Let's just take a moment to admire J.R.R Tolkien's beautiful art. I can't believe how one man could have created such an enormous fantasy world. Lord of the Rings is in my opinion, the best thing ever.
It is interesting looking at the whole mass of intermarriages between the Kings of Rohan, Stewards of Gondor, and Princes of Dol Amroth in the late-Third and early-Fourth Age. If you compare the ancestries of Elfwine the Fair and Elboron (Faramir and Eowyn's son), they actually share 6 great-grandparents. And that's on top of the whole question of Morwen of Lossarnach's ancestry. Given her birth date of TA 2922, she could be the younger sister of Adrahil II (b. TA 2917). If so, that means that Faramir and Eowyn, as well as Eomer and Lothiriel, are second cousins. Although, considering that "her family" moved to Lossarnach, she probably would have had to be at least one more generation removed from the ruling line of Dol Amroth, otherwise her immediate family would include ruling Princes.
I have not finished all the video, but it is really cool to learn about the lore of my favorite faction. I knew a few things, but this has certainly expanded my knowledge.
already wrote this on the other video, but had to write it again. Im at roughly 13 minutes into the video and i have to say that i absolutely LOVE them! Thanks a lot!
There's a few mistakes here and there, and as always, I will list them (along with some details): -We actually do know what happened to Baldor son of Brego: Return of the King pp50-51 'THE PASSING OF THE GREY COMPANY' 'Before him were the bones of a mighty man. He had been clad in mail, and still his harness lay there whole; for the cavern's air was as dry as dust, and his hauberk was gilded. His belt was of gold and garnets, and rich with gold was the helm upon his bony head face downward on the floor. He had fallen near the far wall of the cave, as now could be seen, and before him stood a stony door closed fast: his finger-bones were still clawing at the cracks. A notched and broken sword lay by him, as if he had hewn at the rock in his last despair.' So yes, he's dead. -Also, the feast that Baldor declared that he would go into the Haunted Mountain, was to celebrate the completion of Meduseld. -The Marshals were more military commanders rather than lords. There were three Marshals, the First Marshal, stationed in Edoras and in command of the Muster of the Kingsland and Edoras. The Second Marshal is based in the Hornburg, and is in command of all the Muster of the Westfold and West Emnet. The Third Marshal is based in Aldburg, and is in command of the Muster of the Eastfold, the Wold, and East Emnet. After the War of the Ring, Éomer reformed it, and so there became two Marshals; the Marshal of the West-mark and the Marshal of the East-mark. -Freca wasn't a marshal, rather he was a lord or thane. -Gondor actually was the main reason Rohan survived the Siege of the Hornburg during the Long Winter. -We don't actually know when Thorongil came to Rohan, since Thorongil defeats the Corsairs in 2980. -It wasn't the Rammas Echor that hindered the Rohirrim, rather it was the army that blocked off the road to Minas Tirith. When they did reach the Out-Wall, they slew the defenders upon the parapets.
Albert Briones After this paragraph, Aragorn immediately talks about symbelmyne and the House of Eorl. Who, of the House of Eorl, the ruling House of Rohan, entered the Dwimorberg and was never seen again? Baldor!
Hey guys Ngugi TWC in this 2nd age videos realy nicely explane and show who are diferent human groups where they live, how they migrate and which kingdoms they make and live in.
Lovely video. Rohan always has been my favorite faction. Those rousing speaches always got my blood pumping. One quick DaC related question: in my campaign, both Eómer and his father died in the siege of Foldburg in 2981 TA, which means Theóden the only one with the special ability left, which severely limits my moments of successful glorious charges. Is that ability in some way passable to others? I could cheat of course, but that would not be nice. Thanks for answering in advance, if indeed you have.

+Titus Scholten Special Abilities cannot be passed mid-game I am afraid. I am sorry for the loss of Lord Éomer and Éomund. May they rest well!
Their bodies have been laid to rest under the simbelmynë that adorn the burial mounds since the days of the kings of old. "Bealocwealm hafað fréone frecan forth onsended giedd sculon singan gléomenn sorgiende on Meduselde thæt he ma no wære his dryhtne dyrest and maga deorost."
@@DukeOfMalarkey I do hope one day that someone will have posted the translation to Westron here. In my head this sounds beautiful and brings to mind Old English, that of the time of Béowulf.
Arachîr Galudirithon Which historical people do you think would have most inspired or influenced Tolkien's image of the Haradrim? Given his rather scant descriptions of them, the closest thing we have to a real depiction of them is Peter Jackson's films where their appearance is rather nebulous and is best described as vaguely foreign, with Arabic and Indian undertones.
+XheroldX ye right click on their portrait where you see their ancilleries traits and what not then one of them will be special abillity hove over that and it will tell you
Hm can u do one change in Rohan family tree make Thengal alive at least cople turns so Theoben is heir and make theodred alive so u can chouse next heir betwean theodred and eomer. So if u want stick to books u can make eomer king or if u want play alternative history style u can hawe theodred alive.(sorry for bad gramm)
In the original patch Thengel was alive for 1 turn as that is lore accurate as he dies winter of 2980 but that confused many players and arose many complaints so they settled on moving his death before 2980 so confusion would be minimal
Why did the elves of lothlorien not help gondor whit some troops when they were trapped on the field Celebrant?
8 лет назад
Because they are what could be considered as isolationist. Galadriel does help by covering the ride of the eotheod but they wouldn't send actual troops for they are in decline.
U sad that we dont know what happend whit Helmhamerhands doughter maybe Erkenbrand is becendant of helmhamerhands doughter so thats wy he is so similar to him.(this is only my fan teory and most likely wrong buth i like to think that way)
+goodersxx It depends on the age. :p A big event ushurrs in a new age. First age: 590 years. Ended with the last defeat of Morgoth. Second Age: 3441 years. Ended with the defeat of Sauron with the elves and men attacking him (the intro scene of FotR movie). Third Age: 3021 years. Ended with the final defeat of Sauron and the coronation of Aragorn as King Elendil. And ushered in the time of Man. And so the fourth age starts!
