@subzero 1600 I've never owned or driven an XMaxx. So it would not be fair if I answered this. I've pinned this comment. Hopefully someone that has driven both or owned both can help.
Choose the SBR and save yourself about $500, or get the SRR. The X Maxx has a faulty esc that will need replacing along with the batteries you will need. Traxxas screwed people on X Maxx, even on the upgraded version they used a faulty esc. As good as it is, its too expensive for a truck that needs to have expensive parts replaced..
Just came across this video since I am considering it. I just finished up building my Rock Rey and would love to have a bigger truck. Very good info and review 👍👍
Thank you so much for this video. Ive been looking for a sbr review like this to help make my decision to buy one over the traxxas udr. Keep up the awesome videos.
Do you think that the cordless battery converters xt90 to EC5 will work with this truck? I know you said it would be a tight fit in the traxxas udr because of the battery compartment door. Is it the same problem with the sbr?
Great review been waiting on this. Your opinions are greatly taken into consideration. Leaning towards getting myself one. Thanks for thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated.
You can’t go wrong with this truck. It’s a blast to run. I will have to say though after changing to the 3.8 Prolines it actually handles better than stock.
Ready Set RC converted to the 17mm hex and installed Proline 1178-11s. Also modified the spare tire post so that it would hold a Proline spare. Tires are a little shorter, but wider. Better traction.
Great honest review man, I'm still going to buy one next month (fingers crossed) when supplies are available here in Australia. The best price I have found so far here is $1249 so until then I'm trying to be patient lol, loving my UDR at the moment.
With the SBR they are saying (At model shop here in oz) the guys who bought the SBR's here are running them on 8s don't know if that true or not. Thanks for replying keep them videos coming and take care.
Thanx for your excellent review. What I missed was how you feel about working on the diffs? And about the price, iff you compare it to the udr, which a lot a people do, the sbr is a bargain imo. Keep it up👍👍
Friso Fox I'm glad you enjoyed it👍👍! I have not torn down the diffs yet so I can't speak on that. As for comparing this to the UDR two totally different trucks. The SBR is a bashers truck. IMO I feel the UDR tries to pull in the scale market and the bashers but I feel it's geared more for the scale market.
That's-just-nasty I hate to break the bad news but this is electric. I would love if Losi would make this in gas like Kraken RC's trophy truck. I do more electric than gas on this channel. Not much areas for me to run gas or nitro. Wouldn't want you to think this channel is something that it is not.
Ready Set RC I know that dude it’s a big shame losi don’t do that yet it would be a sick rig 🤘and I’m just showing my support for a fellow rc brother ✌️
Ready Set RC not really brother 👊. I just landed another Kraton sorta by accident 😰. Really have my hands full with my current inventory 😵. My buddy has one I can play with though 👌!!! 😎💪👊👊
I love Losi and I love the SBR, I have a few Losi vehicles and I'm totally satisfied with them, BUT, I just wish parts and upgrades were more available that's always been my only issue with Losi
I think I'm going to pick this up. I've been comparing it with the Mojave. I just like the looks of this one. I don't know if it will have the aftermarket support like the Mojave.
@mzondi1970 Aftermarket support has been limited for this truck but to be honest you don't really need it. This truck is pretty durable and the hop-up parts and the stock parts from Losi, it should do the trick if you have any concerns.
i had 2 cars before hpi and losi ten scbe, the hpi and the losi were my first proper cars, before that i had a beginners hobby grade ecx torment and a ruckus, i am great at driving them and starting them, its just i get confused.
Oh man I love mine so much!!! It takes a REALLY hard beating, it definitely doesn't feel like it weighs 20lbs, and it's cheaper to fix and slightly more useable than a 5th scale!
well ive been doing this hobby for a few years now, i own a 1/5 scale hpi baja 5b ss, losi ten scbe, the only thing i have trouble with is getting to the diffs so i take it somewhere to get it oil'd, just to be safe, but i'm learning everyday (:
FaZe Gamer With those trucks I would not call you a beginner. It's a little different than those two but getting to the diff's should not be too difficult. I would say if you are familiar with a truck this size and the speed, that's where the challenging part comes in. Working on it comes with time on the truck and getting familiar with it.
phillymac Once you remove the cage it's right beside the ESC. It's not hard to get to. There are only 12 screws that need to be removed to get the entire cage off. The other way would be to some how widdle the faux fan out of the way to get to the receiver behind it but you may break it by doing that.
@@ReadySetRC thx just got my rtr..its great!! I want to get a 2nd...your videos are great too!! You see Arrma moving the 1/8 to the smaller blx platform..nice!!
@Hirthirt hirt I don't think Losi was going for authenticity more than bashing. This is a bashers trophy truck. When you start messing with that setup you are going to get a more rollover prone RC.
tingokuman Anything would look like a toy to the UDR😎 But this is a true bashers truck. It takes a beating. I got some plans to try and scale this truck up. Stay tuned.
Michael Stewart I love my Chimera. I think the tires are the biggest issue and because of that there are no options for that wheels with the stock hexes. I swapped out to the Ram-tech adapters and went with the Pro-line 5th scale wheels .
"....the suspension-travel is perfect....." No, its not.....when you put it off the jackstand it looses half of it...needs stiffer springs in order to lift it
@Hirthirt hirt Got to disagree. This is setup for bashing. Put it in the dirt and have fun. I've put at least 15 packs in this truck and I have no issues with how the truck shocks are setup. If you are looking for UDR like setup, not going to find that on this truck.
@Marissa the gamer Ola This truck has too much development and size to be valued at $499. $499 can't get you anything larger than a 1/8 scale RC unless you are talking a far inferior RC. I don't mine paying a fair price for an RC but $499 is just not realistic.
