Oh yes Dante, the guy who is not allowed to die, because the Imperium needs him to kick some ass in the name of the Emperor & Sanguinius.

I have to admit, the idea of the Blood Angels' Lord Commander going "THIS PARTY'S GETTING _CRAZY,_ LET'S ROCK" before going to town on some Chaosspawn is rather amusing.

Roboute Guilliman had come to Baal. There was no mistaking it. Dante had seen the primarch before, shut away in a stasis field in the Fortress of Hera on Macragge, where he had sat a second from death for most of the Imperium's history. But here he was, alive and breathing. The primarch's physical presence hit Dante hard. Guilliman was nobility writ large, a monument in flesh. He was overwhelming. Ignoring the hurts of his healing wounds, Dante fell to his knees with a clatter and dropped his head. "Can it really be true? Is it really you? Do you live?" The primarch stood and set his sword aside, and came down the steps. "Get up, Dante, said Guilliman gently. "I will not accept displays of humility from a man like you. You are one of the few in this era who have earned the right to speak with me on equal terms. Rise. Now" Dante grunted with pain as he attempted to get to his feet. Guilliman grasped Dante's pauldrons and bodily hauled the Chapter Master up. "Forgive the indignity, Guilliman said. "I see you are hurt!" Dante nodded numbly. "Never kneel before me again. I will have you stand with me as a mark of respect. I will order you not to if I must. I would rather our relationship not function on those terms. I have no time for deference, there is too much to do. Though, if your pains are great, you may of course sit", he said with the ghost of a smile. "Is this a dream or a vision?" "Neither. I live. I have returned to save the Imperium", said Guilliman. "Forgive me, my lord." Dante had to step back to look him in the eye. "I failed. I called together all the Chapters of the Blood, and lost them all to save Baal. The Arx Angelicum is in ruins. Thousands of Space Marines are dead, and Baal is devastated." "Forgive?" said Guilliman. "There is nothing to forgive, Dante. You stopped them. When we arrived, the hive fleet was greatly depleted, and easily destroyed. As we speak, the Indomitus Crusade is scouring this system of the last remnants of the tyranids. You have achieved what few others have, and destroyed a major hive fleet tendril. I would congratulate you, but there is nothing I can say that encompasses the scale of what you have achieved." Guilliman put a hand on Dante's shoulder. "You have saved Baal from the hive mind, Commander Dante, and with it the greater part of this segmentum". At that, Dante wept freely. "I am sorry, I am sorry", he said. "I almost lost. I almost lost everything. Please forgive me." "There is nothing to forgive." Dante did not hear. Overwhelmed by his hurts and the luminous presence of a living primarch, he collapsed to the ground.

"My son, my greatest son" - Sanguinius to Dante.

It's both sad an heartwarming to read Guilliman's behaviour with Dante. You can tell he misses his brother a lot, yet you can tell he's very glad to have someone so true to Sanguinius as Dante to lead the Blood Angels. Making him the Lord Commander of the Imperium Nihilus must have felt like a cruel callback to the Imperium Secundus.

'You have suffered greatly for mankind's sake,' said Sanguinius. His voice was beautiful. 'You have won your rest a thousand times. Rarely has one man given so much, Luis of Baal Secundus. You have been a light in dark times. I would give you any reward. I would take you to my side. I would free you from strife. I would release you from pain.' 'Yes!' said Dante. 'Please. I have served so long. Grant me the freedom of death.' Sanguinius gave Dante a look out profound sorrow. 'I cannot. I regret that I can do none of those things. I need you, Dante. Your suffering is not done.' Sanguinius gripped Dante's face in both hands. Strength flowed from the Primarch, driving out death's comfort and replacing it with pain. The scene rippled. He heard the shouts of Space Marines, felt the ghostly touch of living hands upon his armour. Sanguinius faded. 'Please, no!' Dante cried out. 'My lord, I have done enough. Please! Let me rest!' The light was dying; Sanguinius' smile carried with it the sorrow of ten thousand years. Darkness was returning. The Great Angel disappearing into it, but his glorious voice lingered a moment. 'I am sorry, my son, that you cannot rest. Not yet. Live, my son. Live.' Dante returned to life screaming for the mercy of death. Hands were all over Dante, holding him down. Sharp pains intruded via his neutral shunts. 'No, no, no! No more! Take me with you! I beg you!' Dante shouted.

Dante after killing the Hive Tyrant on Baal and meeting his Dad “YES! Finally some fing rest!” Apothecary “HAHA! YAH RIGHT!”

