I was lied to by this doctrine after I got saved. It led me to constant doubt over my salvation. I’m now beginning to overcome this lie.

Joe Kirby wound up on my feed and o wound up rededicating myself to the lord although I still had that belief I was away from the church so long that the lord was able to speak to me about this for once I was kinda in between tbh I wasn't for sure mainly cause some of the elders of the charismatic church I went seemed to have this stance but I'm glad I've been fully delivered and shown the truth I was never proud but deceived unfortunately to many false teachers out there this the only way stuff like rest makes no sense how can you find rest when you feel condemnation I stayed away from god for 9 years cause of this but now I I know and I feel blessed I realize now that those people are to proud and that why they're like that I couldn't be around God it was heavy but understanding the fullness of grace is light amen

Absolutely nobody has ever been saved by dedicating their life to Christ. A prayer of commitment saves nobody. Acts 16: 31, " And brought them out and said sirs what must I do to be saved? And they said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Jesus paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation. *This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.*

@@hogansheroes2793 I never dedicated my life to Christ. My now pastor sat me down one day and reminded me of the gospel and the consequences of not believing. I knew then that if I did not believe the gospel then I was going to go the hell. So, I’m my car I believed that I was a sinner with absolutely no hope, that Christ is the Son of God, that he is Lord, that he died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. It was shortly after that I stumbled across Paul Washer and those other wastes of space like him.

Similar testimony myself, when I thought a person had to quit drinking alcohol to be saved, I couldn’t do it. When I got saved by trusting in Christ alone, then I actually experienced the grace of God and his unconditional love and that strengthened me to quit permanently. @marksorenson5871 Repent and believe are not synonyms. Jesus Peter and Paul said Repent first then Believe Mark 1:15 Acts 3:19 Acts 20:21 Acts 22:16 Acts 26:18-21 Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God died on the cross was buried and rose again for our sins? Acts 2:31-32 If yes then everything Jesus preached on repenting of sin applies to Gentiles as well Luke 24:45-47 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, And REPENTANCE FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS will be preached in His name to 👉ALL NATIONS 👈Starting in Jerusalem. Jesus said: Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Jesus again reaffirms Peter to start the church in John 21:17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things: you know that I love you." “Feed my sheep. When did Peter start the church? Acts 2 is the day of pentecost which is the start of the church. This was the first time in church where some asked how to be saved. 37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles,( Including John)“Brothers, what shall we do? 38Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off. (meaning gentiles) for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Note Peter said the same thing as Jesus We repent of sin for the forgiveness of sins for salvation. Peter again includes Gentiles. Acts 11:18 When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, So then, even to Gentiles God has granted REPENTANCE THAT LEADS TO LIFE". Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance but now COMMANDETH ALL PEOPLE EVERY WHERE TO REPENT. Acts 20:21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they MUST TURN TO GOD IN REPENTANCE AND HAVE FAITH in our Lord Jesus. Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on the name of the Lord. Jesus and Paul Acts 26:18-20 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, SO THAT THEY MAY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS OF SINS and a place among those who are SANCTIFIED BY FAITH IN ME.’ 19“So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven.20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should REPENT AND TURN TO GOD and demonstrate their REPENTANCE by their deeds. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 Yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because YOUR SORROW LED YOU TO REPENTANCE. For YOU BECAME SORROWFUL as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10GODLY SORROW BRINGS REPENTANCE THAT LEADS TO SALVATION and leaves no regret, but worldly SORROW BRINGS DEATH.

