Not too many have heard and understood Laureena's compositions that I have known, and such creative wisdom and talent deserves a comment, at least. I first came across her many years ago, then found a tape of the visit in a shop in Norway and found two more in a second hand shop like they we're waiting for me, now I have most of her works and appreciate the synchronicity. Hi and thank you for the music. I work a highly stressful job, listening to your music soothes my soul and gives me a sense of inner peace. I am from a long line of witches, that were practicing as far back as I can trace my family tree. Personally I grew up as a Chistian and i combine the two religions together. if the people of my church found out I was basically a wiccan, Im not sure what would happen to me. So many negative thoughts about wiccans orthe old ways as my grandmother would say

and the brightest star in the east points to the sunrise on dec 25th. It's all very interesting to look at and it has significantly acted as a foundation for my viewpoint change on religion itself as well as opened my eyes to the world outside the box. Not to say that anything is dead truth but to see a view from outside is definitely an ability to let us be more openminded about the world, how people have perceived things, and to get a broader sense of the world itself.
Let us worship whatever we want. It's our personal matter and we don't hurt anybody by doing so, so in my opinion there is no point in criticising us and making us become christians...As free people we' ve chosen such a kind of spiritual way and we feel fulfilled and happy with it. We do respect other religions and we'd like our religion and our beliefs to be respected as well.
@DecemberResplendence Yes, its sort of an attraction for the "old ways". I think that people crave that sometimes. It sort of draws us in to the light. To that which is familiar to us and speaks to our soul. Maybe to memories that are locked inside of all of us and are with us from the day we are born. I'm not Wiccan but there are aspects of it that speak to me.
Hello all. Here are a few things to consider: 1. I'm a Roman Catholic, and I find everything different from my own faith (NOT religion, thanks. :) ) to be absolutely fascinating. 2. There is beauty in variety, not conformity. 3. Everyone is unique, and therefore must be appreciated for who they are and what they believe. If you don't agree with what others believe, make peace with them, don't fight them. That is all. :D
You know, I think that is really interesting. I enjoy things that are different and people that believe other things are so much more full of life than those that only believe one thing. Maybe for them it's what they need, but I like to explore a bit and add what makes my life better. as Batlady says, don't worry about others, as long as you are happy and satisfied with your life, that is what really matters.
There are many Gods from different areas around the world that christianity is just another leaf from the tree of astrotheological hybrids. Born of a virgin, born on dec 25th, star in the east, all comes from the study of astrology. A great resource tool i've used in the past is the Zeitgeist movement. Horus, Attis, Krishna of India, Dionysus, Mithra of Persia and many others. The "three kings" represent the 3 stars in Orion's Belt that point to Sirus, the brightest star in the east.
Hi Daniel. Really? I always thought the Cross represented the memory of the death of Jesus. Do you mean it was around even before that time? I never knew this. And though its good that you acknowledge wrongs done by Christians there is hardly any people of any religious establishment that has not behaved badly at some point and time in history. Its not the religions that are the problem but sometimes the people who claim to believe in them that are.

I think its really sad that the numbers of "crazy" religious people are really few compared to the rest of the population and yet those few seem to be able to ruin every thing for the rest of us. Its when they manage to gain such control in our government affairs that makes it possible for them to be able to do the harm they do. If not for that they would probably be only annoying but harmless.
@AnimeMusic100 Well, if you live in the USA then you should not feel that way. Its all about freedom of religion. But freedom does not exist if you don't stand up and fight for it. And then after you have it you have to keep on fighting to keep it or else you'll end up hiding in the "closet" like you said. I'm not a Druid nor a Pagan nor a Wiccan. But I still respect everyone's right to choose what they believe in. And any way, there are still things to learn from the "old ways".

About you Wiccan spiritual beliefs, there are people on this earth that will never understand any thing no matter how hard you try to show them they have no reason to fear a belief different from their own. So my advice is don't even try. Just keep your spiritual relationship between you and our creator. Your life will be less stressful that way.
actually the cross symbolism is a pagan symbolism, and it's originally to be thought that, especially the cross which you see jesus' head in the middle, is the personification of the sun and the sign of the zodiac, and how the ancient beliefs of believing when the sun reached its lowest point in the sky, dec 25, that it "died for 3 days" which it stayed for 3 days, and "rose again" when it then started moving north again. which this wasn't fully recognized til which we know as Easter.
@biggmoshjosh I love LM so much too. But some of her music I've tried to up load in here YT mutes the sound on. Its confusing. Some songs they let in and some they don't. I'd probably make vid montages out of every one of her songs but I'm afraid I'll spend the time making it only to find out it's not accepted on YT. (sigh)
I would like to talk with you. I was raised christian, but have been called by the witch in me. am exploring this side of me, my family would pray for my soul if they know what i really believe. i am not a flippant teenager, almost 50. Loreena started my journey, or my quest for truth as I call it.

Wow. That is very interesting. But I bet some Christians won't like it. (grin). You know, I've heard also that there was an old Egyptian belief in a God named "Horrace" who was born from a virgin and was hung and died then came back to life. This in their ancient writings long before the time of Christ. Some claim that is where the story of Jesus really came from. NOT THAT I BELIEVE that but I'm just saying I read that someplace.
@dwolfspirit1 The Old Believes of Pagan and Wiccan are not " man made religions". Try to research why the Druids were chased and killed and why the witches were chased and killed from the inquisition. You will be amazed .
@TheEidolon7 Yes I agree and these over zealous "Christians" have WAY to much influence in our government affairs too! Especially when Bush was in office. They have this idea about "helping" the "Lord" to bring on His "Rapture". The "end times" as they call it. It can't happen soon enough for them so they try to make it happen themselves. They make up their own prophesies themselves. Then people die because of it. They are insane and dangerous to us all.
Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine would disagree with that. God is the source of all truth, but Christianity is not the only thing that is true. There is truth in probably all religions. That doesn't mean all religions can save you (only Jesus can do that), but it's not wrong to agree with a pagan that the earth is beautiful, sacred, and even powerful.

@WORMIE4456W And I respect every one's right to NOT believe in any higher power as well. We all have the right to free will. There can be no compulsion in religion. The Quran even says that. So if I tried to force someone to believe in a certain religion I would be going against my own religion in doing so. Besides, if a belief has to be forced its not a real belief then. We are human beings not robots.

love the comments here and fair debate is good and well ! as a christian as for a better word iam anti Religion....i believe in a person God manifest ie Jesus ! all of us are hypocrits so we cant make it to his level or Holyness if you like .so how. well the gate way is Jesus ! there is no or ever will be any other way ! christians have a lot to answere yes ... for the biggest persecuters of christians was.christians ! Your correct, but iam not contradictory...let me explain...what is A christian ?.....i believe Jesus was the creator in the Flesh,he died rose again the third day ! now there is a miliion questions after this ! read the book of ACTS how the church { people) began.now look at most churches in your area.are they the same..if not thats Religion a form of rules,regulations etc ..i believe in a relationship with God not a man made religion !
you say you don't believe in religion, yet you're a christian. and the christians are whom believed in Jesus as a spiritual human hybrid function of a god. Jesus is the result of a religion, so it is contradictory to say you are anti religion but yet believe in Jesus as you're savior, or gateway. Religion has been around for thousands of years even before Jesus. And many gods before him exuded the same characteristics as Jesus, many just the same as yet came before.
