Well i redid my old tweeters with something i learned from making the Big tweeters for the DIY event 2024. and i made some metal pieces for a tiny Rubanoide tweeter.. that im not using so i give them away. if you are interested ? send me a message.

ha funny there is much more 100-300 hz in my recordings then the original :) well cant measure properly under 350Hz , so there is some room for improvement :) well plrenty i gues

It looks like the dip at 3K may be a combination of the dipole peak and some horn-loading caused by the thickness of the baffle and the roundover around the membrane. Might be worth it to get the membrane closer to the front face to reduce the horn gain to compare. But they sound excellent as they are, so it might be fixing a problem that isn't actually a real problem.

yeah that might be it but in the model of my baffle there was also this dip be it slightly higher, and i think its because the extra length the round over gave i did not use in the model :) thanks for your input !

I still think you should add a 15deg waveguide baffle to those tweeters.... And if you don't, at least add a saw-tooth shape felt edge to the current baffle edge (saw-tooth facing in to the driver), might help with the diffraction dip at 2.7k. Yes, the depth of the driver mounting plus maybe ten mm shuold be added for the EDGE simulation. Plus ten for skin effects (sound doesn't propagate directly along a surface, depending on air speed you go out from the surface a few mm's. I ran a pair of RD-75's back when I had a living room that was at least four times bigger than what I can see in your video, that worked really well. Also on a plain baffle, but with almost 300mm's of dense rockwool on the back wall behind the ribbons

i was thinking of a half circle baffle (at least an arc, bit like the HUGE infinity baffle) kind of thing, then use this cheap driver... :) should get rid of some of the problems ! must think of a cheap material to wrap around some mdf pieces that make this form. alu or something else that is non magnetic but easy to bend. maybe some HPL, there are HPL 0.9mm sheets with every surface finish you like, brushed alu copper etc they way i made the tweeter now is making it possible to have no slot with round over in the front as i have now. since its held only by one piece of foam sitting on the steel.

Listening off axis will reduce the dip without changing anything electrically. Try 25-30°. THis is a common effect when the baffle is the same size on the left and right.

well yes and no :) making the baffle much smoother and not a flat board can fix it completely on axis and off axis :)
