I think the fact that Sauron fears Numenor out of all kingdoms, nothing would give him greater pleasure than seeing its King fall into shadow. I truly think Pharazon, not his coward of a son, will become the Witch King of Angmar. Pharazon consistently shows he is willing to do shady things to remain in power. Sauron knows this and will use it to his advantage. The Stranger is indeed Gandalf.

I just noticed this as well. Notice that after Pharazon looks into the Palantir and sees Sauron, upon releasing it, he clenches the same side he stabbed Frodo on Weathertop. If Pharazon turns out to be the Witch King.

@@TheZboy2010he's not wrong it makes very little sense. How an earth did an Elvic city not see a huge army with multiple fires. How did sauran get to dwarves and back without the orcs attacking. Why has sauron taken so long to use that ability. Why are the elves running around panicking like humans. Why did the dad not tell the daughter about her friend being murdered by that crappy villain character. Why did galderiel just tell adar everything she knew. Why is there zero military hierarchy in eregion where that body turns up and so easily swept under the rug. Why does tom give the wizard such a dumb and illgoical choice. Why are there orcs abandoning the army, is it to go back to their families and live in peace? The bat thing was just unbelievably ridiculous and keep them away for barely a moment. Does durin have no one loyal to him to hold back digging and create a moral dilemma for dwarves if following their king. Why is the elven smith so easily manipulated by the most basic flirting. Why is celebrimnor the most dumb character to ever exist. There is literally no one on this show to route for because so many dumb illgoical choices happen. It's simply a fanfic so I'm hoping good action at least. I find it very entertaining how ridiculous they keep making it

This ep really just dives deep into the chaos orchestrated by Sauron, blending power struggles, manipulation, and subtle nods to Tolkien’s lore. The intricate weaving of deception-especially between the elves, dwarves, and orcs-highlights Sauron's cunning as he divides Middle-Earth. But honestly, some of the character choices feel perplexing. The entire bit with Adar learning the truth about Sauron, then inexplicably ignoring it, feels like a stretch. It's as if the writers are pushing conflict for conflict's sake, and at times it lacks the grounded logic that made Tolkien’s original stories so compelling.

Tolkien wrote that no Orc would ever negotiate with an Elf, and Adar has no reason to trust Galadriel. Yes, she told him the truth about Halbrand, but on the same time she made it very clear that she does not care about the future of the Orcs at all. Adar wants to destroy Sauron. Why should he care if Eregion falls or not? Less Elves, less enemies. He clearly is too realistic to believe in a peaceful side by side of Elves and Orcs.

First season was very very very hard to watch, this season flows much better. And I think I disliked how they’re playing Galadriel in the show, and this season has less of her, so that takes away that complaint.

It doesn’t live up the hype as far as writing, plot development, character development compared to the book but it’s a show and it can’t be exactly like a book. It’s rly the writing and how things are kinda just all over the place for the watcher. It’s still a good show. I think everyone just expected so much more since it’s a series with an insane budget and not limited like a film would be.

Adar not believing Galadriel has to do with Pride, the big sin of this episode. He's so prideful about his tricking Galadriel into giving him information and his plan to defeat Sauron that he will not listen to her obvious point.

The Rings Do have an effect on dwarves; they make them greedier and angrier as the episode depicts. Sauron just cannot directly control them the way he does men without all 17 Rings in his possession, and with that, he may be able to influence even the elves.

acquiring more rings does not increase Saurons power or influence. The rings made the dwarves more greedy but that wasn't the expected outcome and served no real prurpose considering the dwarves are around inthe 3rd age fending off the Orcs and Saurons forces the entire time in the north.

Also nobody knew Sauron was back until much later on. He was never betrayed either. He ruled werewolves, vampires and many more creatures instead of orcs

Morgoth near the end of his rule is probably a fair bit weaker than Sauron at full strength. Melkor expended almost all his energy on the infusion of evil into the fabric of Middle Earth. So Morgoth after that is to his original strength as Sauron at full strength is to him after losing the one ring to Isildur. Still pretty strong, but he wasn't even defeated by a Vala in the end, rather by a Maia like Sauron. (And Sauron at full strength is probably the strongest of all Maia) On the subject of Adar being notably stupid at Galadriel's point of Sauron wanting him to attack Eregion, I think the point is that Sauron's influence over him is still present, even if Adar would seek to destroy him. They keep reinforcing the point that once someone has trusted Sauron, he will forever hold the puppet strings over them. That doesn't mean they cannot defy him, but it does mean that if he wishes to, he can pull the puppet strings by using their own desires to further his ends. This is likely somewhat supernatural, and is the basis for the power that Sauron would eventually imbue into the One Ring.

