***** I strongly disagree with you. The bass is one of the most versatile instruments in existence. It can be used to play chords, bass, melody, you name it. Listen to guys like Victor Wooten, Michael Manring or Adam Ben Ezra, these guys really push the instrument's capabilities to the absolute limit (And beyond).

The strings Zander uses make the bass go 1 octave higher in the top 3 strings i think, so it has a very big range. Due to the length of the neck and thickness of the strings tapping is made very much easier (at least for me), the tone gets fuller and bigger, and 4 strings are enough of a span to have at least 2 octaves in one position, so you can get any chord from it. Any instrument is versatile in the right hands.

Zander... this is superb work, as good as it gets in a lost of ways, I listen to a ton of jazz fusion players, and have a rock/reggae/hip hop/funk background, but this is probably the most moving type of playing I've heard. Yup. You did it!

This is awesome. I've always felt the bass was an under utilized instrument and thought it should be used on par with lead instruments. It has much better and fatter sound than the instruments which typically steal the show.

It 'capos' select strings, rather than having to capo all the strings. During the video, you can see me changing which strings it capos.

This is probably a long shot but who knows. @zanderzon I've been using piccolo bass strings on my Ibanez AFB-200 full hollow body for about 6 months and couldn't be happier with them (thanks by the way!). My only issue is that I find running it through my bass amp the lower tones often overpower my overall sound which takes away from the incredible range of these strings. What kind of amp/effects do you use? Long live the art of the solo bass

@@marion.4129 you mean @ 1:34 ? It's actually the Edoras theme (the capital of Rohan) it's not the one played on the plains of Rohan but rather in the court and at the funeral, etc.