Never forget that time Dante drove a motorcycle up the stairs of his thousand year old fortress fighting Tyranids as he went

I really like the story of Dante. In general, to be a Space Marine, let alone a heroic one or chapter master, you have to be genetically perfect and the best of the best physically - one in one thousand of the best canditates, who are themselves made up of one in one thousand of the best citizens. They are strongest of the strongest; and the smallest of physical imperfections means death. I myself was born with a congenital heart defect that has always caused me issues. So it's nice to know that with the blessing of the Emperor and a bit of luck, even those who were dealt a bad hand physically can become superhuman heroes of the Imperium. Determination and will can overcome any physical shortcoming if you have enough faith.

I actually really like how sparsely decorated his armor is compared to many chapter masters. It Not only harkens back to an earlier age in the miniature skulpts, representing his age, but he also is an incredibly humble guy. I hope they never Primaris him

Lord Commander Dante is by far a figure of legendary status for his nobility, his ferocious fighting skills, his ideals of what it truly means be a Space Marines inspire billions, and truly a proud son of the Angel. Dante have gain the respect of all of the Imperium for being a Space Marine, but it is his human nature that will cement his legend as a corner of Imperial History.

Dante is my favorite character aside from Sanguinius. Dante may be even older than 1500 years. I remember it was written that even captain Lysander of the IF who was lost in the warp for a 1000 years could not recall a time when Dante did not reign supreme over the Blood Angels

This is why I love wk40k and the institutes videos about it. Every character, every chapter is "the chosen one" of the imperium in their own epic.

The most emotional moments about Dante, for me, were when the Devastation of Baal was done and he laid there half dying and delusional and he saw Sanguinius that told him he was his greatest son... That and when he was dragged to face Guilliman and he saw his father supporting him up and asked him if he was proud of him that he became an angel... Still brings tears to my eyes.

It's funny and yet really sad that the ones keeping the imperium going, Dante as the regent of the dark imperium, Guilliman essentially leading the imperium and the Emperor himself stuck on the golden throne are ones who gave everything for the imperium and want to die are doomed with the responsibility of keeping the imperium and humanity from the eradication.

Forgot to mention than the man was granted a chat with the Silent King himself. And it was not only about Tyranids. The King told him stuff that remain unknown. No a single human ever did this.

I have a feeling that essence that saved Dante when he was dying of thirst was the emperor cause as the new dark imperium book revealed the amount of people worshipping someone as a god could make that person a actual god and revealed that he could be more powerful than the chaos gods cause there are more people worshipping the emperor than there is the chaos gods

Truly, The Emperor has blessed us with the Angelic Host. He has blessed us with Templin.

As a Blood Angels player, this gave me such a high amount of pride I teared up a little, and forever cemented my belief that the Blood Angels have the best, most well written, lore based characters of any Marine chapter.

I read that it’s sometimes very hard for Dante to barely stand and his wounds barely even heal anymore and he’s in tremendous amounts of pain

I just need to say this, who ever your writer(s) are, they don't get paid enough. You guys always do an awesome job!

Plot Twist: Sanguinius made it all up to keep Dante alive so he can steward the blood angels long enough for Sanquinius to return

That moment, where a RU-vid video on a fake hero… makes you shed a tear.

Dante is just one of the coolest and badass characters in 40k who is also just an all around great guy as well.

The term living legend does not fully express his might and power.

For Dante, for Sanguinius, for the Emperor!

Glory to Luis Dante, Lord of Angels, Lord Commander of Ninth Legion, Imperial Regent of Imperium Nihilus and all around badass. All he needs is to grow angel wings and imperium got itself a legitimate mini-Sanguinius. (Unlike that one time when the Ninth got pranked by Tzeentch.)

One quote of his in the Blood Angels series was that if any marine doubted his ability to lead the Blood Angels he would see him and 10 of his Battle Brothers in the fighting pit. You know damn well he would wipe the floor with all 11 of them.

It pleases me to see my legion get the attention it deserves. Especially when it comes to the greatest of their number. Dante’s role as Warden of Imperium Nhilius needs more attention.

Dante personifies the reason why, even though I have collected Ultramarines (because of their practicality) or Black Templars (because they have a kick-ass aesthetic) or Black Legion, I always end up coming back to the boys in blood red.

Just cannot comprehend how Dante doesn't have a new model. He is the most iconic Space Marines.

Very few Warhammer novels moved me the way it did when witnessing Dante meet Sanguinius and plead to be by his side and to have the rest he so deserved only for his Lord to tell him his fight was not yet over.
