sm0kie420 yea the event should still be in the game, I believe it’s probably a permanent event for missions drg. The likelihood of having a helmet spawn is pretty low though so just keep an eye out.

This is true, at least for me I've only been playing for about a week but I've already lost a reward to a disconnect Unfortunately it was for my favorite character, the engineer, and so far none of packs have dropped anything for engi again

Probably the dwarf was fighting for his life and parts of his armor were damaged and his helmet got knocked off or he threw it away and then went to hide in a small hole either bleeding out or any other death due to the ground being blown up.

Loading times? They usually take less than a minute it wouldn't have mattered much anyways

@@lemone12 1 minute loading times would add about 3 hours to the 15 hour estimate so I wouldn't say that they can be neglected. And for those with bad pc5s it might be even worse

I saw one the other day and I just thought that was an aesthetic prop for the mission. I completely forgot to look for the cargo drop after scanning the helmet and not seeing a ping on my scanner. I feel stupid.

Yea that would work, should be roughly the same. Length 3 refining can have enormous caves, just keep that in mind.

Yes, im gonna go ahead and look and see the rough amount of all the possible awards to be capped for the event. after you've claimed everything, you get no reward from the lost equipment, which i believe is different from cargo crates and machine events which give minerals im pretty sure. I will pin a comment that has the breakdown so you can check but if you aren't getting anything, you have finished getting all the rewards.

The wiki states 1 mission length is 1/10 2 mission length is 1/6 And 3 mission length is 1/3 chance for a lost pack to spawn.

Those events are rolled separately. You can have a matrix core event, a Prospector, and a pack in the same mission

Depends on the length of the mission. Iirc, length 1 missions have around a 15 % chance, length 2 around 25% and length 3 around 35%. This is of course a separate chance from chests.

the generation happens every time you play a mission, it doesn't have to be a unique mission. you can play the same named mission over and over and get different things generated in the cave. I dont think this guide says what the % chance is for them to spawn, im sure you can find that number somewhere though i would encourage you to be critical of the source. I didn't include information here because it is subject to change (and has). I think if you temper your expectation on how often you will find them you may be more enthusiastic about the results.

​@@milligin Thanks for the quick reply man. I had gotten several strings of very good and very bad luck that made me think that there was some process under the hood I was missing. I am pleased to report that lost packs are now empty for me, but I still have a long way to go on the cargo crates. I found what worked best for me was to go very fast ~1:30 per mission and rely primarily on visual cues. I kept burning out when I didn't have anything to listen to in the background or I wasted too much time searching side tunnels.

@@LordDratsab I hadn't considered how monotonous it would be to grind these out as i only did it enough to understand the mechanics and made the video. There are significantly more cosmetics to unlock now than there were at the time. The suggestion to just use visuals and do a general sweep is a great idea for maintaining a good mentality while farming. just out of curiousity, how far along would you say you are with the overclock grind? typically people have finished all cargo crates and helmets long before they finish getting all the cosmetic cores but i'm interested in where you may be with it.

​@@milligin I've only forged 19 cosmetic matrix cores and 33 weapon overclocks. That means I'll have to wait 15 weeks to get all my overclocks and that's before season 2 adds 4 new weapons. I don't actually care about cosmetic cores since all my dwarves wear helmets and I use some combination of MegaCorp, Fourth Relic and Scale Brigade with the Cosmetic Restriction Remover mod to obtain the look I want. I have many more cargo crates to find but my pickaxes are looking pretty sweet. If you were wondering about my specific time investment, I got the game about a month ago and have 250 hours in it, with I think about 5-10 of those being farming. Its really hard to tell since I only did two or three >1hour farming sessions and generally just took it as an alternative way to play when I was waking up in the morning or waiting for the mission timer to tick over when I didn't like the current assortment. I only started farming when I passed level 100 and completed the season pass.

Shadow88 it’s always seemed so familiar looking to me. I’m guessing gsg must have gotten inspiration from somewhere (though I had always assumed maybe halo or warhammer). I will have to look up the game you mentioned.

@@milligin I backed the big Warpath Kickstarter they ran years ago. Then the local tabletop gaming crowd died off. Either way; there's also a sibling game called Dreadball. It's the same sort of thing as Blood Bowl (being a violent sports board game using the races and factions from a wargame) but plays entirely differently. And, unlike Blood Bowl, is actually set in the same universe as the wargame, rather than being an alternate universe.

I dont have enough sample size to confidently say that it does/doesn't but I logged my own results and it there are strong correlations to mission length. If you have unpacked the game or have some strong evidence that it doesnt, i would be very interested in the spawning mechanics.

I swear it affected the spawnrate earlier, but right now DRG wiki states that it's an "unreleased feature". I guess we won't know for sure without some code digging.

@@charesque yea my experience is that it does effect it but i could be wrong. The wiki has been wrong about so many things that i dont hold my breath any more.

For the specific helmet, if your talking about the lost pack helmet, it’s also referred to as the Corporate Marine helmet which is able to be purchased from the shop.

They are not guaranteed, they never were. they are not even very likely to show up as they are low percentage chance to spawn. The more missions you do the more chances you have to find them so prioritize doing fast missions if you are hunting for this or any event.
