I just watched LoDR for the first time after being a massive HP fan and oml are they similar. Young hero’s that realistically can’t stand up to the threat they face but somehow does it anyway? ✅ an old super powerful wizard that is doesn’t do anything other than give advice? ✅ Artifact(s) that is/are tied to the main villain that the protagonists go on a long quest to destroy because there is only one or a few very specific ways to destroy them that also happen to corrupt the protagonists which almost causes them to betray each other? ✅

Sauron soul is immortal, he doesnt need to split his soul. Sauron only put his soul and power to the ring so he can control the leaders of men, elves and dwarves. Inadvertantly because of the ring he was able to return to arda insread of halls of mandos

You can tell when MOR truly loves a movie when he quotes so many of the original lines from it. During Elrond's council when Boromir says "one does not simply walk into Mordor" i would have added, "but that is literally what they do in the whole movie." XD

I watched these movies years ago. All though it's impressive and the CGIs still holds up, I did not wish to rewatch these ever. I remembered fighting the urge to fall asleep halfway through it, it's super fing long. Maybe it would be different if I watched it on theater.
