I Had my turp prostrate operation 6 weeks ago, I had the spinal anasthetic without any sedation,so I was awake throughout the procedure I could talk with the theatre staff & listen to my radio during the operation,after i had no after ill effects of the anasthetic i was bright & allert, straight after,I had my evening meal, 2 days later,I left hospital,all great, the slight bleeding stopped after 3 weeks, my consultant was great, he told me before the operation he would have me pissing like a stallion,& he was absolutely correct,the operation as far as I am concerned is highly reccomended & nothing to be worried or concerned about, superb
Glad to hear! Going for my TURP this Friday July 8th. You hear so many bad circumstances (though rare but of course most talked about online) but good to hear these positive outcomes!
I going to add.. I’m 52 and was discussing the urolift with doctor but after many failed trial of voids.. he suggested the TURP So going for it. 80 gram prostate. Took .8 of flowmax and it failed out of nowhere one day after recovering from Covid 🤷🏻♂️ I did want the urolift but I don’t plan on having anymore kids.. so… Hoping for a speedy recovery and back to urinating like a 20 year old. Oh… no complications please!!!!
Encouraging Watching this video with a catheter BPH Cath in and out over the past 5 weeks June 20th finally stayed in.. having TURP July 8th. Looking forward to my quality of life again.
Had my op 6 weeks ago, Blood stopped at 5 weeks Now tummy constantly wants me to run to loo, I now gotta wee every 45 minutes and only get about a quarter cup ( 100 ml) Wake 4 times a night to wee about 100 ml, This is far worse than before the op I had here in South Africa Johannesburg, Sitting in a Resturant I gotta go 5 times before leaving the Resturant
54 Year old male here. I have a bladder stone. I urinate just fine but this uroligist says I need the turp procedure. Im not thrilled about it at all. I just want the stone removed.
Bladder stones is likely a consequence of urinary retention. That retention is likely due to enlarged prostate. Your urologist sounds legit; he wants to cure you instead of just putting a Band-Aid by simply clearing your bladder stone alone. This is just a total guess on my part.
Pain in recovery is my concern. The Urolift was horrible. 3 weeks of high level pain upon urination. The first week being more than unbearable. What can be done to ease this? If anything.
Raymond, no problem the blood will decrease slowly, drink lots of water and or talk to your doctor, don't rush average recovery 4 to 6 weeks, you will be very happy doing it. I did it and very happy.
Not true for me. One year after TURP, I’m having more pronounced issues versus the level of discomfort and problems before TURP. Plus I’ve not had a real orgasm. Don’t have TURP, in my opinion. It cannot be reversed!
