Kid got lucky, the government in California can be rather oppressive toward people who protect themselves instead of outsource personal safety to big brother.
If you fit a particular demographic (I.e. white or a white Latino) you can get away with murder. Look up Fred Scott Johnson, he chased down and stabbed a homeless man to death in DTLA for stealing his backpack and got off with no jail time.
What does she think its ok go around robbing ppl and ppl shouldn't defend their property. That's the problem with this country ppl think its ok to rob ppl and ppl should just let them take whatever they want with impunity hell no ppl get what's coming to them when they rob ppl. Karma is a bitch so theres no need to cry on tv cause he got caught robbing someone and they stood their ground and defended their property. He should've got a job instead of robbing ppl and he still would be alive.
Ok. 1st...why is it necessary to tell us either persons race? This wasn't a racially charged crime. 2...if you decide to break into people's cars and tell them you're armed when confronted, then whatever happens happens. So...he didn't kill him for breaking in cars. He killed him because he posed himself as a serious threat.
@BOURBON-BANDIT hispanic ethnic groups have a long standing hatred of the BLACK RACE. So, any encounter involving the BLACK RACE and the hispanic ethnic group generally has a level of prejudice. Especially, when dealing with hispanic gangs and gang members like Ivan Gallegos.
Dialing 9-1-1 in the City of L.A. is a joke, because many times all lines are busy and the caller may have to hold for a long time before being connected to a live Operator. The USC Campus is a bubble surrounded by dangerous neighborhoods. Several USC Students have been killed during robberies around Campus throughout the years, so I think this Student didn't take any chances. Who knows if he will return to USC after this. I pray for the young man who lost his life over B.S. and my deepest condolences to his Mom & family.
If this would have happened in Texas where he was from it wouldn’t even hit the news. It would be a case closed from the jump. Because Texas has different laws where you can protect your property and your family.
True... but breaking into cars shouldn't warrant a murder. Though, he unfortunately (unwittingly) put himself in that position. As a Black Man in America, you don't get the benefit of the doubt within the Black race and definitely not with other races.
@@marshalljankins4526 I sure would say the same thing if it was a Brother. Right is right and wrong is wrong, no matter the race, creed or ethnicity. Yes, it is murder. They took the law into their own hands. Vigilante style. Please don't get me wrong, he put himself into that situation. However, he most likely didn't truly realize the risk he was taking.
This mother reminds me of the people who go "the cops didn't have to kill him... they could have just aimed for his leg!" 😂 what an idiot. If you break into a car and the owner comes out and kills you, THAT'S LIFE. Thats part of the game, anyone who has ever been a criminal knows this.
I wonder if others can see the separation that's happening in Blk America cause of the one sidedness going on? I know people like Cavario, and a lot of NYC tethers have no idea, but I wonder do other groups know cause once they are aware, it's a wrap, and changing of the guard. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime, but it's happening!
She’s looking for a payday check. I agree with you 💯 percent. Out less then 24 hours, she knew he was coming out. So she didn’t make any plans for him between food, clothing, housing/tent/halfway shelter etc. All that’s better than nothing.
Where was the black dudes family when he was in the mental hospital? People always wanna help when its too late. Shouldn't you have been there at the mental hospital when he got released?
Call the police? She wouldn't have called the police. Family should have had him instead of leaving him OUTSIDE. I been in his position, and my so called "family" didn't gaf. She feels guilty, so give her a break
He got caught stealing and he threatened with strap he got caught and now the momma is crying she should have been taking care of her son if she knew he needed help
Hopefully, The family of Cerf gets legal representation. They should call for a 1. grand jury investigation 2. Department of Justice Civil Rights Investigation They should file a lawsuit against: 1. The Fraternity A. National Chapter B. Local Chapter C. Regional Chapter 2. Ivan Gallegos 3. University of Southern California 4. City of Los Angeles 5. LAPD Where are Al Sharpton, Benjamin Crump, BLM.
This was not self defense. These people in the comments acting like civilians are police are crazy. As a civilian, you don't get to say things like "he was reaching for his waistband." Civilians are not police. Citizens don't have to listen to other citizens boss them around. That's not how this works. In fact there was a case a couple weeks ago where some guy took it upon himself to confront a group of black teenagers he though had guns and were going to rob a store. Turns out they were airsoft guns and they were returning one to the store where they bought it because it was malfunctioning. The guys shoots one of the kids and is charged with murder, as he should be. They said they ordered him out of the car. They were the ones with the weapons. They were not afraid of anything. This was murder and the kid got away with it because of politics. I don't care if he was breaking into cars. You cannot kill someone for that.
He wasn't at a store. He was in someone's car. Personal property. If they confront him they are in their right. If he threatened with a gun he automatically poses a threat of life.
