Super Ginrai doesn't have waffling. They're doing CGI product photos, something Takara hasn't really done before. The lighting settings seem fucky, and it makes the entire panel look black.
The combiner arms look very skinny for the combiner idk if that’s the photo but it’s proportions look wonky. Also the price is probably gonna be ridiculous
The Cyberverse elements in the new tarn are the red on the arms and the gold on the chest. It’s most definitely Cyberverse tarn… but malnourished. Also how come the Filch has no nose but the primes and other rid15 characters do?
Thinking of a name, huh? How about Vector's Visions? Like Vector Prime is giving you visions of the future releases. EDIT: Also, the insignia on Breakdown's trailer shield part is the insignia of the Mayhem Attack Squad, who are essentially the Decepticon's version of the Autobot wreckers. So, given that Prime Bulkhead is confirmed to be a member of the Wreckers, it does absolutely feel appropriate to throw Prime Breakdown into the Mayhem Attack Squad.
@@PerspectiveEnd Vector Prime is one of the 13 original Primes. And given the word play, Vector's Visions, it would absolutely be understood to any real Transformers fans. Also, did you see the edit to the comment on how the insignia on Breakdown's trailer shield part is the insignia of the Mayhem Attack Squad, who are essentially the Decepticon version of the Autobot Wreckers?
update on the 86 swoop i think is face looks bad from only the front as new pictures of him as a slight angle. also it has a image of his show model next to it and i think its manly the brow thats makes it look like that
What makes me man about Windsweeper is they did ABSOLUTELY ZERO retooling to the jet mode. Needlenose is an F-16XL, which the jet mode is decently accurate to, but Windsweeper is a B-1 Lancer, which looks COMPLETELY different.
Above literally every other Dinobot, they have to screw up Swoop by buffing him for no reason. What, did they just want him to fit in with the others despite the fact that him being the odd one out was the whole point of his character?
If any of these needed the new mold it’s lockdown. The chug-ifying really turned into a chub-ifying for him. He’s suppose to be this unnaturally thin eldritch horror of a voyager-leader class that erupts from an unthreatening deluxe car. Not the first time they made the legs the length of the car, he really needed it here. I would have gotten breakdown if he wasn’t a two pack
Funny enough he was never a voyager. Hes always been a really, REALLY tall deluxe. I hope they can keep true to that tradition with a new animated one.
@@CrimsonAzure-fh6yb not yet. Id suspect with all the backlash the fifure has already gotten and the prominence animated has had in legacy, while it may take awhil4 I see them getting around to it eventually.
Studio Series (2024) wave 2 looks exciting and great, so picking up each figure in the wave! The SS86 Swoop looks amazing, only a few things which I am not too sure on. BB voyager Shockwave is a long time coming and am happy for it! WFC GE Sideswipe looks cool, finally a more game accurate version and “concept” BB Sunstreaker is just cool, overall a great wave!
I always believed that this Swoop will be good and am still holding on to that belief. I feel like there will be some issues but they will most likely just be minor.
Potential names: -Tomorrow's Transformers -Transformers of Tomorrow -Figures of the Future -Disappointments in Development (probably better as a specific episode of this series) that's all I can think of. The first two are very basic, but it tells the viewer exactly what the video's about, with no confusion. Kinda sounds like a really old TV or radio news segment
86 Swoop shows my biggest problem with the Studio Series toyline nowadays, despite me considering him as my favourite figure of the year so far. Recent SS figures seem to have this mindset: if they're a character they know won't be that popular or exciting, make them excellent. If they're a name that's recognisable, phone them in in some way. ROTB Wheeljack's figure from the last wave was probably atrocious because they knew the ironic enjoyment of Pablo would help him sell, and with the 86 Dinobots, Sludge and Snarl were micro masterpieces because who cares about them, whilst Slag and Swoop has their robot mode accuracy plus an additional factor (Slag's faux-forming Transformation and Swoop's Rubber Duck alt mode) phoned in because they sell better. I also think the reason why Swoop is wide is to make him match the crew's aesthetic, but he's not even the same height as them so why did they bother (oh right, so they didn't need to give him all the swords).
