Welcome to this video featuring a full line ride on the Los Angeles metro E line, which runs between Santa Monica and Atlantic Station in East Los Angeles, passing through downtown Los Angeles and through the newer regional connector project, which connected these two line branches to from the larger E line. Overall, it takes around 70 minutes to travel end to end, much shorter than the roughly 120 minutes end to end on the A line, and there is no driver swap on this line compared to the A line. There are street running portions in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and East LA. This time stops at stations haven't been cut short by editing so you can experience the full announcements and activity at the station, feel free to let me know down in the comments if you think this is better! In addition, timestamps are located down below if you'd like to jump to your favorite station. Also, related videos i highly recommend are also down below for you to watch. It's crazy how many intersections there are without signal priority.

It is, and it’s crazy how they don’t make the simple change in at least adjusting the traffic signals to give priority to trains

This type of signaling system exists because on street-running sections of light rail, conventional crossing gates would cause massive traffic jams at each intersection crossed over by the LRVs. That type of system also poses a much greater risk for auto drivers because if a left turn light is green, it may suddenly change to red to let an LRV pass, and the gates lowering as a result would consequently cause them to get stuck on the crossing. It’s also just too costly to maintain THAT many railroad crossings in such a short section.

Gates wouldn’t be good I’m just talking like when a train arrives at the intersection, it is put next in the cycle instead of having to wait for other sequences of cars to go it would cut the wait time at the lights from upwards of a minute down to 15 seconds hopefully

My first experience in this metro was back in 2022 i did enjoy the ride but the vast amount of homeless and mentality ill people made it challenging. I play cities skylines a lot and being in a city like LA for the first time was amazing, good video.

I agree metro has been really bad then but it has been getting much better over the years luckily but the system has had lows definitely around after Covid and 2022, thanks for commenting and watching!

Great video!! I'm hoping that I can do the full A Line this weekend because last weekend there were shuttle buses. If not, then maybe a full C Line ride. I have a curious question for you, do you record the metro videos on the day you publish the videos or earlier? I'm just curious and wondering!!:))

Thanks elliot! The shuttles have been really annoying, and they actually caused me to miss my Metrolink home because they waited over 10 minutes for an open platform at Union Station, the last station before the bus bridge, thanks for watching ad always!

The E Line is actually the new Gold Line running from Santa Monica to East LA. The Gold Line merged with the Expo Line last year to form a transfer-free Gold Line (called the E Line).

Yes I wish I filmed videos on the L line before it got removed but I do have to say it’s much more convenient with these lines combined through the regional connector, thanks for watching!

@@TigerRailfan I think that the L Line was the Gold Line's temporary name before the Regional Connector. Metro says that they could reuse the letter "L" possibly for the NoHo to Pasadena Bus BRT Line in 2027 while keeping the sequential naming.