Adar will die this season since we see Sauron w/ his crown back. Unless Adar somehow escapes w/o the crown. Lmao !!!! I didn’t even think of Sauron wanting the crown brought to him (and ring). Dude is smart AF…thinking they’d use those and all … he predicts everything lmao. BUT why would he want abt rings back … like the dwarves rings that he takes back etc. DUDE, the whole point is for the ppl to wear them so they can be controlled through the 1 ring. “Give me the ring back so I can’t manipulate you anymore,” like wtf is that? As a lifetime Tolkien fan, I waited forever for some kind of decent adaptation of First and Second Age stories lore. Season 1 was a big letdown. But Season 2 is winning me over. I see the compromises they're making and - for the most part - I get why they did them and overall they work well, considering. Some of the casting is excellent, as well as the performances. Some of the dialogue is spot on .... though they'll suddenly switch away to modern language here and there lol. Overall really enjoying it!

Sauron is a really immpressive character in this season. There are obviously a tonne of people hating because "lore" despite not knowing much. of it themselves... but they've actually done Sauron rather well in this and I'm along for the ride. I've read most of Tolkiens works and the fact we are getting as show based loosely around his writings is brilliant. People taking parts of the show word for word are basically gatekeeping, not to mention the right wing section of the Tolkien fanbase who I find utterly insufferable. Geek culture on the whole has been gatekept for a few decades and thats just a fact.

I’m so hype for episode 7 and 8. Prediction is arondir will get to exact revenge against Adar. But will not follow through after he defeats him in combat. I’m sure we will see Sauron stab Adar and get a mirrror of the scene in episode 1

Sauron wants Adar to attack and makes sure that the Elves are not prepared. He also took over management of the city and did nothing when they found the dead guard. In the books the Orcs do attack and destroy Eregion, too, and we do not know if Celebrimbor was prepared for war.

@@anni.68Sauron wants Adar to attack, but Sauron himself didn't do anything. Its basically dumb people around him doing everything for Him. Like even when Calebrimbor was outside, nobody came up to Him. Yea sure makes sense

@@elpeacecarter When Celebrimbor went outside he only saw a vision, not the reality. How should people who are part of an treacherous illusion talk to him? Apart from that Sauron told Mirdania that on behalf of Celebrimbor he himself takes over management of the city. Why should she not believe him? Up to then they had lived in peace for 1500 years, and Sauron had presented himself as a Maia and a messenger of the Valar. That's as if the archangel Gabriel himself descends and tells you to trust him and that he will take care of all problems.

He doesn’t need to ‚ask‘ the dwarfs for mithril.. he can conjure his own imbued with his essence to completely bend the will of whomever wears the rings crafted by him.. Sauron is way too powerful for anyone at the current state of affairs(besides Tom ofc).. he is playing his big 4d chess so that he can get all the control

I enjoy the show. It sucks its not completely book accurate, but they are doing this show with their hands tied with restrictions. I believe the stranger is a blue wizard, and he chose his path(friends) he was not intended to fail, but that's why the blue wizards aren't in the third age. Something caused the blue wizards to fade into oblivion, and i hope this story goes into it even more. That's not in the books, so it's nice.

I think it’s Gandolf, because they keep talking about the power of fire. And it just makes a lot of sense. Which is fine for me personally. I really love the stranger. I get people might not like to change it from the lore, but I think people have the liberty to take and do certain things I wanna don’t personally see that creative decision as some massive betrayal

The Stranger is one of my favourite characters, too. Gandalf being the Stranger would be fine but the term "secret fire" is a reference to Eru/God and the power of creation that only God possesses. All the Istari were servants of the secret fire.

Is it just me, or was this episode really dark most of the time? I had to turn up the brightness on my tv just for this episode, its almost as bad as thst GoT episode Battle of Winterfell.