John's gospel was written 60 years after Jesus's death on the cross. Well after Matthew Mark and Luke. John makes this clear in John 20:31 But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name. So after 60 years people were coming to all kinds of notions, with the help of a false teacher named Cerinthus that Jesus was not fully God or that He wasn't truly man. It was getting very close to what Jehovah's witnesse's believe. John wrote to believers that Jesus was truly human when He wept at Lazarus's tomb. Also that He was fully Devine and there are 7 witnesses that He was the Son of God and 7 miricles greater than the other gospels that point to His divinity and seven statements beginning with I am which is God's name. I am the living God. 7 witnesse's 7statements 7 miricles that Jesus was and is fully God. In John's gospel the word believe is always in the present continuous tense,which doesn't mean just believe once, it means go on believing. Everywhere in John's gospel the emphasis is going on believing. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever goes on believing- present continuous tense- Whoever is believing. It means to go on doing something, all the way through John's gospel it means go on believing that Jesus is the son of God, going on believing, you may go on having life. That whosoever goes on believing will never perish but go on having eternal life. Ask any expert in Greek and they will say that's what the original text says. In other words John's gospel was not written to convert people but to encourage believers to continue believing. That's why John doesn't deal with repentance or water baptism because he assumes the readers are already repented and been baptized. The fact that John doesn't mention repentance doesn't mean its not necessary. He's saying go on believing because in Ephesus, where John lived when he wrote it there was a heretic called Cerinthus that was teaching bad things about Jesus and that bad teaching was getting into the church. So John wrote his gospel for believers to encourage them go on believing in Jesus as the son of God. Believing that Jesus is the son of God, going on believing that you may go on having life. John doesn't say to Repent of sin.John also doesn't say anything about Jesus's birth, his water baptism, or the start of His earthly ministry. His temptation and other things are left out as well. Does that mean John didn't believe those things happened? John says the word believe around 95 times. John's message is to encourage us to keep believing. And eyewitness evidence that Jesus is the Son of God. Whosoever Believes, (present continuous tense) What If scripture said Repent of sin, and you don't have to believe? Everyone would agree that makes absolutely no sense. Why would anyone Repent if they didn't believe? Peter : Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 20:21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they MUST TURN TO GOD IN REPENTANCE and HAVE FAITH (believe) in our Lord Jesus. Paul recounts his conversion to Agrippa Acts 26:18-20 To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ 19“So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. 20First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. John's gospel was written for already repented believers. How could an unbeliever understand these verses? John 14:5-6 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 14:12,16,17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father 16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

@@2Chronicles714_ repent means a change of mind it comes from the Greek word Metanoia which means a chang of mind so... for example Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Means "change your mind and believe the gospel" not every time in the Bible the word repent comes up does it mean turn from sins it can be used in many contexts. If it did mean to turn from sins everytime then based off Jonah 3:10 God has sin which isn't true ofc Jonah 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. You can see God repented meaning he changed his mind. All repent means is a change of mind sometimes that may be about sin sometimes it may be about belief, it can be about anything. IE if I planned to go shopping then changed my mind and decided not to that means I repented of going shopping. People grt confused cause they assume every time they see repent in the Bible that it automatically means turn from sins which simply isn't the case.

What’s very interesting is when the disciples discussed what commands they should give to the gentiles it was “to abstain from sexual immorality, from blood, from what was sacrificed to idols, from what was strangled.” Nothing about Jesus, not even “love one another” or “abide in Christ” or “take up your cross” or “sell all possessions” why?? Because all those things happen AT salvation. Everything Jesus commanded occurred when you believed on Him. You clothed the naked, you fed the hungry, you returned home, you were the lost coin found, the sheep Jesus left the 99 to find & you were found, denied yourself & entered through heavens gate, were given a heart of flesh, laws of God written on your mind, love of God poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit, reconciled to God, sealed by the Spirit, sins forgiven, lawless deeds remembered no more, given eternal life, a branch grafted into the vine, immediately began production of love peace & joy that will remain. Now, bear fruit in keeping with repentance…all that occurred the day you believed on Jesus, keep believing on Jesus & keep bearing fruit. So easy, so simple, so instantaneous & so complete that there was no need to give any further command.

He basically is saying just trust in Christ and live how ever you want and your saved. God says" those who love me,will obey me". Repentance is a change of mind about your sin,which will little by little result in a changed life. You can't have God the Holy Spirit living in and remain the same,He will not leave you the same. There will be evidences of the Holy Spirit living in you. And he mentioned something about drinking. Well God's word says no drunkard will enter the kingdom of Heaven, that's someone who drinking and drunkenness is his lifestyle. This guy is the heresy.

