@@cmad2345 Miami is a sewer, the only thing they have over L.A is that they are better at hiding their homeless problem, which is getting worse by the day. South Florida is getting like California, great if you're rich, make less than 100K and you are priced out
Visited both. Miami feels more like a city. Skyscrapers, people out walking, exciting, fast paced. Los Angeles feels like a suburb with different pockets for different folks. LA is more diverse than Miami. There’s a strong black, white, Asian, and Latin presence. Miami was predominantly Latin. I’m not a party girl so I had a hard time finding things to do in Miami. The beaches were nice but not my vibe. I do love shopping so that was a plus. I didn’t get to shop in LA but I hear it’s amazing too. Both cities were friendly. I’m not the chitchat type but if I asked for directions/advice people in both cities helped. Something tells me I’d have a harder time making friends in Miami. LA has the stronger economy. The tech scene is booming so that’s a plus for me. Miami is mostly service but I know their business scene is nothing to scoff at. traffic was brutal in both places. Miami is slightly more affordable. I prefer Miami’s tropical scenic greenery to LAs dry dust, but LA would be more liveable for me.
Miami is more diverse in the Latino aspect. Florida has the highest or second highest of each Latino nationality in the entire country. You’ll find ALL Latinos in Florida. Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Cubans, Brazilians, Argentinians, Colombians ect ect
There’s one important difference between Los Angeles and Miami I believe is important in deciding which one to move to: politics. -LA is strongly progressive with its laws and ideology heavily reflecting the beliefs of Democrats, like strict gun laws, socially liberal activism, and economic policies based on equality and government interference. -Miami on the other hand is the opposite, being libertarian/conservative and even voting for Republicans in 2022 for the first time in decades. They’re laws and ideology reflect the GOP more, with its pro-gun laws, socially conservative values, and free market economics. Besides that, awesome video!
We claim to be all socially activist in LA but 1 out of every 150 of our citizens sleeps in the street. Our economic policies are not even remotely based on equality here.
I think a good alternative to Miami on the west coast is ... San Diego. Ok, it is not as warm in winter as in Miami, and the Pacific Ocean ist pretty cool... but the beaches in San Diego (like Coronado Beach or Pacific Beach) are also great, and the climate around the year is pretty nice there :-)
Peruvian food is the bomb in Miami. Venezuelan, Colombian and Brazilian food is also abundant and delicious. In addition to Cuban (which is my favorite comfort food), the variations of Caribbean cuisines are also amazing. Contrary to a lot of perceptions, Miami doesn't have a large Mexican community and good Mexican food is difficult to find. The same is true for the Asian communities. They too are quite small.
I don't know why anyone would think Miami has a huge Mexican community. You never see or hear about in the media, let alone see it when you go down there. Unless, that is, you think Cubans and other Latinos that call Miami home are the same as Mexicans. Newsflash, they're not!
People from New York, Philly, Boston and New Jersey are even more pushy. Then they retire/vacation in Florida bringing all their habits with them haha.
I’m a Miami native and he talked about “bluntness”. He spoke about his girlfriend working a customer service job in LA. Noooo Bueno! People should be real careful when hiring someone from Miami in a customer facing situation. A lot of people here are not customer forward. They should NOT be the frontline of your customer’s experience. Especially certain cultures from Miami. There will be several, if not a lot of customer complaints about how Miamians deal with customer issues. I have walked out of plenty stores or businesses in Miami because the attendant is clueless of what customer service looks like. The west coast, hands down, has better customer service practices than the East coast period. I am a Miami native and proud of it. I love love love Miami. I just know our flaws. Customer service is a huge one. Be prepared. And yes, a lot of stores EXPECT you to be fluent in Spanish. Some clerks will treat you unkindly if you do not speak Spanish. Just FYI
I grew up in Miami but moved to Los Angeles in the early 90s. I agree with warrickroundtree but I would add that the men and women in Los Angeles are a grade up in looks but hollow in character.
@@petechau9616 I do agree with the hollow character, but Miami has some of the most beautiful people in the world. You can get caught up here. I DO NOT think the people are more attractive in LA.
