Nathan, my name is Joe and I'm a 55 yr old guy for Sussex County, New Jersey. I love watching your videos and everything you do. I heard about you roughly a year ago while watching Rich Knox over at Smokey Mountain Outpost and man, I'm just about as jealous of the amazing life you guys are making for yourselves as anyone can be, bit you give me hope and inspiration for the future. Good luck in all you do and also with your new machine who seems to me like a natural "Ms. Kato" Thanks.
Awesome Nathan. I understand this excitement had each of us viewers waiting for this big reveal. PS. The Red Barn Snow picture was epic post card grade ⛄️🤠
Looks like a very well designed machine! I'm impressed with how neatly they've packaged all the mechanics and hydraulics - should be very easy to maintain.
I like Ms. Kato, myself !! Sure is a beautiful excavator, Nathan - perfect for what you need !! I presume it's a diesel machine..? Looking forward to seeing it in action, my friend.
Congrats on your new excavator . I used to have 8 mostly wooded Acres, with a brook that ran across it. I did a lot of Landscaping on the property but used to just rent a Bobcat excavator, slightly larger than what you have to do any digging and a bobcat loader for moving dirt and loam around. Be sure to lower the Dozer blade when using the excavator to dig
So happy for you Nathan, you’ll really going to enjoy this excavator. Your buddy Mike over in PA will be a great source of information about excavating and improving your property, especially when it comes to culverts.
FYI ---- In me younger days ( 72 now ! ) I sold Kubota excavators when they were first brought into the USA. It was a tough job back then because used tractor backhoes sold CHEAP ! * ! * ! It was very difficult to sell little / little / little mini-excavator being as we were the 1st on the market. This was back in the late 1970's to early 1980's ). We also sold Bobcat Skid Steer Loaders and they sold like crazy. Guess what the commission salesmen pushed. You guessed it...BOBCATS. Back then Kubota Excavators came into the country without cabs. You got a four post roll-cage with a sheet of metal to serve as your roof. VerySMALL and Very SPARTAN. JimInCincy.....
For a moment I thought you were filming in front of a green-screen, with a white back-drop. I actually asked myself how did he do that. Then my smarter side (Left-Brain) kicked in: Hey moron it's called snow!!! For a name for the machine, may I humbly suggest Mr. Herc. Short for Hercules. Mrs Kato, just doesn't seem right. Maybe it's just me. It's your channel, your machine. You do what makes you feel warm & fuzzy. Thanks for sharing. Say hello to Bruno.
Well Alright Nathan,,,you got one.. you need this....for digging,,,,i can see it now,,your going to be very busy...i saw Mikes new one this morning,,oh is it nice..you be careful now..and dont walk into that boom...i like how that bucket tilts...man your going to need a garage..to put these things in..or may be a pole barn...
"Katosaurus"....That boom and bucket looks like the neck and head of a brontosaurus. I would call the skid steer "Katonator" since it says, "Hasta la vista, Baby", to any job it takes on.
been thinking a lot about how the new tool bins and shop tables could actually make a nice kitchen counters and the whole bit considering a drop in range tops and build in ovens the cost of the cupboard and counters are definitely doable for a certain spartan look
Looks great Nathan, you're going to have lots of fun around there and get lots of work around there accomplished. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
Amazing piece of equipment Nathan, congratulations. I’m sure many people learned from this video, I know I sure did, thanks for sharing and educating us on this.
speaking of mike Morgan suggestion check out his rake like bucket that he uses for lifting log and getting rid of stumps between thumb and rake like bucket great fir clearing brush and organic trash
Nice machine. From experience, I'll say the mower very much depends on what material you will be mowing. I have a flail and a rotary cutter. My experience has been if it's over 3/4" in diameter and woody, you'll be disappointed with the flail. And I ran mine on a 64 hp machine. It just doesn't cut clean. Just my opinion. Good luck.
We have a Komatsu PC40. Its handy having an excavator. We've had it for 15 years. You will like having the new Kato, especially with the hydraulic thumb.
This is a fun machine and a body saver. Working smart. The sense of accomplishment after you complete each project is amazing. There will be many days this year that you will look back at the end of the day and smile. You made your slice of heaven a more functional and beautiful place. Smart purchase.
I Like it, just the right size and your dump trailer should work well with it, (Hauling Too) Great Pick! Name I don't know maybe Junior Kato,,, Cheers! John Toccoa GA
only think I would get and save more money to get it is a cab. I think it pays off don't have to worried about hot sun burning you out and winter keeping warm.
First name that crossed my mind was Ms. Kato. Great name. Soon as you mentioned the pear trees, I figured that was the main motivating factor that persuaded you to buy this machine. Yet another great video. Thanks so much.
the weather is sure messed up...here in ontario canada the rain is washing the snow away..have not even used my snow blower yet. been awhile since i jumped on the channel sure have missed the vids of the beautiful wood grains and patterns that just blow yer mind. wish i could drive down there and buy some to toss in my truck to make a table with but border guards would be all over me.//you sure have done well upgrading a bit at a time. looking at selling and moving to new Brunswick to get a home and 20 to 30 acres. sure nice to see what the benefits are to different pieces of equipment,
zero tail swing means the rear of the machine does not extend beyond the tracks. So as long as you miss it with your tracks, the rear of the machine will not hit anything. So the only thing that goes beyond the tracks is the boom.
Remember to bring your thumb to your bucket when grabbing stuff. The power on the bucket can break some thumbs. You are going to love that machine. You will create projects just to get out and do some digging!
MIS KATO IS JUST WHAT i WAS THINKING THAT WAY IF YOU GET MORE KATOS THEY CAN BE THE CHILDREN,KIDS OF MR. & MIS. KATO... LOL YOU ARE TRULY A BLESSED MAN...
wow beautiful machine Nathan, really looking forward to the adventures ahead in the coming year. I have to agree with you on the name MISS KATO is a must. Thanks for sharing with us all 👍👍
After seeing a new hydraulic shovel (with the dipper bucket) it reminded me of the winter I spent driving dump trucks to build roads loaded by a Bucyrus Erie diesel shovel. The BE had a huge 4 cylinder diesel engine that lifted 2 cubic yards of fill from the bank. Today, using hydraulics, the power need is so much less on shovels, excavators etc.
