added some excitement for a bit for sure. If you listened he went on to play and hit one 358...imagine him with one of todays drivers...jeez, would more than hold his own with any of the long hitters today.

Daly's always been an enigma because of how strong his core has to be to actually pull off that swing, I mean he's never been the picture of strength and health. If I swung like that I'd be in traction. He's just got God given talent.

Funny how Jim Dent looks so smooth like he’s not even trying and hits at almost as far as Daly where Daly looks like a monster but still doesn’t hit much much farther.

So... Bryson isn't actually that long, considering how much farther modern equipment moves the ball! Had Daly had 2020 clubs here, he would have been around 400 yards!

Daly was thin for a short period of time and eventually said it didn't suit him and felt like it wasn't good for his game, he packed on the pounds again.

In order to take luck out of the long drive competition you should only count carry distance. 60 yard roll is just insane.

Taurus people are naturally lazy, so that may explain something about John Daly. He admitted to not putting in the work that the other guys do, guys like Vijay Singh who is one of the most successful players in history.

Oy golfer to point the club at the ball I beg the differ not bragging becouse it's not a swing you actually want but my dad swing identical same so do I from watching my dad growing up my dad hits almost as far as John daily but I can't control the swing hints why I don't golf course I can't tee off without slicing the ball becouse I learned a bad swing and can't correct it iv tried.my dad screwed me from the start on being a good golfer.