@@warrickroundtree5752 I think both are fine, but there is a tendency to be overweight in LA a bit more than Miami. However, for those that keep themselves in reasonable weight, LA wins for me. The abundance of Mexicans, Asians, Salvadorans and Middle Eastern people in LA can't be beat. Miami has mostly Hispanic Caribbean, South American, Haitian and Anglo-Caribbean peoples. Personally, I'm not really into Haitians, Jamaicans or Hispanic Caribbeans that much, just the excessive flashiness that many demonstrate comes off as very tacky to me. But that's just me.
I've lived in both cities 😁they are similar in some ways however Miami is a Clear Winner🏆Traffic is bad in both cities, however public transportation and city distance is easier to cover in MIA as LA is obnoxiously distant. You can get away with no car in MIA in LA its next to impossible for most. California taxes and policies are leading wealthy people and company HQ out of state and if you aren't impacted now you will be in the coming years. 📈as an LA native I have first hand seen crime and homelessness progressively getting worse year after year. There are homeless encampments across the street from SLS hotel in beverly hills, no this is not hyperbole its just common. 🌮 LA is inundated with people chasing the entertainment career and as a result thats why LA is called "fake" a lot of smoke and mirror personalities. East coast personalities are more harsh and transparent they either like you or they dont and they wont care. 🔴 If you like to pay high taxes, increased crime, and fake personalities LA is built for you.
Have you been to Miami … I’ve live in both and LA is better Miami homeless problem is horrible and the jobs are horrible … average salary is 20$hr while rent is like 3k I work a job in LA and make 40$hr and pay the same in rent … plus you easily avoid the homeless
I spent the first 20 years of my life in Michigan. Wanted to move to LA for a few years now, but recently took a trip to Miami over spring break & the city has a charm. The people are younger, hotter, there’s more year-round warmth, the Caribbean’esk culture is more inviting, but LA still gives off more of a “home vibe.” Miami is like Dubai, smaller and with less to do. It’s like maxed out it’s vacation skill points but that’s about it. In Miami you can tan on the beach, eat at nice restaurants, party on a yacht & go to a club, but that’s about it. I can technically do all of those things in LA, but also have access to suburban neighborhoods & schools to raise a family. I’d prob live in LA & vacation in Miami.
Ive lived in LA for a decade and it’s hard to agree that it has the “best weather in the planet” when you cant breathe because of highly polluted airs. Also, LA is WAY more diverse than Miami. I wouldn’t trust that crime stat comparisons A LOT of what happens in LA is unreported because the cops dont come or get called.
Nahhh bro I love Florida too. Born and raised. I'm in California right now and It's cool. The people, the REGULAR people are nice, good food, driver's are more courteous, and world class amenities. The worst part is the homelessness and absurd cost of living.
I live in Miami since 2008 and I can tell you the only good ting about Mimi is the beach and the weather rent and cost of living and jobs pay crap I’m actually leaving for another state bc it’s crazy a little room called an efficiency is a 1000 dollars a month is crazy car insurance is crazy expensive don’t come to Mimi you are going to leave
Omg Dylan!!! You are so on 🎯 with all of the differences. I liked you even more when you said you are half Peruvian. Lol. I’m Peruvian myself but I lived in San Diego for about 10 years. My husband and I recently moved to Orlando and we totally see the difference lol. I miss CA!!! Not the state taxes tho! Keep it up! Great content!
@@jaynyce5923 Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Persian, Thai, Salvadoran, Korean, Ethiopian, Armenian and others make Los Angeles win for me. The diversity is simply unmatched. Though the things I love about Miami is the Brazilian Churrasco, Argentine asado, Cuban cafecitos, and Peruvian everything 😋 They also got some good food, but the iconic flavors of LA's ethnic groups cuisine is hard to beat
I live in Orlando now and i have family all over the state especially south Florida and my opinion is TAMPA is the best city in Florida. It has better beaches, not as rude and crowded, not as dangers, if you like strip clubs there's more and they're better, it has its own identity, its closer to other cities like St. Pete and Orlando, and the tech sector is growing. Also has 3 major sports teams and bush gardens. People from south Florida are moving up to central Florida because the cost of living is better. So if you are thinking about moving to Florida central Florida, especially Tampa, is more "Florida" than south Florida. South Florida is like NYC attitude wise.

