My first invasion sadly ended with me getting sniped by a radiant Pilgrim right after I tossed the invader off a (damaging but nonlethal) drop with the umbral lamp's soul-flay. Love the moveset variety on weapons. Lights, heavies, swapping 1h-2h, kicks, the L1 + R2 attacks, etc. I just feel like we're missing an indicator for our own posture. Also I feel it's kinda weird that Pieta's sword is not a Long Sword? Does make me want to swap to a Radiance build instead of the Str + Radiance I was planning.
Pietas sword is the meta weapon in the game. It does rediculous damage and procs smite nearly instantly with each hit. And the radiance spells are all ridiculously hard hitting in pvp and pve
It needs better connection but not awful mechanically atleast, if they get the fluid connection like elden has the combat would be the best/most balanced possibly, all they need is some performance fixes which they've been doing
@@christopherdamon6599 I have full pvp set dummy By worst experience, I mean the connection and disconnect issues, the fact that I can just use 1 spell to delete people, the level loss glitch issue (because at some point I lost 80 levels after an invasion). This was by far the worst pvp of any souls like.
I like the visuals and the attacks. Pretty cool, pretty cool.. i don't know about the invasion though. Maybe it's because it's not that old yet and there things to optimise. But honestly, pretty neat.
There is a shared shrine of sorts you can donate you're hands to. It's a covenant system. There appears to be stuff you can buy with the hands too, but I don't know what those are yet.
I'm running dual of those holy swords with the holy posture damage talisman, and posture damage runes and they're op. 68 is max scaling level it seems. Mana continues going up
@@Oroboro yea that’s what I mean and it’s kinda annoying to watch you get stunned because you can’t tell so you can play a bit more defensive once it’s low. I’m new and just trying to get my buddy to join co-op is a nightmare
I watched your vids before getting AC6 and I ended up doing all 3 endings and getting 100%. I also got pretty good in the PVP. Is this game worth the full price? Whats its length like? Im always nervous buying Souls-like games from devs that arent Fromsoft. I think the only one i enjoyed was Nioh
4:00 is uberhaxornova just came from watching his vod to see if he made it in the video. poor guy was trying to get his vigor back when it popped up and I couldn't stop laughing because I knew what was coming for anyone interested in seeing the other perspective it happens at 05:48:52 on his first vod on twitch
The game is really fun playing with another person or by yourself is great and I love that aspect of the game. PvP is a joke though if you’re not dealing with terrible lag then it’s an OP host that one shots you
I think so but it’s not evident in the game. I equipped a poise ring but I don’t think it made a lick of difference. One smack with the longsword and I’m cut out of my animations. With “increased poise”
I got invaded one time and had a random helper appear. They both died to the invaders attack which killed them both. Invaded another time and did *_no_* damage to the invader. Only 52 damage total at a time with a Grand Axe. Not to mention, the game is just... it's not worth invading right now. Best I can say
It's not peer to peer like in Souls, but everything is dependent on the host. Only what the host sees matters, so if he's got a bad connection, it's gonna suck (for the invader)
It's a lot of fun, the ideas of the game are very intriguing. Has some flaws obviously, but I feel like the devs actually care and wanna work with the community for future updates.
ive yet to have one where i dont de sync or disconnect/face huge amounts of lag. every other games multiplayer is working fine. switched from this to elden ring and everything worked on elden ring. they need to fix the net code
Looks way more scuffed and unsatisfying than I thought it would. Guess Fromsoft really are the only ones who do animation and technical combat mechanics the way I like..
That fight at 7 mins was freaking awesome even though you lost. Most souls streamers if I remember right don't showcase their defeats. So that makes you awesome. Also how many invaders are allowed? And is it like elden ring where you can only invade active coop sessions?
I just had my first PvP invasion a bit ago. Dude just stood there and healed when I ran out of stamina. I eventually killed him when he ran out of healing. Then I popped the Xbox achievement and immediately went offline.
It's desyncing issues, there basically is no animation you just see the attack and get stun locked. These were better connections than I ever saw and it still looked horrible.
