In a faraway galaxy known as Polaris, there waged a Great War between the Cragmites and the Lombaxes. The Crag Empire had taken control of most of the galaxy with little to no resistance until the Lombaxes decided enough was enough. The militaristic Cragmites had finally met their match against the technological ingenuity of the Lombaxes. However, neither side would never gain the upper hand until the Lombaxes put together the eight greatest minds to create a weapon dubbed the 'Lombax Secret', which they used to rid the Cragmites from the Polaris Galaxy for good..
Until some Lombax miners uncover a frozen Cragmite egg and felt raising the Cragmite as one of their own was the only acceptable thing to do. The young Cragmite, named Percival Tachyon, discovered the truth of his race's legacy - and like any adopted child would do - ran off, amassed a bloodthirsty army, and returned to destroy his foster race. But a young Lombax would escape to the Solana galaxy without the heritage of his people. His name was Ratchet.
Some time later, Ratchet, dreaming of adventuring throughout the galaxy, notices a ship crash-land nearby. There, he discovers a robot-on-the-run, Clank, who shows him a video of Chairman Drek's plans to destroy a planet and create another just for his species. Ratchet, needing Clank to jumpstart his ship, and Clank, needing a ride to Novalis, struck a deal realizing they must stop Chairman Drek TOGETHER!
