The closest I can think of is a bob that has been layered a lot and each layer was cut into giving a very choppy feel! The fringe was cut into many different lengths. Once finished I cut into the hair even more making it very textured! Stuart
Thank you, there were 3 colours used and a pre lightener: Majirouge 6.66 mixed with 0.600 and 20% peroxide, 7.45 mixed with 0.400 and 20% peroxide and a pre lightener with 30%. These were placed in foils. Finally the 3rd colour used was a crazy colour called fire, this was used as a full tint at the end!
Stuart Phillips Thank you! Can I share the hairstyle on my RU-vid channel as well? I've noticed that many of my followers only go there. I will of course link back to your channel and give you all the credit you deserve for your great work!
Hi Jessy, please you like it. This style would suit your texture, although it may prove time consuming to blow-dry, you would also need to keep the layers fractionally longer, this would make it easier to dry! Another important factor, if you decide to go ahead, your stylist must first blow-dry your hair to a straight/wavy finish and then re-style your hair dry, this will give a more accurate cut! Stuart
The most important part of the video is finding models with a great bone structure and willing to have a dramatic change, which is not always that easy, that's why my videos are about 6-8 weeks apart!
Lara should do a video on how she's kept her hair so long and healthy! It doesn't look like she colors her hair (it looks so natural), but whatever she's doing, it looks gorgeous! As always, great to see a new video from you
Hi Calota, of course - The brand was Loreal and the colours used were - Majirouge 6.66 mixed with 0.600 and 20% peroxide, 7.45 mixed with 0.400 and 20% peroxide and a pre lightener with 30%. These were placed in foils. The last colour used was a crazy colour called fire, this was used as a full tint at the end! I had to be quite technical to explain, so hope you understood OK! Stuart
Hi Artasia, after looking at your photos I feel that a pixie cut would suit your face shape and very importantly your features! Although you could do it in 2 stages, for the first look you could still have it cut around your ears but leaving it a couple of inches long on top and then have it chopped into giving it that funky feel! You could then use a wax massaging it in which would help give it that funky look! When your bored of that style, you could then go for the pixie cut! Stuart
Hi Francesca, with your face shape in mind I would continue to grow your hair roughly another 3 inches! Once it's grown I would keep the layers medium to long and make sure all layers are textured by slicing into the hair. I would grow out your fringe to around middle of nose and wear it to the side. If it doesn't want to be side swept you can have an asymmetric fringe cut in. from around 1 inch bellow your eye, going longer to the middle of your nose. (continued)
this tends to open up your face, making it appear slightly bigger (which is more flattering to you). I also like the way you've styled your hair when it was purple, as you've taken your hair back, showing more of your face! One more thing, make sure that you don't grow your hair much longer, as this will tend to make your face appear smaller! Stuart
Hi Jessica, the reason I got lots of movement was because I cut into the layers making them a lot shorter. The less weight that you have at the top, back and sides will help when you come to style. I would use a mat wax and only use a tiny amount, around half of a pea! I would massage it into your hair really concentrating in getting it in to your root area, then with the remainder I would place on the ends. I would then use a tiny bit more on your fringe, pulling bits with your fingers Stuart
Hi Lauren, your correct an oval face shape would be perfect for this cut! The only time consuming part would be blowdrying your hair with a round brush, you don't need your hair to be dead straight, wavy also looks good! The blow-dry should last at least a few days! When your hairdresser has cut and blow-dried, they would then have to spend time going over the haircut, this is to make sure it's perfect after blowdrying your curls out! Stuart
Hi Cristina, The brand was Loreal and the permanent colours used were placed in foils. The last colour used was a crazy colour called fire, although this was a semi and was used as a full tint at the end!

Thank you, pleased you like it :) You are right though, funny thing is the non professionals are too nervous too in front of camera and the professionals are trained not too! Stuart
Thank you, there are many versions of this style, meaning how far you go with the texturing and the length etc, as it depends on the shape of your face to the exact version that you have!!
Hi, Yes it would, although if your face is more square than oval then I would leave the outline length around 1-2 cm longer. It's perfect for an oval shape face! Stuart
Thank you, pleased you enjoyed the video! You can create a version where your fringe and length of back is longer, although I will need to know the shape of your face and texture of hair, (wavy, curly or straight?) This is quite important! If you can reply me this information I will then help you! Stuart
Haha, well I cut it shorter as she needed a re-style and I'm a very fast cutter, so I understand where your coming from but she absolutely loves her new style and now she gets more modelling jobs than ever! Stuart
Hi Jen, Thanks for the feedback, pleased that you enjoy watching the video! Will be my pleasure to help you! As RU-vid won't allow me to place a URL on here, If you type this name on facebook -stuartphillipsfanpage and attach 2 photos of yourself (from front and side) on my professional face book page I will get back to you with some hair advice. Stuart
Very well done! I love her new style - as well great make-up job btw! only negative thing: the model does never smile... indeed she's very beautyful. :-)
Thanks Stuart!! Thanks for pointing towards the correct direction (it took me quite some reads to understand all what you said though!) :) I should seriously start using round brush and blow drying techniques! Saw some video tutorials just now and i think if i plan to get a cut it's best if i spend more time on my hair daily otherwise they might as well end up bushy and frizzy. I am all excited about getting a new haircut now.. will post a pic if it goes all well :)
Hi, the only way you can achieve such a bright vibrant red on the ends is if it’s first lifted to a copper. The lighter your hair is to start the brighter the end result will be. If your hair is uneven to start then your end result will be uneven. It is essential that before you apply the red that you lighten your ends so it matches your roots! For timings it depends if you will be using a permanent or semi permanent colour? Stuart
I used a round brush and blow dryer. I straightened the hair about 70%, the rest was left slightly wavy. It will suit a heart shape face, although I would leave the fringe slightly longer! Stuart
The length at the back and sides should be around 2 inches longer but with a similar shape. It would look very trendy but importantly would look soft on your face! While seating in front of your Hairdresser would be up to them to achieve the perfect length! Stuart
Sorry the answer was a bit technical, the 45 degree angle was meant for you to tell your hairdresser, the overall length would be a couple of inches past your hairline. Good luck with it and if you have any more questions please get back to me! Stuart
This haircut was made ideally for the models face shape etc, best thing would be (if possible) to go on line in your salon and show them the video, they can then give you advice if that style suits you, if not they could possibly take parts of the shape and style it so it suits your face shape, bone structure etc! Stuart
It's possible to do even though you have fine hair, although you would have a slightly different finish as your hair wouldn't be quite as full as Rihanna's! To help give it more volume though I would use a mouse for body and apply this before you dry it then after it's dry I would use a tiny amount of a non greasy mat wax, for example, Clay by Loreal! Stuart
This colour is very intense, although on the right person can look amazing. Best thing would be is to find a shop that sells similar colour wigs and try it on, that way your be sure!!
