It might amaze some of you, but we didn't have this title yet lol. I remember Mario Tennis N64 being very difficult so I held this one off for a while.. but it was surprisingly easy after all. This longplay covers all cups (in Singles mode) and shows the first stage of each Special game. I didn't feel like doing all stages of the special games as the other stages just require more points for the most part. The best part about this game are probably the Gimmick courts which are all covered in the Fire and Thunder cup. Worth checking.
You thought that's great??? Look At The Blooper Scenes during the credits, made me laugh so freakin' hard, that I still get a chuckle out of them to this day.
I loved playing this with my cousins. Still one of my favorite games...I especially liked the victory animations for the characters. And the blooper reels during the normal and star credits....comedy gold!
Mario Power Tennis is such a fun game!! Loved playing this when I was a child 💗 Speaking of Power Tennis, I bought the PAL version of the game a few days ago and noticed a weird graphics glitch. Yoshi's belly has two black stripes where the shading would just sorta blend with the white base colour. I can't remember whether this was a thing back then but it's kinda strange and not something you won't notice at all. I'm playing on a DOL-001 model as it's connected to the retro-bit Prism HDMI adapter, since my TV doesn't have a slot for AV cables anymore. I don't know if that's the reason why there's such an issue in the first place or if it's a PAL-version thing only. It's definitely an OG copy of the game, not a pirated one. Is there anyone who might know why the graphics glitch occurs and if there's a way to fix this? I know YT isn't usually the place to ask for help but maybe there's a chance of someone being out there who's able to help me out :) Thanks in advance!
When you have played actual tennis IRL this game becomes so easy. Because the mind games and actual ability to do all these things on a real tennis court are dialed down so much to the point where I could hit the ball to where the CPU could not hit it everytime.
I just got this game today for 40 bucks, its such a blast! It's a shame that modern mario sports games are underwhelming due to the lack of ambition and content, because they used to be really good, like with this one.
Let's see... Since March 10 I made it from donkey Kong (1981 arcade) to this. Mario power tennis (2004 GameCube). Mario has been in so many wonderful games. And some really really weird ones. And some outright bad ones. But mostly good.
Mario: "These tournaments are gonna be easy!" **Flower Cup Finals** Shy Guy: "Hello there." Mario: **Richard Hammond screaming in his beach buggy all the way up in the air via helicopter**
The originals are always better than the remakes in my opinion. The Devs back then had way more fun than today where it's more corporate, compared to the 2000s and before.

OHHHH YEESSS!!! My Childhood Game, One of them that is. Too bad this came out nearly a year after Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, Kirby Air Ride, and Mario Kart Double Dash. This was a fun game to play, really is. It gets ridiculous when you do exhibition matches with ace difficulty CPUs. And believe me, I can't tell you how nuts it gets, and how many hours of laughter I got out of this. There are parts in this game where either the computer players always hits the ball and never miss, or I completely miss it and groan, or I find something that occurs SOOO Fast that I crack up and think "When are they done hitting the ball that close towards the net?" As for Tournament, I'm still upset about the hardest cup in that game, me having Mario and Luigi, lose by One Point to DK and Diddy Kong. I remember being so upset and angry, that I never played Tournament again. All of that work leading up to the finish match, just POOF! Destroyed in one tennis match. Even exhibition I did it in 2021, and still lost. Just goes to show to me DK and Diddy Kong as Ace CPU difficulty are the hardest to beat (for me that is). I was doing really good at the beginning, but it fell apart once the CPU players kept winning halfway through the match. Much like Super Smash Brothers Melee, Mario Golf, Kirby Air Ride, Double Dash, and Mario Party 5, looking at this gives me a better idea of how this player does it compared to me. If you have not played this game, please, find a rom online and download it to use on a Dolphin Emulator ( I won't link it, you have to find it yourself somewhere), or buy a physical copy of this game and play it. You'll have a ton of fun playing it. To this day I still pplay it, but using a 100% Completed save file on a european version of the game itself, and playing exhibition matches just to see if I can beat the CPUs or not. Tons of fun if you get a chance to. Now all they need to do is Rugby, Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee, and Pickleball, and I would be set. TDLR: This game is a blast to play. And with Ace difficulty characters, you may find it funny just how quick the CPUs in the middle of the tennis court can hit the tennis ball endlessly until one screws up and we get a point or they do. Got this game for Christmas 2004, along with Mario Party 6 that came with the Memory Card B Slot Microphone. (SuperFlashDriver)
Hahah thanks for your post. One thing I’ve discovered is that CPU reads inputs. If you move left while the CPU is about to smash the ball, he’ll shoot right. It sometimes helps to poke the stick to the left for half a second and then quickly run to the right.
@@longplayarchive I'll have to think about that the next time I do that tournament mode for Moonlight Cup. Also, the audio is fine, but the audio and video constantly Desyncs. Video slows down, speeds up, and lags really hard, during a match, before, and after one, even the award ceremony is laggy. It got to the point where it was starting to be unpleasant. I have a feeling it's not on my end, but rather the video that was recorded itself. I hate to see you have to do it ALL over again just to make sure the recording is smoother than before. How the fuck did something as simple as recording gameplay end up soo laggy on my end that it's unpleasant????? EDIT: Turns out it's my browser window that's having a laggy issue when playing the video. When I did it on another browser (Dissenter for example), it works perfectly without any problems. I guess Yandex Browser tends to be choppy at times. But it's not the video's issue, it's on my end. So I just have to watch the video on a different browser that's all.
@@SuperFlashDriver Dude thanks for the edit... I'm so so happy to hear this video isn't messed up as it's my best performing GameCube upload this month hahah.
Back when Nintendo loved the games they made. Everything in this game was great. But a little too difficult for me as a kid. I think I threw some major tantrums after 2 hour final tie breaking championships then losing.