Or look at the ROTB Terrorcons; Scorponok, the disposable army-builder figure, had more care poured into his engineering and plastic quality than Scourge.
It is infuriating that not only did they ruin shadow striker to make a side burn, but they didn't even get the alt mode right. I get that they can't license a dodge viper, but WHY IS IT A SEDAN? I will say I am kind of excited for the MP powermaster prime, considering that we haven't gotten an actual combining powermaster prime since the original G1 toy.
at this point I believe they’re butchering these figures on purpose with the designs and engineering because there’s no way someone who designs these figures can’t notice these obvious flaws
@@PerspectiveEnd to make people want to get the same character again for actual accuracy down the line or just pure laziness to revise the design flaws because if you have the references for these characters you can’t fail this obviously unless on purpose
So I’m not the only one who thinks swoop is too wide, though to give the benefit of the doubt to the photographer, this happens with many figures. And as with chase/Cliffjumper, as someone who owns the figure, yeah those shoulders suck, but the figure in general is quite special to me.
@@PerspectiveEnd but hey in person it might have a different feel, I mean think about the amount of times you’ve hated on a figure and once you got it in hand you really enjoyed it.
Ok, something about the Tarn’s that I’ve been waiting to point out. IDW Tarn is about the size of an above-average height Decepticon. Cyberverse Tarn is the second tallest non-titan in the show, and would probably be a very bulky leader class if fully adapted into a figure.
Yeah, a proper Cyberverse Tarn figure should have been Leader class. And while I can’t say I don’t like the look of the Tarn we got here, I am disappointed that he didn’t get his own larger mold.
Yeah Cyberverse Tarn was massive, a shame that he didn’t get the leader class treatment. At the end of the day all that it is a partial repaint from the IDW mould.
The best part of all this is there isn't much for a budgeted collector to really take interest in. The only one here I feel I would actually by as a single release at retail is the Prime Cliffjumper, but unfortunately he's part of the Target exclusive pack available only to anyone with a Target nearby. It's simply amazing that Chase is specifically tooled to be Cliffjumper but doesn't get the individual release yet ever minor retool under the Sun gets a wide release or at the very least an Amazon/Walmart release. Out of all the Star Raiders I find Ferak, and Filch maybe the most interesting.
Yeah store exclusives always suck, and they both do and do not suck harder as multi packs, cause they usually come with figures you don't want inflating the price, but that's true for everyone, so they tend to be a little more findable.
Yeah, a voyager would’ve been much better but I think that the reason why she isn’t one is because her robot mode in art is closer to Strongarm in terms of scale. So basically so is a massformer.
I don't have a Legacy Chase, so I'll get the Prime Cliffjumper, even if it's bad. Also a name for this series can be maybe, "Bot Seeker" or "Cyber Seeker". Idk I thought of them in like 30 seconds.
I don't know those names convey that I'm looking at upcomming figures, rather than going to a store and looking for them or something. I just hope you like Cliffjumper.
Comment 2: now that I have Swoop, I will say the torso design really makes the figure worse than Snarl. He may at least be the thinnest dinobot when ignoring the wings, but it still makes him look too wide, not to mention that choosing to design the gap in the torso from the beast mode head to be covered up results in the beast mode's head looking worse than it would otherwise. Also his elbows are as limited as Slag's, and the biceps are exposed at the back.
@PerspectiveEnd Regardless of nomenclature, listening to you makes one want to just give up on collecting new figures altogether and just go back to completing or army building older ones (something yours truly has been doing for sometime now ~ and is highly satisfying, I might add)! Stay radical!
About the scorponoks, that image has the names swapped around, seeing as scorponok ended up being purple Also swoop being slightly wrong has to be intentional so they can make another set in the next few years
Don’t think that was the case with the SS86 Dinobots, I think that they just wanted to slightly stylise them to appeal to different parts of the fandom.
The moment I saw Breakdown the first thing that came to mind was why? He's 85% bulkhead. I understand retooling is a thing but they could've made it better. Swoop's mold looks like the POP figure which I don't feel too positive on.