LA's public transportation is better but a lot of homeless people although there is still progress and a high speed rail from north to south california is in the process of being built it is still a long way off. The LA area is larger than Miami. I hate LA because of the traffic and it's too crowded.
As someone born and raised in LA...the city is not what it once was. Its an overpriced cesspool of douche bags....but plenty of stuff to do. But the traffic just kills it. The traffic will drive you wild if you hate driving or traffic.

Thank you for your input! You’re so right about the political difference. I know Florida folks don’t like the thought of Californians moving to Florida because of that difference, which I understand. A lot of people leave California for political reasons, but I never hear that reason for leaving Florida. Also, I don’t know if there’s a ceviche 305 out there, but I am talking about the popular restaurant ceviche 105 (CVI.CHE 105). I usually go to the one in downtown Miami!

Miami Dade is just one of three counties in the Miami Metro Area. If you add Broward and Palm Beach, it is more than double the population and land area. It is not even close to being built out like L.A. is.
@@aruytpadyugf yes but by including Los Angeles County (10 million and 4,700 sq mi), he is talking about an area that is physically larger than the size of Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties combined, so a legitimate comparison.
Perhaps in theory....but I disagree. Dade, Broward & Palm Bch County's are already OVER-Built as far west as they could backing up against the Everglades. There is not much LAND left to build on so they are tearing down older structure's, slabbing over old Mobile park's (displacing many sensors etc) & building UP....taller behemoth building's with zero lessons learned from Surfside. I like Miami but the people don't know how to drive, and the infrastructure is not so good either. L.A has more traffic and its huge. Miami is different, amusing, and fun. In L.A there's always more things to do and is more fun as a whole, anything your looking for you'll find in L.A. I also noticed living in Miami that the people there are very stressed out, they have meltdowns for the smallest things. On the other hand, L.A. is an illusion most people in L.A are laid back and polite but the bad people out there are definitely more dangerous, you have to know the areas very well in that city. I lived in both cities over the years and I love both cities but I'll have to go with The city of Angels there's just no comparison.

California in general has become unaffordable for most people, whereas Florida, even Miami is much more affordable. There is also no state income tax in FL.
Miami is not affordable … wages are so low and is nearly more expensive than La 😭😭 that’s why Californians in Florida are coming back 😭 wages in Miami suck … jobs in Miami suck… and housing in Miami sucks especially with the bad jobs … Rent is the same As LA but your still make 21$/hr in a typical office job which is not enough in Miami while in LA you can make decent living and afford to live somewhere in the city

Los Ángeles and everything it has to offer, weather it’s beaches, nightlife, food, entertainment everything Miami has so it’s equal except in scale LA like 2-3 Miamis, Here’s where it’s different in 3 hours proximity from Miami Im in another beach, doing/seeing the same thing feeling the same weather. 3 hours from LA I’m skiing in Big Bear 3 hours I’m in Las Vegas 3 hours I’m in Tijuana 3 hours from LA I’m in distinct places. When it comes to culture I would say miami definitely has more South American & Caribbean demographic.. with a splash of middle eastern and Europeans. Los Angeles obviously large Mexican population, as well as Salvadoran. Large Asian population ( south Asians, East Asians, Polynesians, Hawaiian ) Along with middle eastern and Armenian. LA has great Mexican food and Korean BBQ but Miami has more cultural meals on my opinion. After living in LA but visiting Miami I definitely would pick Miami
As a Native Chicagoan who has visited both cities, I would without hesitation move to Miami over LA. Miami is much cleaner, more Caribbean, more attractive people, easier to navigate. LA is dirtier, homeless and bums everywhere, even in tourist areas. Also the Chicano vibe is really annoying in LA. I say this as a Chicago Mexican. LA seems fake where it seems people see they can benefit from a relationship with you in or the whole fake people pursuing stardom. That's my take
Not to mention the storms and hurricanes in Miami. Also, FPL in South Florida. Cuts people’s power out at least 3 times a year. So unstable out here in Miami. Take me back to LA!!!!
