Was anybody else trippin when they found out this group was also from UK?!? Everything they put out was the jam. I’m glad to have had REAL music to study and rock out to in college.
I knew it when they appeared on Soul Train. After they performed they talked to "Don". Cause before that they hadn't been on American TV, I was like "Okay! that's wasup!"
It's 2023 & I came here to hear "Is this the part you take my heart to wipe your feet on!" I didn't understand that line then, but boy! I understand it now. That's what makes this type of music classic. You grow to truly understand what the lyrics really mean. This type of artistry is truly missed. I agree, Loose Ends never received their just due because their sound was truly unique.
Never heard of em until a night at Bentleys...I was initially upset because they cut the music off and said they had a group performing...Man, this European speaking group did there thing! Needless to say I went and copped the CD the next day!
My brother gained his heavenly wings on New Years (2022) and he loved the heck out of this song! Every time I hear this song it brings tears and good memories of when we all use to get together and have a good time. Damn brother I miss you dearly! R.I.P Slick
My heart goes out to you. I lost my brother at 31 years young. I miss my precious brother every day. Certain songs are bittersweet memories. Sending you hugs 💝🙏
The way I see it anybody that grew up in the 80's was blessed to be around the best time in life because there was alot of awsome artists at that time especially if you loved old school that was the time to be around the partys, bomb fires at the beach man you can't do that anymore 80's baby!Best time of my life miss them days I truely do wish I could go back!No bull!
This is my damn jam!! When I found this album at a thrift store for a dollar,,,perfect condition..and I have a stereo wiith speakers..oh Lord boom goes the room every time I play it. My grand kids love it too!! They are all old souls!!
absolute classic. One of my 3 favorite Loose Ends songs. With "Hanging On A String" & " Stay A little While" That upbeat 80's R&B is some of the best music ever made.
Josiel de Assis, I think celacanto is referring to "this is what America is lacking today," implies this is American, and it isn't. Though saying that, the original comment's sentiment has a deeper meaning, and I'm pretty sure there is good soulful music being created in the USA today it's just different from 80's music. 🙂
This goes so hard...born in 1981 I remember when this came out....I was like 6 or 7 and growing up on the west side of Chicago...you would see mogs driving with their Monte Carlo, Buick Regal, Olds 9-8, etc...back then nobody had foreign whips and this would be jamming on their cassette tape with this playing. That base line beat so hard...you know what time it is when the intro drops. Man they don't make feel good music like this anymore.
My uncle used to jam this every day when he used to pick me up from summer school in the early 80's. Everytime i hear it, my mind immediately go back to then when as soon as he started the car up, the tape would continue on with this song from shutting the car off last. I guess he really loved this song. It created a fun memory for me. Now I slow down, cause i can't take the heat in my age. Because i am the age now, he was then.
This is a classic beyond a classic you can not get no better than this, the party begins with this song and then the party can start, and get down to the business of partying, only a true 80s person knows that, this group got rhythm.
Wot a banging tune iz 11 yrs old when I 1st heard it I’ll never ever FORGET IT!!! Need MORE of these kinda TUNES!!! Pls for da 💗of god or anyone 🙏🙏🙏🎉🎉🎉🎉🎈🎈🎈👍👍👍💖💖💖💕😘😘😘
One of my musical mentors Nick Martinelli produced this SMASH! Bruce Weeden engineer! Great song done at Alpha Studios in Philly... Learned a WHOLE LOT at that place! 💯
LET START BY SAYING I'M NOT YELLING AT ANYONE I JUST LIKE UPPER CASE LETTERING. I SAW LOOSE ENDS IN CONCERT THEY WERE SUPER AWESOME OUTSTANDING. ONE OF THE BEST TIMES OF MY LIFE.
HOT, HOT NYC summers, stomping around Manhattan, getting those tall Arizona Iced Tea cans when they FIRST came out, home-burned CD in my Sony disc player, trying to look cool for the pretty girls passing by... those teen days with music like this. I can close my eyes and be right back there!
I m a 80s baby I remember my dad use to play this when I was little and he drive a Buick and still driving Buick thru tha streets of charlotte old school young buck don't know bout this.
Had a graduation party for my nephew best friend and one of my old school boys put this on in the middle of the party and the young kids went crazy dancing when they seen how we get down to this and the rest of the party was straight old school.
I've always loved this group. I was first attracted to this group by their name "LOOSE ENDS", I thought that was so cool and their music was and is phenomenal.
This group put Croydon, South London on the map with this classic tune. The music world was thinking Loose Ends was a American group not UK. Was at school with Jane S....aka, Eugene.
This takes me so far back. i can remember my mom hittin the block in her black chevy s10 lil pickup truck jus knockin. Her lil system was so loud n full of bass. I would run out n dance in the front yard. Of course me doin all the lastest dances.
They can try all they can t reach this level from 70 till 90 the musik has never been better .Nowadays the music entertainment is sick.End of the world sick.
Loose ends does not get the recognition they deserve ,they had to be the best British soul and funk band ever! There sound is so unique and polished !!! there music was and still is very genuis!!
