I was 11. Man, I got old! Miss Stargate so much, I hope Brad Wright manages to convince amazon. I really wish we got to see a ZPM manufacturing facility and an Ancient shipyard. The SGA books are good.
It's been a long time since we've seen such intelligent writing, especially in science fiction. Too much sci-fi these days is 'Science = Magic' and the writers just write what ever they want because they don't know enough science to be able to come up with a logical and scientific solution.
The Daedalus took twenty days for a one way trip. One of my favorite things about Stargate is they way they incorporate elements ( technology, races, characters, ideas) from previous episodes into the new ones. And yet still remained mostly episodic television. It totally makes sense that teams looking for technology would find it and begin to incorporate into their ouvre. Yet it’s still the military so if you don’t have a catalog number, they don’t want you to deploy with it 😂
SG one was one of the best television shows ever. In many ways it did Star Trek better than Star Trek. I felt like Atlantis didn’t quite hit the mark (Though had some amazing episodes and storylines ) I watched the show and enjoyed it. But it doesn’t rewatch the same way that SG1 does. I think the show became dependent on Rodney saving the day at the last minute far too often. I loved Rodney how could I not? But when Atlantis started feeling like The Rodney Show, I was less enthused.
Anyone remember Space Above and Beyond? The Algorithm threw it at me last night, great show but badly teated by Network, a bit like B5 and Stargates various series.
I was a teenager when the Stargate movie came out. I thought that it was ok. I remember thinking that it was odd that they were making a Stargate tv show because I didnt think the movie was a massive hit - pls you do not need the Stargate name to make a tv show like this. I mean there had already been plenty of tv shows that were based on a similar idea. I am not really a nerd so I never watched the show. I am surprised that so many nerds like it. I know of one person that likes the show. He isnt really a nerd - more of a weirdo. Anyway - was it you guys who were watching Seaquest DSV back in the day? Someone must have been. It was you guys right?