@@almightyj6508 wait and buy. The devs are patching the game super fast. They just dropped another patch like an hour ago so when you do get it, it will be solid at the rate things are going
I can't do invasions had to go offline to keep from being invaded usually I love pvp but it's so laggy with this game I can dodge or parry I just get r1 spammed to death
These invasions actually look like one of the best soul-like elements in this game. The umbral system gives the host that classic host advantage but with some flavor, and as a host you really don't want to have to go into that advantage HP since it means you'll be in umbral until you get your next chance to rest (though iirc LotF gives the ability to plop down a psuedo-bonefire to un-umbral, but it's still a cost I think?) Anyway, this is making me a lot more interested in trying this game than your PvE vods did tbh.
@@Flamewarden_Honoushugoshinyou're meant to play it on ps5, barely have issues on mine, most come from PC since it's designed for SSD and rlly should prob be exclusive at launch so people will stop complaining
be careful bro new bug just dropped that permanently randomizes your stats when hosts dc from you. bricked my first playthrough charater a couple of hours ago just cause i wanted to do a few invasions. now hes a lvl 75 with less stats then a lvl 45
Brandon, imo, Elden Ring would be the perfect game if it had DS2 covenants and invasions. Do you agree? And consecutive wins in the ER arena will give you a glowy effect just like in DS2.
Invasions are the only thing they could have done better than Fromsoft but at this point I wish they didn’t implement it and put resources into something else.

The game is solid, just as the other guy said, dont play online just yet.
Pvp right now its just stupid 😅 the host have such a huge advantage in therm of connection the host cant be hit even if my blade go right on him and he dont get stagger at all
Well said. I’m loving every aspect of the game including PvP but that side of it could use a few tweaks to smooth out the experience. Especially for the invaders. It’s saying something that I’ve never lost to an invader in my world, but flipping the script and becoming the invader is like taking a cheese grater to the face 😂😂😂 I’ve been melee struck from bow and spell range as well as double teamed by a pair both dual wielding Pietas sword for a whopping total of 4 Pieta swords. Instant smite. Every touch earns a lightning bolt straight to my dome. 😂😂😂
@@NinjaAF2099 radiance heal and there’s another aura that heals constantly but drains mana over time, that’ll let you wield any other weapon and tank every bit of smite, ring of posture will save you as well. Once they nerf pieta and blessed reflections everyone is gonna call the game trash cause their weapon was nerded and have zero clue how to build anything else
@@NinjaAF2099 their servers need a lot of work, and since it’s a peer to peer connection if their internet sucks or your on the other side of the world you’ll lag a lot
@@SamuelLua true in a way the game sets you up with a meta sword super early so everyone is inclined to radiance at the moment. I’m working towards umbral strength but trying to iron out the level caps. It’ll be a higher level build to do any real damage.
the peer to peer is busted for coop and pvp single player is dependent on how well the optimization works on your platform pc/console setup @@sethrussell7771
I’ve played PVP pretty heavily over the last week to get the Adyr Set. My takeaway from about 200 invasions with my Lvl 35 Umbral build: - Host almost always gets priority hits due to invasions being host-based instead of peer-to-peer. - Radiance is OP. If you come across someone with Pieta’s sword, put on something with radiance protection and keep your distance. - Poison is very effective, especially at low levels where they don’t have much health. - Charred fingers are often not worth the risk of investment. Only use them when you’re certain you’re going to win. Sometimes the payout doesn’t even happen, which I hope they fix. - PVP is overall not as bad as people say it is, but it still needs a lot of work.
Is dudes like I was trying to be nice but you were the one who invaded the other dude in the first place under no circumstances is the person that's being invaded have to be nice to the invader 🤡. Play for real if you invade somebody and you get tea bag taunted slow claps get the point down emotes done to you it's literally all fair game because you're the one invading somebody else that was minding their own business.
I already know what it will be Elden ring doesn't happen with 1 game, this is like early demon souls stage, and this looks like emergency adding feature like what code vein who originally single player to have coop online What i think best for this type is since this is peer to peer connection, adding rollback like fighting game kinda nice idea