Something I’d also like to add on to the reveals video, I’ve starting hearing rumors that we’re gonna get an Energon universe Optimus figure in the future, and that it will have him with Megatron’s arm. I’m really interested to see how that will turn out. It may end up being a planned retool off the upcoming 86 Optimus. But if the 86 Optimus looks good, I think most people will be pleased with this potential Energon universe Optimus. Plus it’d be a cheaper way for people to get the 86 Optimus mold.
Thank you for bringing up the cab issue on breakdown, I don’t have bulkhead but wanna see how hard it is to remove the cab and design/3D print something that looks more prime breakdown. The insecticons look good barrage having the torso backwards for the bug head is nice but the shoulders need fillers and chopshop looks very good. I think for lockdown they noted it’s a revenge of the fallen version so hopefully we can get an animated version that’s more lanky. Also sideburn is a letdown like we have omega Prime then seeing there’s a sideburn being revealed very exciting but they barely retooled the robot mode and the car is a letdown no new bumper and lack of flames maybe toy hacks can do something but ugh that care is just awful, I would say get the original but that figure is almost all clear plastic and rubber tires so getting one relatively complete with little cracks might be a bit hard
A few things: Feraks new sculpting is based both off his marvel comics look (mostly in vehicle mode) and cyclonus' concept art in the 86 movie (mostly in bot mode) Cannonball actually has alot going on. The doors on the shoulders being a nod to the og toy, the new skeleton skull on the side of the car being directly based on the voc, the extra arm attachments that can stote in his legs, and the cyber key with a port which can come off yo become a shield. Lockdown in the behind the scenes images actually uses the yet to be shown off toad pigs arms for some extra height, confirming hes using one of the junkions as a base.
Outstanding video PerspectiveEnd!!! Please forgive me, but your ranting had me laughing. :D I got the original Prime Breakdown figure, due to the upcoming Legacy United figure looking really terrible. lol Keep on being amazing.
My thoughts: 86 Swoop: I'm not too fussed with accuracy. I'm just happy to finally have a full set of modernized G1-style Dinobots. Windsweeper and Prime Breakdown: I love the obscure G1 characters so Windsweeper is an instant win for me, even if he's just a Needlenose repaint/retool, and while Breakdown ain't the best, he's still another Prime character I can add to my shelf. The Star Raiders: Lockdown and Cannonball are the ones I want the most. Although Ferak and Filtch aren't too bad either. RID 2001 Side Burn: I look forward to replacing Shadow Striker with this guy, even if the mold isn't great. Chop Shop and Barrage: More Insecticons, plus obscure G1 characters? Yes please. Ginrai: I don't collect Masterpiece. The Target 4-Pack: I missed out on the Tarn version of that mold, My headcanon for the Tarantulas retool is that it's his Shattered Glass counterpart, Cliff will fit in nicely with my other Legacy Prime figures, and Squeezeplay is another obscure G1 character, so, again, instant win.
But it's not just that he's not accurate, he's too wide. He ugly. Yeah I know there's an audience for Obscure Characters, I just wish they were obscure characters with good molds. I'll say the same thing in regards to the Star Raiders. I think he looks worse than Shadow Striker Honestly. I do collect masterpiece, but I don't collect crap. That would make sense for those colors, but is he still a weird Sex Pervert as a good guy.
1) I love the look of 86 Swoop too, he’ll be my second 86 Dinobot in my collection next to Sludge due to not being dedicated to getting a whole set. 2) The Amazon exclusive Decepticons do look cool but I am honestly going to wait for a sale or something to decide if they’re something that I gonna want. 3) The Star Raiders for the most part look cool, am just really interested in getting Lockdown to be honest. 4) I was so looking forward to RID (2001) Sideburn ever since we got teased with Shadowstriker last year. The robot mode looks amazing but sadly the same can’t be said about the car mode, they could’ve just remoulded the hood and headlights along with giving better flame detail but they decided not to. 5) Never owned masterpiece/ third party figures. 6) The Target 4-pack was a bit of an annoying move on Hasbro’s part but hope for individual releases some point soon.
God damn it! I forked out a large chunk of cash to complete the '86 Dinobot set (Grimlock alone is reaching prices upwards of $500). Well, back to collecting Seekers.