@@jamessager9222 I have Hindu neighbors, that are the most polite people you'd ever meet. Not drunks. They volunteer. They are good to their neighbors...etc. Great family people. Are you suggesting that their good deeds prove to you that they are saved? That the Holy Spirit is working in them? If they never mentioned their faith to you, you would say without a doubt that they are saved. But they're not because they are missing the only piece that matters. Faith in Christ. You can not look at someone's outward actions to determine if they are saved. So many Christian leaders have been caught having hidden sinful lives. Wicked lives that include perverted sin. Before they were caught everyone would suggest that they were Godly and filled with the Holy Spirit (Jim Jones). They only had an outward changed life to fleece their congregants. Their inward life was disgusting. You cannot make a judgment based on appearance or the mask someone wears on Sunday. Paul says that we are saved by grace though faith and that it is not of ourselves...NOT of WORKS lest people would become boastful. Like coming online and telling people they aren't saved because they don't exhibit the standard that YOU would have for them. I've never met a perfect person and I'm pretty sure you aren't one. You likely sin often, like the rest of us. That alone condemns you to hell, like the rest of us. Just one sin is all it takes to be punished eternally in hell. Luckily God made a deal with us, that all of our sins are washed away when we accept Jesus Christ by faith in his finished sacrifice on the cross. It's HIS sacrifice that saves, not our own sacrifices to him. When we stand before God, and Christ is our advocate he will not even see our sin. He will see his son's perfection in us. Should we sin, No! Will we pay the price for it here on earth, yes. I suggest you ponder it a little more. True peace is knowing that you can lean on Christ exclusively without worrying about your own self righteousness or your good deeds. Believe on the lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.... Was Paul telling the truth when he said that or did he leave something out? I believe he was telling the truth. I do not advocate for sin... I'd just rather focus on the free gift that I was given. I did not deserve it...nobody does. But he so loved the world.

@@Jesusandcoffee3382 Yea, that's just another way of saying obeying God is evil, you're just so deceived that you don't realize it. What they are calling "Lordship salvation " is the teaching that we must obey our Lord and they think obedience somehow means we don't have faith, which is the opposite of what the Bible actually says. Faith in Christ does not negate commandment keeping, it motivates it. What Christ actually taught is the "foundation", and He taught commandment keeping and good works. "Whoever hears these words of mine AND DOES THEM, i will liken unto a wise man, who built his house on a rock" He even VERY PLAINLY said that those who "believe" in Him, but don't do what He says, will be told "i never knew you, depart from me, you workers of lawlessness ". It's teaching people that they don't have to keep God's commandments or do good works that is evil. That should be obvious, but it isn't to children of Satan. ( otherwise known as " children of disobedience" in the Bible ). By the way, the "true gospel" is that the kingdom of God is near, nowhere does the Bible say the gospel is " Jesus kept the law so you don't have to ". In fact, what is actually said is that, in the kingdom, " the law shall go forth from zion " and the new covenant is that God will give us His spirit, which will write His law into our hearts and cause us to keep His commandments and do them. Jesus is the King, and He will uphold the law. He didn't do away with it. You people have fallen for a lie and are following the antichrist, not the real Jesus of the Bible. " you have heard that antichrist will come, but even now, many antichrist have already entered into the world, teaching damnable heresies." Which do you really think is a damnable heresy, teaching repentance and commandment keeping, or teaching that we don't have to keep God's law ? Stop and think...

Jesus did say the man who said, “Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner” was justified, and he forgave various people’s sins and told the woman caught in adultery to sin no more. The main part of coming to Christ is realizing our sin and need for a savior, that’s why Jesus died. Yes, we won’t be perfect and may sin intentionally and not follow God the best way, but we acknowledge our sin, dislike our sin, and want to be holy. Anyone who thinks they’re going to heaven because they attended church, made a profession of faith (emotionally or impulsively), etc. is in a more dangerous position because they think they are saved when they are not. Yes, Lordship is dangerous, that is when we think we are responsible for our salvation and if we think we get to heaven by keeping the commandments and by not falling from Christ. Christ keeps us, but we have the Spirit and no longer want to sin and will repent or be chastised.

@@2Chronicles714_ You've got to be kidding me. This is the exact passage Jesus talks with Nicodemus in John 3. Titus 3:5 also expressly mentions rebirth. To be born again is what happens when you're saved. To be born again is to receive eternal life. Any passage that talks about how you become saved, is a passage about how to be born again. Any passage that talks about receiving eternal life, is a passage talking about being born again. You are born again by faith in Jesus Christ.

