I mean, besides colore, is there a reason to play this above Kambal ? Like every noncreature spell seems way better than the first spell each turn. 2 damage vs converted mana cost isn't that big of a deal since we're all playing the cheapest most efficient cards. It hits the player casting a spell which is a big upside because you're actively punishing the player winning the game whereas I feel lord of pain can be used by opponents because since they decide the order they play their spells, they can politics you into hitting whoever they wan't. And like 3 mana vs 5 is a huge deal. Ok I got a bit sidetracked here since I love Kambal very much. In the Ad Naus/storm days he was soooo under rated.

No. Kambal is better. It is just that Kaerravek might like it inside the 99. But I have played a lot of Kaerravek in cEDH so I can say this will struggel from only that. I also think Kambal struggels :P

is there a way to make Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls viable in cedh? like Rakdos stacks effects like blood moon..contamination...group slug...ect...drown them in advantage?

I would go for groupslug and turbo combo where you have card draw advantage in command zone. It should work kinda ok. But not great. Your wincon should be ad naus and breach stuff. Dualcaster mage and twinflame.

Is it cedh viable. Probably not. Is it a bad card? Naw I can see some good rakdos value decks with this commander at the helm

@@turtleman9468 i think you have to treat him like some kind of slicer strategy, make the damage really matter, keep the board clear and be the villain, the powerlevel is just too low

The card is not bad, it’s of course not cEDH viable, but in a casual setting can be really good in life lose decks, especially as the game gets longer.

What are the best cEDH cards from Duskmourn? I've seen a few good cards for casual play, but nothing outstanding enough to make the cut in cEDH. Maybe I'm wrong. Thanks a lot! :)