-I wish that Windsweeper was more triggercon then targetmaster wielder, but his trigger flip out blasters being sentient targetmasters is interesting. I honestly like how Prime Universe Breakdown looks in the Bulkhead military truck mode. The next two Insecticon retools, Chop Shop and Barrage look cool. And it's interesting that they come with a Smashdown repaint. From what the leak listing has stated on this subline, there's suppose to be a two-pack with Bludgeon and Ruckus. If the listing is true, then I wish the people at Hasbro show those two on the live stream. -I wish SS86 Blaster and Eject also came with a solid black plastic Rewind. -We got a new Transformers masterpiece Optimus Prime that was repainted into Nemesis Prime and his G1 toy colors. Now a God Ginrai with the powermaster gimmick, this took me by surprise. -Another Target exclusive 4 pack. Orange Tarantulas looks neat. Headmaster Squeezeplay looks cool. And Cyberverse Universe Tarn was a surprise. It's cool that he have Bludgeon sword in purple, but kind of wish Hasbro molded in the crack across his face from the show. Cliffjumper from the prime Universe looks cool. I just wish he didn't come with the hooks and just another of the knuckle buster so he can use the other floodlight to have two triple barrel arm blasters from the show. -From the leak listings, Studio Series is gonna have the ROTB Scorponok repainted into Double Punch, the blue one. Meaning that a repaint of Sandstorm, the red one, is gonna happen down the line. I wish it was different. For Double Punch to be the red one, base on the BotCon japan exclusive version. And Sandstorm to be orange. Maybe Hasbro will change the color scheme. Scorponok here is green but his Studio Series figure is his Beast Wars show colors. -I wonder why Hasbro didn't do a exclusive box art set for the Star Seekers collection like they did for Velocitron and the Toxitron collection sets. Anyways, Cannonball looks cool. So is Ferak, but wish he came with his targemaster Tornado like from his BotCon Pirate set. Filch from the RID2015 is an interesting Decepticon to bring aboard. Speaking of, Lockdown is the only one of the pirate crew that has his Decepticon insignia. And his head sculpt is giving me ROTF movie toy Lockdown vibes and I'm loving it. From what the leak listing has stated on this subline, there's suppose to be a leader class Thundertron, fans was theorizes that it's either a Tigerhawk repaint or a redeco of voyager Thundertron with a armorizers. If the listing is true, then I wish the people at Hasbro show that on the live stream. -Leaked photos of Legacy United Sideburn came out. Yes I wish this was the dodge viper from the show, and wish Hasbro gave us a good accurate Cyberverse Shadow Striker figure so Sideburn can be his own thing. -Shorty Seeker Starscream is neat I guess. -And at last, fans will finally complete their Studio Series 86 Dinobots subgroup with Swoop.
Oh right, his name is Windsweeper. So you want Rewind instead of Eject, or you want both? Huh. You know I didn't notice that about the Star Seekers Boxes. We'll complete it, but we aren't happy about how the Dinobots Ended.
@@PerspectiveEnd Both. It looks like there's still room for Rewind to fit in with the gun accessory and Eject inside Blasters SS86 box packaging. But it looks like he will be sold separately.
It has been confirmed the Lockdown shown in the reveals was basically unfinished and the alt mode will have more paint on it. And it was mentioned at lest the head is more based on the figure of him from I believe from the figure of him from the Revenge of the Fallen toyline so there's a chance that it won't be labeled as Animated Universe Lockdown.
As someone who grew up with Transformers Prime, it truly breaks my heart seeing that they got it nearly exactly as I wanted with the Skyquake mold, only to trip down the stairs and go right back to Arcee and Knockout.
Couple thoughts. Jet: Windsweeper, his name is Windsweeper. A tightly wound germaphobe. Breakdown: onion colored face. 🧅 Blaster: I'd rather have a Marvel Blaster with the yellow eyes. Powermaster OP: glad he has the red toy eyes. Squeezeplay: cobra crab monster for the win. Tarantulas: rather have the Fox Kids/Primeval Dawn colors. Tarn: why so serious? Cliffjumper: rather have this in green as Tap-Out. Chop Shop & Barrage: Venom will probably be an original mold. Double Punch: look up the original BW figure. Cooler color scheme. Cannonball: Grime is content with the original. Ferak: Excuse me, his face resembles Claude Frollo. Filch: Hide your shiny things. Lockdown: head should've been more TFA. Side Burn: needed his smirk. Don't care for the faded decals, but I can tolerate it. Swoop: rather than an SG/Ravenus repaint.