@myname-ns1rp They say Nothing about repentance or nothing about forgiveness of sins. This is the only way to be born again. Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God died on the cross was buried and rose again for our sins?

When obeying God becomes thought of as heresy, you know the antichrist has come. Christianity is following Christ, conforming to His image. If you trust Him, you will do what He said. " Not everyone who calls me 'Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father in heaven" Those of you who think your faith without works is all there is to it are going to feel quite sheepish for calling obedient christians "heretics", when Christ says " I never knew you, depart from me " to you.

Amen. "Lordship" is a type of "works salvation". "What saith the scripture? Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness". "Now unto him that worketh NOT, but beliveth on Him that justifies the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for righteousness". Romans 4:5
@CatzlovichCatnipAndCabbages
In my church growing up the pastor often brought up what he called a "heart knowledge" and a "head knowledge" of salvation. A person can mentally understand the gospel and can understand why Christ died for them, a person can accept these things with their mind but that is not where salvation happens, we do not get saved by mentally understanding why Christ did what he did and saying to ourselves in our mind that we accept what he did for us, that is not salvation. Salvation begins and ends in the heart, you have to know in your heart that you are a sinner who deserves to suffer the wrath of God for eternity because of your sin, you must accept this and know that the only hope that you have to escape God's wrath is through and by believing on the death burial and resurrection of Christ, know that Christ wants you to come to him with a broken heart and ask him earnestly for salvation, if you ask Christ earnestly for salvation you will be saved. A half hearted prayer is not a sincere plead for salvation, a repeated prayer with no remorse or shame for your sin is not salvation, trying to live a sinless life believing that abstaining from sin will save you is not salvation. Salvation comes from a total surrender to Christ, when you fall on your knees pleading and begging the Lord to save you because you know that you need him because you know in your heart that he and only he can save you from your sins, only then will you be saved.

Obviously, your message is true.. which is why most people will reject it. The Lordship argument makes SENSE, to the carnal mind. That's because faith (belief, assurance, the substance of things unseen, trust) is FOOLISH to people. The cross is FOOLISH to people. These people think faith means obedience. They think God sent His Son to die, so they keep commandments.. which Paul made so clear, completely makes His death in vain. They think you have to PROVE you believe, to who? God? The God who sees into us, knows all things? All they do is justify themselves to each other... redefining and twisting God's promises and Word. It blows my mind, God made His Word so PLAIN and SIMPLE. These false teachers complicate it, redefine terms.. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT BELIEVE. It is that simple to me.. they do not believe. They may even pay lip service to the truth of God's grace, yet they are beguiled and beguiling others.. either intentionally, or unintentionally due to blindness.

@@johnbates9946 (1John 2:3-6)Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked…….if there is no evidence of obedience to God’s commandments from the heart (not human effort), and no repentance of sin, they have no Scriptural reason to believe they are saved. What we do demonstrates what we believe…to the impenitent, God is near to the lips, but far from the heart. If Jesus isn’t your Lord, then who is? There are only 2 masters to choose from. Jesus and Satan. There is no neutral ground. The flesh and the self that reigns there, have already sided with Satan…your soul and spirit are in play for eternity. Jesus showed us the way…deny self, take up your cross and follow Him…this is the way, walk in it. Broad is the gate and wide the way that leads to destruction…and many will find it. All must repent of their sins, and yield to His Lordship and pruning…God does the work, we meet His conditions…and in doing so, over time as we walk in the light and renew our minds, He transforms us into the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ to whom we are joined, if we have truly been born again. We must contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints…if the Apostles had preached the heresy that you describe in this video, no one would have martyred them. The cross is an offense to the carnal nature, it’s supposed to be! It separates the sheep from the goats. It’s where we die…with Christ. Gee...when I struggle with sin I repent and God steps in and helps me greatly and I'm totally thankful, not sure I understand what the concern here is. Jesus said "if you love me you will follow my commandments." (John 14) He also said His commandments are not grievous and that the Holy Spirit will guide and comfort us as we grow more into His image over a lifetime. I fail daily and trust he will pull me out of my difficulties over time. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That's not very difficult, pretty gracious of God to give us a way back to right standing with Him. It's not prideful to follow Jesus' warnings, it's the kindest most loving thing a disciple can share with a new believer. God is gracious, slow to anger, loving, patient kind...He's not asking for perfection, He's asking to be loved, a true commitment just as a marriage vow. He knows our frailty and that we are imperfect. But if our love is to grow we continue reading His Word prayerfully and we will naturally fall more and more in love with Him and His beautiful nature. Romans 8 Teaches walking in the spirit and not in the flesh which causes us issues....sure it takes time, onion skin after onion skin...but we don't ignore good teachings for our own good and the good of those around us, right? What does Jesus teach in Revelation ch 1 thru 3? Endure following Him to the end. It's a life long relationship with God helping us overcome until the end, a 'beautiful' relationship growing us one day at a time, the Holy Spirit makes us into Jesus' image as we seek Jesus above all else proving our love just as He proved His love for us on the cross

