The NDR Symphony Orchestra (today: NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra) performs under the baton of Lorin Maazel. On the program of the concert: Barber's "Overture to 'The School of Scandal'", Strauss' "Till Eulenspiegel" and his "Symphonia domestica op. 53".

Thank you for uploading several Maazel’s concerts with NDR in the 1980s. They are all excellent performances. And of course NDR itself has been a first-class ensemble for decades. Hopefully more Maazel’s concerts can be uploaded from NDR’s archives, especially if there are some Mahler symphonies. Thank you.

Lorin Maazel war ein absolut fantastisch brillanter Dirigent ....es war immer eine große Freude in LIVE zu erleben...ein grosser Verlust für die Musiker und Zuhörer die Ihn erlebt haben.....und zu guter letzt...was für ein fantastisches Programm. und Orchester ..gleich 2 absolut geniale Strauss Meisterwerke, wovon die Domestica viel zu selten gespielt wird.....besten Dank für das herunterladen hier auf You Tube...

It's aways a pleasure to see Maazel on the podium. He was a wonderful conductor whose work I have enjoyed for a great many years with numerous fine orchestras. I miss him. Thanks so much for sharing these performances.
