Hi Bobbie! Thanks for your comment. I used to always film from the side so I could see better. It only took me 2 years to realize that it would be much better for viewers to see from a more user-perspective, so I have a "blind spot" while I film, but I'm learning to adjust. So glad it makes it more enjoyable for you to watch! Happy Quiting! Michael
Hello! Just found your video. I make a Teddy bear quilt (I have tried to make others but everyone wants the teddies) for all the new babies in our extended family. I have been going around the faces when I quilt them. Then go back and stitch around them on my DSM. This is so much better. Thank you. I will be ordering.
New subscriber here as my friend told me about you! I'm also looking forward to your next video! Thank you for sharing your talent and posting this video!
Hi Michael! I purchased your Foot Control from you, BTW, thanks so much, ready to use this with lots of appliquéd pieces on my longarm. I watched your video, are you stitching the appliqué with all 3 layers (backing, batting and top)? Or just the top? Thank you for your help!
Hi 62bumble! Thanks for your comment and question. I am stitching through all three layers when using Foot Control. Let me know how it goes for you! Thank You, Michael
Great question. It's actually a combination of both. Mostly I am moving it with the other hand, but sometimes it is actually with the foot control hand. I will have to break it down and analyze that more, but it's based on the angle I am sewing and which feels like the most control at the time. Thanks for asking!! Happy Quilting! Michael
You may have already gotten your answer from watching more videos - but I am using an Innova 22" longarm. I love it - but then again, I love all longarm machines and quilting in general. I try to make sure anything I teach is transferable to any machine. Happy Quilting! Michael
The factory I use to cut the acrylic told me today that they will be shipping out to me tomorrow, so I should have them back in the shop by the beginning of next week. Having trouble keeping in stock and meeting the demand with acrylic (yet another material that has gotten harder to obtain since Covid started). I have not tried on the Gammill - however the indentations are all shallow and should not pose any problems. If anyone has used on Gammill, feel free to chime in! Happy Quilting! Michael