What the hell is Revenus? That head doesn't carry much of the character for Sideburn yeah. Who is Clude Frollo? Why would you want to curse Tapout with that mold?
The stock image of Lockdown is a prototype, the retail version has dark green stripes on the black lines next to the spikes on the front of the shins, Oh, and the spikes will be decked out in silver.
Windsweeper: glad I’m not the only one who immediately thought “Needlenose wearing Chromedome’s skin”. Squeezeplay: kind of wish he was based on the POTP Blot mould with a retooled comboner to fit a titan master. Very excited for Deluxe Insecticons featuring the forge of Solus Prime box set. The first thing I did when I saw Ferrak was laugh saying “his face looks like Ian McKellen!” Very happy with Lockdown since I wanted a Lockdown that could do the limb swapping thing of Animated. Kind of soured by the random ROTF Lockdown face but, whatever. Also the box art shows green stripes on the hood so crisis averted.
@@PerspectiveEnd In Carranger he was called Signalman. Which is the Super Sentai that was adapted into Power Rangers Turbo. There he was called Blue Senturion. His lightning collection figure is actually one of the best of the line. Sadly my copy came with 2 right holding hands. And classic Hasbro customer service couldn’t send me a replacement hand or copy.
Seeing that only horri-bull is missing to complete the headmaster juniors (D). which means that later they might decide to make nightbeat, siren and Hosehead... I just don't know how they'll do it with those 3 (yes just like squeezeplay or making new molds).
Idea: Visiofuture Mix of Vision and Futre, i.e a worldplay on looking forward! Also: Dafuq?! Why does Breakdowns Head look so…. Feminine…. From the front?!
I definitely wouldn’t mind that breakdown as much if not for the fact that it’s the same tooling as bulkhead. They’re rivals, you’d want to put them next to each other, right? So why make them look like twins?
Looking Forward is a good title for the section, man. Also, I hope they make 3d printed copies of the additional bug leg accesories of those new Insecticons to add to the Legacy ones. I am also disappointed by Filch... I wanted the mainline ROTB Airazor mold to be retooled...
My only thought when I first saw barrage is: Why is his head thinner than paper? (In bug mode) I'm sure there will be reports of stress Mark's on the head
Honestly, 86 Swoop looks like he's fucking mewing, and it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a Transformers toy, and that's making me want him.
perspective, Lockdown is based on the 2009 deluxe, idk if you initially noticed but its an issue to point out and now that i understood swoops issues i'm deeply saddened, ( i knew his face and torso were ugly and wrong but the rest i didn't know about)he was Always my favourite Dinobot but now he looks trash
Sideburn is such a god damn *disappointment*. They didn't even bother with retooling Shadow Striker's alt mode into some close approximation of Dodge Viper, they just reused the already bland as fuck design and slapped blue paint on it. And I was really looking forward to it.
I actually like when Hasbro disappoints, saves me money :D But seriously, I've been holding off the Leader Dinobots for the G2 colours. I try to not cause myself to not want or need old toys by being picky on the colours / head.
I don't remember where i heard this or if i heard this at all but I'm pretty sure they made Swoop wider on purpose so that he "didn't look out of place with the other dinobots" I personally like it but yeah he should've been skinnier
@@LoneWolfInsane Speaking of, I’m surprised we’ve yet to see a Cryotech repaint of the TM2 Megatron figure. You’d think there’d be a listing for it by now.
@@LoneWolfInsane they aren't going to re-release TM2 Megatron again just to slightly change the head. Also these are repaints that people want, you just aren't one of the people
I always thought SS Swoop looked weird and i couldn't tell why. Now i do, thanks for pointing it out. Its still probably a good figure, but not nearly good enough as it could have been