Mom’s lack of accountability is why her “baby” was out there on the bullshit with no accountability in the 1st place probably. When he got caught inside the car if he woulda stoped and humbled himself, maybe apologize instead of argue because he DEFINITELY was in the wrong, and offered to make him whole again, he might still have his life and just left with an ass whoopin’. Gotta know when the odds are and aren’t stacked in your favor…
Even if he got off, USC should say he can't attend school there for violating campus policy by not calling security that tuition pays for. He wanted smoke and cool frat boy I'm a badass story. The guy could've had a gun so it was stupid to go outside when insurances could cover property losses
Al, there is more to this story. I believe that student had issues with that homeless man before. I believe race played a role in this also being that punk is from East Los Angeles. That boy been at murder in his heart. Don't be surprised if he doesn't kill someone on campus.
So if the guy wasnt black he would have just allowed himself to be assaulted?? your racism accusation is a baseless assumption, what is a FACT is the dude was threatened after his car was broken into, also way to try to be righteous by demeaning an entire city of people, hypocrite
Gallegos, is a gang member from Estrada Courts in Los Angeles. His immigration status was never mentioned. Which is a very srtong indication he is not legally and lawfully in the United States of America. We were told everything else about him academically, hobbies, family but nothing about immigration status. Who were his friends? Are they legal citizens? What was their role, in this? Was the knife used even legal? 1. California has a myriad of restrictions on the type and size of knives allowed. At worst we have: 1. An violent illegal alien A. Gang member B. Not legally and lawfully in the country 2. Walking around armed 3. Taking the law into his own hands 4. Murdering US Citizens At best we have: 1. A college student 2. Walking around armed on campus 3. Commtting murder A. Over a car burglary 4. Lying to law enforcement to cover up the murder A. With a wild far-fetched story
@154g Please let's not try to derail the discussion in some wild direction. Let's stick to him being: 1. Murder 2. Gang Member 3. Undisclosed immigration status A. Indicating no legal or lawful right in the USA 4. Giving false statements to the police, possibly 5. Planned armed confrontation of Xavier Cerf A. By Gallegos and 2 friends B. Possible murder conspiracy 6. Possible violation of Mr. Cerf civil rights 7. Civil legal responsibility We can start we these.
This kid is a murderer. The whole he reached for a gun (that he never had) is laughable. No one says that. Then acting like a citizen has to follow another citizen's orders like they're law enforcement is another lie. According to their own words, they're the ones who ordered him out of the car. The confrontation happened because of them, and they were the only ones with weapons. How is this not murder? You cannot find a single case in recent memory were a situation with these facts didn't lead to a murder charge. Anyone agreeing with Al is just a fanboy.
You're just dead wrong. The only thing we have to go on is his claim that he feared for his life because he thought he had a gun--which he didn't. That is textbook murder. Nothing else in this story can justify his action even if 100% of it was true. So are you now saying that weapon or no weapon, I can confront someone on the street and kill them, and it be justified because I THOUGHT my life was in danger? That's doesn't make any sense. Anyone can kill anyone if that the case because you can always THINK someone had a gun.
It is irresponsible to slander mexicans in this manner with the title. We also need folks who defend their property to not be charged criminals need to know they can lose their life if they steal peoples property. The logic isn't should you kill to defend your property, it is if a criminal is willing to lose their life for burglary.
This all sounds like a lie. The story makes no sense. You call the Police for car break in. You plan with 2 of your friends to leave the safety of the house. Armed to confront the suspect? Most instances this alone places you and accomplice in the realm of forethought and planning. If a criminal action takes place on your part. There are a couple different accounts of the story: 1. Gallegos and his friends were walking down the street. A. Then observed the car break-in 2. So, Gallegos, just walking around on Campus armed with a knife A. Large enough to inflict deadly stab wounds B. And friends carrying sticks 2ND VERSION: 1. Gallegos and friends were in the house A. Hear a noise B. Looked out and saw the car burglary taking place C. Then put together their plan D. Armed themselves E. Went outside to confront and murder Xavier Cerf The "HE REACHED FOR GUN". Sounds, so Hollywood. I can state with almost certainty that did not happen. So, now we justify murder of car burgulars as legal? AL, IS A PIECE OF SHIT!
If you are speaking of the IG video. Yes, his mannerisms, gestures, speech tone, inflection are that of a hispanic gang member. He did everything but mention his gang and territory. Just slightly cleaned up.
If you’re looking for Justice in Los Angeles you are sadly mistaken. California is gang central. We can’t afford to be getting emotional about unfortunate events in such a corrupt and lawless place. Be tactical not emotional. If you care so much, go support the family
Either way, the dude said he had a gun. What did u expect him to. Say well, sire, u stay her n i call the police. No, u idiot u fight or flight like he should have not been allowed to leave the crazy house. It suck but he looks for his death
Al you were too scared to look through the peephole. You were like oh no! they finally got me I made the wrong video about the wrong person and now it’s caught up with me! 😨
