I used to play all msdos games as child it reminds me of so many good times. I wish I could go back to that time of my childhood. :')

My favorite Disney game, always loved a Sega Genesis version.

I never beat Aladdin for the Genisis, Its time to finally finish a chapter in my life that hasn't been completed.

This was a lot better than Lion King. I love how they realized the cartoon's effects in da game! :D

Jesus this music kicks you in the balls as soon as level 1 starts. Pretty nice sounding though, even if the drums sound like someone banging on a door.

I beat this back in 2000 or so on a deskstop pc, playing with keyboard, no joystick lol. I remember i took me long nights lol. Very nostalgic! :)

Never knew this game even existed and I'm in my 30s! Such a simple game yet it looks PERFECT!! I love these types of games, which they made an RPG version.

I bought the Gog version of this game and they made a great dosbox wrapper, it works really well... I tried to make a dosbox wrapper myself before the release of the gog version but it was really laggy. This was my first game ever on my windows 95 pc (my first pc). I think is one of the most difficult game ever made... i tried to complete it but The Cave of Wonders was already too difficult for me... In the end I used a really simple cheat made by an italian forum user. I used an hex editor called HxD and I changed the exe of the game inside the wrapper: 4FA8 -> from 2E FF 0E B2 0B to 90 90 90 90 90 with this there is no game over since you cannot lose life (you still die, but even if you have 1 life you cannot go down).

My first experience with this game was a development or pre-release build, because cheats were enabled by default and it had more debug keys. It had a slightly different intro animation, it was more like the amiga version. You had a button to switch between apples and the sword instead of 2 separate buttons. It only works like that in this version if you select the joystick option. The most noticeable was that the Rug Ride level didn't had any obstacles or cave graphics on top so you could cheese it by staying always top. It had no sound and music, even if you turned it on in the options. Also there were no credits rolling after the ending.

Bro this game traumatized me as a kid I did complete it as a kid but the amount of effort it took with limited life was apalling.

I always loved Aladin on NES, and when my dad got his Windows 94 PC at home I was so excited to play games on it and use paint lol, and when I saw Aladdin was installed on it I remember staying up late playing it for hours! Those were the days! We were not ultra rich but my dad still got a PC and a PSone in the 90's when even the average higher middle class didn't generally used to have those in their homes - I just remember this and think if it wasn't for my dad providing us these latest tech we would have been so lacking in the childhood of all these amazing memories of playing games and stuffs.

My childhood game

I had this for PC when I was a kid. you had to enter a password to play the game and you needed the user manual. It would tell you "paragraph 4, first word of second sentence" and you would have to enter the word to play the game. I could never get very far in it, my older cousin got to one of the last levels but we never beat it.

Я регулярно доходил лишь до четвертого уровня (темницы), несколько раз проходил ее, но уже следующий уровень - пещеру чудес, где постоянно можно было провалиться в болото и погибнуть, я пройти не мог, так как банально заканчивались жизни. А учитывая то, что в те времена, родители мне разрешали играть лишь два часа в субботу и два часа в воскресенье, пройти игру было просто нереально. Я просто тратил впустую свое драгоценное время. Потом обнаружил что игру можно запустить с тремя видами читов: бесконечное здоровье, бесконечные яблоки и бесконечные жизни. Я всегда был против читерства, но иначе бы я игру не прошел. Поэтому я выбрал лишь чит, который давал бесконечные жизни. То есть у меня все равно тратилось здоровье и я погибал, у меня заканчивались яблоки, но вот переигрывать один и тот же уровень мог бесконечное число раз. Помню, я потратил три или четыре часа (играл, пока родителей не было дома), но все же прошел эту игру. Сперва пытался считать, сколько раз я умер, потом сбился со счета. Больше всего я погибал на уровне "Лампа Джинна", так как там на каждом шагу была пропасть, и пройти этот уровень можно было лишь путем проб и ошибок. В общем, я не могу представить, сколько надо потратить времени, чтобы научиться проходить игру так же, как на этом видео. Сколько раз нужно было пройти каждый уровень, чтобы отточить свое мастерство настолько, чтобы потом пройти всю игру разом за один час?

For some weird reason they swapped songs around in his version compared to sega mega drive.

One of the few dos games that used Amiga mods for music instead of midi. If it could have scrolled properly, this version would have been the best.

I’m really confused, I specifically remember a scene were you fly away from lava. But watching this you just go through caves. But… I really remember being chased as the lava licks you. Whaattttt

In this version you also got hurt by touching the enemies' bodies (as opposed to just being hit by their weapons in the Genesis version), which made it more challenging...

Levels music is somewhat (Desert track playin in the Cave of Wonders, Dungeon music playin in the Sulatn Palace, no Boss music at all, also Abu intro music during his appearence before his bounus levels is missing) messed up, so about SFX. Sega version is way better for perception and it's more logical. This could be used to build a remake for PC, but still needs fixes.

17:32 as a kid I never figured out that it was Sebastian the crab hanging there. All I know is that I thought it looked kinda scary, as a mutated head bust or something. 🙈 My brother and I called it a Beast clown.

my teenage years

This version is so screwed compared to the Sega. Very different controls, choppy, inaccurate character movement. Field of view is also restricted due to the top HUD covering the view. Plus, there's a nasty bug in the beginning of the second level which causes you to 'fall off' the map if jumped. Just try to play both and you'll see.

Definitely prefer the health display on this version better than the other version. The genesis one is weird to read.

That moment PC games variants were better than the console versions xD I don't know what happened with Final Fantasy 7 and Mortal Kombat though...
