I flew in the cockpit of a British airways 737 back before the September 11 thing. I got chatting to the flight attendants and said I'd never been on the flight deck of a plane! They asked and the crew invited me in. It was fantastic they folded the 3rd seat out for me, I sat with the flight crew for more or less the whole flight and even the landing at Lyon Airport. It was like you say one of those money can't buy moments.

We seem to have a real issue in our society around being unable to disagree respectfully with one another, something I don’t think was an issue prior to social media. This video just came up on my timeline this morning. I was not aware of the fact that you have three channels; I only followed you on ‘Moving home with Charlie’. Anyway, I’ve caught up now! Thank you for this honest and heartfelt sharing of what is going on for you and your family. Gosh, how stressful! My thoughts are to you, firstly, you don’t have to be perfect and secondly, adopt a flexible approach as it’s the only way to get through this often mad and chaotic life. Take small chunks of time out in your day to meditate to refresh your soul. Prayer also helps, if you have faith. You have a lovely family, and beautiful children, so really you are a very blessed man. As for the nasty people out there, well, how sad that their lives are full of negativity and hatred. They are already being punished by just being who they are. Please remember that you are a very privileged man, and consider what you do for others who are not so fortunate. We can all get tied up in what we want, and shut out the needs of others who are far less fortunate. I look forward to seeing your progress and adventures. Take care.

Sorry to hear about your housing situation, some things just aren't meant to be. Your channel etc has been an immense help to me. We've been renting from landlord for 12 yrs, he never maintained the house, then decided to sell. I declined his offer after finding your channel last November (Sooo happy I did) When the boiler broke 2 months ago he decided to use the no hot water situ to push us out, so no working shower, no immersion heater and broken boiler, have used large pot to boil water. Unfortunately the wife took ill during covid, been in hospital few months now while I've been running a business and raising two kids, while trying to find a home. The stress is something I've never experienced, even though I lived through some horror times during the troubles. I have to say after having watched this video, I don't feel quite so alone in all of this mess. So keep on, keeping on.

Charlie, it’s through your advice via your other channel (to price our property more aggressively, through agents who I had to convince) that I have managed to get an offer above asking price on our property as a result of engineering a bidding war. My wife and I are desperate to upsize due to the arrival of our first child. Fingers crossed we get across the line with our ongoing purchase. Ah man, sorry to hear about the house situation, that sounds like a totally crazy situation! I have followed you for over a year and watched loads of your videos and livestreams, so grateful for the insight and information. I'm sure it will work out well for you - you make your own luck! It would be quite a nice series opportunity (maybe?) to document your new purchase / timeline etc? As a FTB'er myself I'd be very interested in your journey, how you negotiate, speak to agents, the process etc. Though to be fair, sounds like you have enough on your plate! All the best!

Charlie, I do wish you the very best. I can relate a little with similar experiences 7 or 8 years ago and one thing you will be doing is helping others by being so honest. Others will gain strength from knowing they are not the only ones. All of those balls being juggled are bound to affect your way of thinking and your wellbeing, you and your family are showing great resilience on so many fronts. Those that support you are invaluable and you are right the trolls in YT and real life can tip the balance disproportionately. Very honest and heartfelt video Charlie. Tbh, most people go through problems, but dealing with one thing at a time is fairly easy. Dealing with all of yours simultaneously I'm surprised you haven't had a meltdown. I sold my plane 3 years ago whilst Covid pandemic was in full swing, I've never really gotten over it. Life gives you lemons, swap them for grapes and make some wine 🍷😋 Hope things improve, take it easy and don't let them get under your skin. Cheers

My experience so far when things haven’t quite gone to plan is that everything has happened for the right reasons. Even though many days it’s really not seemed like it. I believe that sometimes things happen for a reason and tend to work out in the end. You know I moved recently (and used Best Agent) because of a number of reasons. However, it seems to have all worked out and in many ways appears to have been a ‘meant to be’ thing. Good luck with everything and I really liked that clip of you with the three children. Hi Charlie, Wife and I sold in December and now in rented looking for new home. We love your Moving channel and dashed over here to find out what is happening. Sorry to hear about your house purchase woes but sounds like you dodged a bullet. May I suggest this can be a source of material for your Moving channel? The process from having an offer accepted to moving in is complex and can be quite daunting for people, especially FTB. For example, a lot of FTB can think they can sit back and let it happen to them. We were stung in a similar way to you in 1998, by paying for a full structural via our mortgage provider they used it against us to withhold money and put deadlines on remediation work. Since then our advice has been to only do the home buyer via mortgage co (I timed the surveyor who did the house we sold, 15mins from pulling up to driving away) and then do a full structural independently. The trolls are dicks and should ignored, hard to do I know. Also try not to put pressure on yourselves to find a new home, moving is stressful enough. Perhaps rent? It’s a falling market don’t you know :-)

I know what you mean about state of mind with social media. It's horrible people being horrible because that's what they do and it's all they know. Stay the course, Charlie! You are helping many, including myself! Owing a property here in the UK is such brainwashing. Do you think my neighbor, the taxi driver, who owns a £500K house, and will pay the debt till he moves, is more happy or "successful" than you are? Wasted lives, missed opportunities, and this all for what? To pay off a damp shoebox? The sacrifices that people make in this country to own their shitty houses...I literally know people who don't have teeth in their mouths because they just can't afford the dentist. Why? Well, because they have their mortgage payments... Anyway, enough with the rant. You are doing a great job, I really hope your business takes off and you find your perfect home, though I suspect it won't be in this country. And I don't blame you knowing what other better choices you have...

Some people just go to the crossroads and sell their soul to the devil to become a better guitar player. What you have done is much braver. It has and will take away time and privacy and will invite people to tell you where you are going wrong, some of which will be insightful and some of which will turn you the whole Elon Musk. “Everyone” has an opinion and listening to nobody or everybody is damaging. My opinion. Don’t go down the path of naming and shaming those that have wronged you. It takes all of the energy you need for your vision. Compromise and don’t try to be perfect unless you want to lose everything. The great philosopher, meatloaf, says two out of three ain’t bad. You’ve managed 4 out of 3 but it’s not sustainable.