I might disagree somewhat on the view of repentance. From what I've read in scripture, it appears to mean a "change of mind" from belief in something other than Jesus to save them (like works, works under Mosaic law, Buddha, etc), to belief in ONLY Jesus to save them. I think it's intended specifically for those who believe both Jesus and works save. The water baptism (ie. a mikvah) for the Jews was specifically to help them transition and change their mind from the Mosaic law to save them, to Jesus to save them.

The gospel can be explained in two parts: the bad news and the good news. The bad news: We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory and the wages of sin is death. When someone dies they, left to their own power, are unworthy of God's glory and presence. They will be forced to stand before the great white throne judgement and be judged. Everyone would therefore be found guilty of violating the holy law and be sentenced to the second death. The purity test is agnostic towards good works. If there wasn't a second part to the gospel, this would mean every person goes to hell. This is why the first part of the gospel is called the bad news. The good news: The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus. He sent His only Son to become sin on the cross, die to pay the penalty of sin, and resurrected with victory over death. If you place your trust in Jesus to save you and seek justification through Him then the condemnation of the holy law has no hold over you. Jesus is the scapegoat, the legal loophole and the only way to the Father. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart the Father raised Him from the dead you will be saved. Romans 10:9 All you have to do is to pray this and believe as it is about confession (repent or turn your mind and make a proclamation of faith to the Lord) and believe Jesus. Belief in Jesus is the command given in John. If you are struggling with this I advise you read through John and read through Romans.

@@HarpsDad22 Yes, I have. I refuse to back down from so-called Lordship salvation and preaching a lived out righteousness/sanctification/holiness (same Greek word) by following and the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Whether on Judgment Day I am found to be one who practices lawlessness will be up to my Lord. If the light in me is darkness, then as Jesus tells us, how great that darkness! If you wish to quibble or question have I ever sinned as if that proves your theology correct, I beg to differ. It does not. The scriptures tell us over and over again to live holy, pure lives. If you think all you have to do is "believe" and not even get water baptized, or repent from your sins and do works befitting that repentance, and begin your walk of sanctification by abiding in Christ, you are sadly deceived. Jesus still calls disciples to Himelf. If you take Him at His word, you will know. 2 Thes 2:13 tells us salvation is "sanctification AND belief". Being reconciled, justification, is just the first step. You must then abide in Christ (John 15:1-14;Rom 11:22) or be "CUT OFF". Is there mercy and grace available? Yes, but it should not be presumed that every future sin you commit will be automatically forgiven. You must fear God. God's love is unquestionable. But Our Love toward Him is in questoin. We can't just be plugging our ears and mouthing 1 Cor 15:3-4 and act like 1 Cor 16:22 wasn't written: Love Christ or be accursed. What is it to love Christ? Jesus said those that obey my words (my commandments) are the ones that love me. John 14:15;8:31,51. The discipleship call is one of absolute surrender to follow Christ, to endure, to overcome, to the very end. I stand for Christ in disipleship, in holiness, and in the present day reality of the Holy Spirit, including the "gifts". Seek the Truth.

I have a ESV, NIV and KJV bibles here and Jonah 3 that you quoted the newer translation take the word "repent" out and replace it with "relent"...also they remove that turning from sin as a work, and just state it as "God seen what they did". I fear for the souls of many LS teachers and their followers. Its works salvation in the core, Matthew 7 and the false prophets... They use the passage to focus on sins. But Matthew 12 shows that the fruit is really about the words and teachings after the Pharisees accused Christ that He did His powers through satan. This with the aim to keep people away from salvation in Christ by faith alone.
@outspeaker1229

To clarify, there are around two types of people who say they have faith in Jesus, those to who Jesus says "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?' Then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers’" (Matthew 7:21-23). Those people don't have truly good works done by true faith (the *fruit* of faith which shows and proves to others that you're saved). The second group are those who have a true faith in Jesus, who are the people who John 3:16 actually applies to because this group actually produces works as fruit of salvation. There isn't a certain required amount of fruit, as Jesus says that the seed in good soil produces a surplus of fruit of various sizes. But remember that faith without works is dead and therefore doesn't save; this is the first group. Those who are saved *will* do good works, because real faith leads to good works. Works are required in the law, but in Christ the law has been fulfilled, so faith in Christ brings about the fruit of good works which therefore fulfills the legal *requirement* of good and righteous works.

Jesus is who saves us, and He clearly taught us that there are things that we as Christians ought to *do* (IE works) “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 and the countless commands Jesus gave to people and also to all who seek to follow Him, for example "go and sell all that you own, and give the proceeds to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven", "pull the plank out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye." People should repent and believe in Jesus. Dose’t mean that you have to instantly stop committing all sins. That’s impossible! But trust Jesus and he will help you to overcome your sins. But if you follow Jesus you should try to live right.

I agree a person should try to live right. But living right isn’t a requirement to be saved. And if a person doesn’t live right that doesn’t mean they aren’t saved. Physical judgement comes as a result of sin. Not speaking of spiritual salvation here. A person can live a clean and moral life and incur no physical judgement and still not go to heaven when they die because they didn’t put their faith in Christ. In the same way a person can put their faith in Christ and not live a clean and holy life and as a result incur physical judgement from God but still go to heaven when they die because they were saved

If a wife has an affair, and then affirms her love for her husband, but does not end the affair, that is adultery. Spiritual adultery is like that. No one can put their “faith” in Jesus for salvation if they do not trust Him for deliverance from their enslavement to sin. This is what fiery trials are for. We have His Word that we are sanctified in Christ the moment we put our faith in Him, and if we die the next moment we are saved if we truly broke our love affair with sin…but if we do not forsake sin, we demonstrate that we love the world and the love of the Father is not in us. Repentance from sin is not a “work”, it’s a condition. You cannot be forgiven if you have not repented. Those who justify their sin, are not justified. If a person says they believe in Jesus, but 20 years later they’re still actively sinning, that man was never saved. He never died to the old man, and having never died, he cannot be born again. And you MUST be born again. The gate is narrow and the way difficult and few there be that find it. We are all a work in progress so that none should despair, and there are many different vessels and rooms in the Father’s house…we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling and anyone who continues to willfully sin with no intention of quitting, demonstrate that they are sons of perdition, not sons of God. They have more in common with Baal, than the Messiah. They crucify Christ afresh and there no longer remains a remedy for them because sin hardens the heart. The more we indulge it, the more we wander out of the way and would find ourselves charged with the sin of hypocrisy, cut in half and tossed into outer darkness…what you are saying will certainly swing the wide gate open, and the wide road able to accommodate the masses who were unwilling to turn away from their sin, but God was never impressed with numbers of people who have Jesus near to their lips,but far from their heart…only Jacob and Caleb were able to lead the next generation into the Promise land. Only 8 were saved with Noah…Jesus never watered down his gospel to attract more people. God’s grace covers us as we walk in the light and surrender to the potter’s hands. But we cannot drink from the cup of demons and the cup of the Lord. Without holiness…without a purified heart…all a work of God’s grace within us as we yield to Him…without going through the narrow gate and difficult road…there is no salvation. We would have no fear and trembling whatsoever working out our salvation, if it didn’t matter one way or the other. I fear for the souls that grab hold of what John Bunyan called “cheap grace”. We must mortify sin in the flesh, not comfort it or rename it. Please reconsider your position so that those who might turn to Christ, be disqualified. Many are called…few are chosen. There are only 2 options…we’re either serving God, or serving Satan. There is no neutral ground.
